Anyone give out a life times pass to any of this game rooms?  Shit! that can make an adult feel like they are in wonderland, rather than Alice! It's like taking a walk through a Ball Park and playing with some real batters at hand. What a dream come true! Good to know some of these items are in good hands and well preserved. Keep up it Guys! Would like to have the same one day.  ;D....hopefully!?!?!

impressive nintendo lineups, both john and the eggman! :-* :-* :-*

btw, my replacement tool arrived today, so expect an update shortly 8)

man, this blue version is so much better than the green one - which was already a pretty good tool in itself. but i've decided to NEVER buy cheap tools again, you get so much more for your money here ...
all i need is ... PONG - and a select few others: TOUCH ME, DRAGON'S LAIR, JOUST, ROBOTRON, MR DO, SAN FRANCISCO RUSH THE ROCK!!!

Yep blue bosch is the profi line, and you can indeed feel the difference !

Its almost like day and night  :D

I am a huge fan of bosch tools, although i only have the green stuff myself

I have rented blue though, i needed that for a job that the green did not wanted to do, the blue did the job

now that i've got my replacement sanding tool, i can continue with the restoration process. part of my "mantra" is to keep as many original parts as possible - if they are restorable, even if it is only a piece of wood on the back of the cab like this one

as you can see, the battle scars are deep!

but let's see if we can save it anyway - with a lot of bondo

sanded ...

... and repainted! i know that there are still a few dips here and there, but i didn't want to be too anal about it. believe me, even i know when enough is enough and when it's time to stop :P

i would say the damage meter on this particular piece of the cabinet is down to zero - another part of arcade history saved :)

Very nice !

I love it when people try to save things like this, i mean yeah its alot of work, but its so much more rewarding than just cutting a new part !  :spaceace:

also thats part of the hobby i think, this is called restoring, a new piece is replacing, big difference IMHO.

not saying that replacing is bad, but like you state, if you can salvage it and it costs just time rather than money, then why not? a few hours extra on a project like this is well worth it, and aint gonna kill you  ;)

This is too much information for a simple piece of wood on the back of the cabinet. ;) :D

Yes, I think he should make a youtube video for this ;)
Searching Zaccaria Stuff: Zaxxon CPO, JumpBug CPO or CPO Repro
next project: assemble Zaccaria Vanguard.

i thought about doing a 2 1/2-hour video about it, putting it on a dvd and selling it to you guys, but in the end it's just a piece of wood i was trying to save. i will have my video camera with me though when i'll be working on the front :P

on to something visible ;) - the cabinet's front pieces! business as usual: bondoing

after sanding the stuff down, it's time for a fresh coat of vinyl. everything in position ...

... so i can roll it on!

cutting out the grill

NICE!!! :)

now the front plate! in the middle (the orange thingy) you can see a template i cut to make application of the vinyl easier. putting it on with a huge hole in the middle can be a pain in the butt, so this is a nice workaround

roll over beethoven

yezzz - this come out almost perfectly :spaceace: :spaceace: :spaceace:
