Thanks, he wants to help me, and like this things as far as i can judge from his behaviour  ;D

After i slaughtered the cab out, its time to bring the empty shell to my mothers attic.

The neighbour was so friendly to help me carry the cab upstairs and in and out of the trailer.

Very short roadtrip this time  ;)
1,8 Km one way  :D

Already i put a little table for repairing works at my mothers, and the monitor that came with the cab is now on the table, ready to check it out.

The two zacc's upstairs, it was again two stories up through narrow stairs, but no damages..

The two brothers look cool together  8)

Yes crazy kong, that is your donor  ;D

This damaged T-moulding will soon not be yours anymore..

For now you two need to guard the entrance to the room  8)

and another shot of the two guards  :D

After the transplantation, i will decide what to do with the leftover cab that now houses my Crazy Kong.

don't know it yet, its tempting to keep it too  :)

we will see what the future brings..

Now that the cab is slaughtered out, its time to test some things.

Brry71 was interested in the PCB, and i wanted to make sure the "red" issue is not caused by the board, because i dont like selling rubbish.

So i digged up the testpanel that i made in the past.
the old wireharness is still intact, so i only need to connect the wires to the test controlpanel and we are good to go  ;)

I also had a spare cp cable with plug so i solderd that in place.
in this way i dont need to cut off the connector and can keep the cable unmodified.

At my mothers, i "borrowed" some power from my CK  ;D

The red was not there on my CK monitor, so the board looks fine.
After looking at the monitor i found a loose wire..

Hmm no wonder that the use of the degauss button did not make any difference, this is the cable to the coil  ::)

After i degaussed the monitor manual with my degaussing coil, the colors came back  :P

A video of my "helper" testing the board can be found here.

click the pic..

As for the degaussing, i did a little video too:

click the pic..

It looks like both the board and the monitor are fine, exept for the loose connector wich came out of the board.
but thats a easy fix.

do you want to solder that yourself bela?, or do you want me to take care of that ?

Time for mission number 2;

I dont want that the bezel that needs to be shipped to hungary breaks, so i have decided to go with the "dartnuno ultra protection packaging method"  ;D

all dressed up like a waiter, i am ready for some woodworking  ;)

Little helper, can you bring the delicate bezel here please ?

Thank you Xander, i'll take it from here  :D

Some spare pieces of wood i had lying around

One part cut, one more to go.

Some screws will hold it together  ;)

After making the two borders, im checking if it fits and that i did not make any measure mistakes..

4 borders ready, and it fits good.

used some bubble wrap, to give it maximum protection.

An old handle makes a nice suitcase of this sandwich  ;D

To test the durability i dropped the suitcase from 1 meter to the ground....

Noooo   just kidding ofcourse !  ;D

Ready for transport, although i thought something was missing, so i put on a label  :D

Everything ready for now, lets see what the delivery options are.
already speaking with chris and thwocker..

Etienne, you are the Master! ;D :-*
That wooden box looks awesome, now we have a generic suitcase for transporting Zaccaria style bezels, it will also come in handy to exchange Erik's Scramble bezel! ;)
Your tutorial movies are also great, nice to see your Mom and Son playing arcade games and I've never seen a degaussing coil in action before. :D
Please solder that wire to it's correct place, unless you don't want an electronic noob to nuke that beautiful monitor. ;D
Sending my huge thanks for spending your time with my Ck projects in the past few months! :-*

You can read minds!!  ;D

I just saw this excellent piece of work of Etiènne and I thought exactly the same.  :D :D  Once you get the bezel you could send the scramble bezel to me and I will send this bezel to you.  :)

Great work Etiènne.

one question though: why are you wearing an apron?
my wife complained that i was going to do woodworking in my "good" jeans instead of my "worker" jeans, and i was not in the mood to change clothes, so she "dressed" me

and sometimes i just like to look silly

Make it a logbook: Date sent and place sent from-date received and place of arrival then the km's behind it ;)
