it was not in said in the context with him having cancer, i did not even know steve had cancer.
I only heard he had died at the time of posting, not the cause.

[morbid mode on]

Microsoft wins ;)

[/morbid mode off]

  sorry, but you really disappoint me here Etienne. I had rated you a bit higher than this, seriously....

...for once, I'm speechless....

For someone that works for Microsoft, I think that comment sucks...

Competitors make us who we are...  they make us better...  they kick our asses...  they make us innovate...

Without competition, consumers would suffer...

RIP Steve...

C'mon guys, let's get off Etiennes ass here. He wrote something stupid, already edited it and committed his regrets. Time to move on in my opinion.

On topic: rip Steve ... I didn't like all of his inventions but he surely is a big loss for the geek world. Nobody else had such an impact on the entire industry than him. I hope there will be someone who keeps the spirit up ...

R.I.P.

Although I'm not a particular fan of apple and its products, I dó think that Steve Jobs was one of the greatest visionairs of modern time, together with a few other wizzkids from his aera.

And I'm really happy that he did what he did, he made a lot of people happy with his stuff, and he forced apple's competitors to make even greater products.

It really changed my way to work!

Wait until IOS 5 comes out and the iCloud starts working.... ;)  But you're right. I would NEVER return to a Windows based machine. And the iPad2 is simply brilliant.

Without Steve, EVERYONE would have a less brilliant computer or smartphone now. We all know who is the leader, and who are the followers.

I hope Apple can keep it up. They almost lost it in the 90's because they were without Steve. Let's hope that there are smarter guys in charge there now....

Most anti-Apple people act so because of their prejudice.
Most of them never even TRIED an Apple product.

But I'm not talking anybody into one anymore. I used to when I was a PC user. People who knew nothing about computers and wanted one for home use, I advised to get an Apple. Of course nobody listened. Then the phone started ringing because they couldn't get this or that basic thing working. Then I kindly reminded them of my advice and wished them luck.... :D

I was able to keep my PC's running because I knew a lot about them. I never loved them though.
I kept using my Jackintosh (Atari ST) well into the 90's until I couldn't anymore. At the time, Apple was no serious alternative.
Buying a Mac Mini in 2006  (being tired of maintaining Windows machines instead of using them) was one of my better decisions in life.

Never say never, my friend...

I can say that Windows 8 rocks!  I have had the opportunity to play with Win8 on slate/touch devices...    :o
