"Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do."

This is tragic, and a loss of a great man.

I know I've already posted it but I really like this picture of him and Wozniak working on Breakout.

  sorry, but you really disappoint me here Etienne. I had rated you a bit higher than this, seriously....
...for once, I'm speechless....
-
Okay okay, i said it before, it was just a joke
anyway, post editted, dont want to offend anybody
-
Cya in Heaven Steve. :'(
If there is a heaven I hope to play a game of Breakout against him....
@Etienne:
I think people dying of cancer is NEVER a good moment for a joke, I'm sure we ALL know at least 1 person who died from it....
Besides, it was a really poor joke ....
-
Yeah, your right, i take it back
and yes, i know someone that died of cancer too.. my old man..
-
2 times bad news from Apple.
First no real new iPhone (iPhone 4S sucks) and now Steve. :-/
-
I had cancer, I am healed, others not so lucky, ciao Steve ... :(
Berny
-
From what I understand only 4% survive pancreas cancer, which steve had.
-
Yeah, your right, i take it back
and yes, i know someone that died of cancer too.. my old man..
Now you got my speechless again....
-
it was not in said in the context with him having cancer, i did not even know steve had cancer.
I only heard he had died at the time of posting, not the cause.
but yeah, in that sence it was way out of line..

For someone that works for Microsoft, I think that comment sucks...
Competitors make us who we are... they make us better... they kick our asses... they make us innovate...
Without competition, consumers would suffer...
RIP Steve...

C'mon guys, let's get off Etiennes ass here. He wrote something stupid, already edited it and committed his regrets. Time to move on in my opinion.
On topic: rip Steve ... I didn't like all of his inventions but he surely is a big loss for the geek world. Nobody else had such an impact on the entire industry than him. I hope there will be someone who keeps the spirit up ...

But I can understandShilmover's comment too as he works for Microsoft.
-
Steve, thank you... for the Apple II, Mac, NeXt, iPod, iPhone, MacBook Air and iPad.... RIP :'( :'( :'( :'(
-
R.I.P.
Although I'm not a particular fan of apple and its products, I dó think that Steve Jobs was one of the greatest visionairs of modern time, together with a few other wizzkids from his aera.
And I'm really happy that he did what he did, he made a lot of people happy with his stuff, and he forced apple's competitors to make even greater products.

Things are now more easy since I got the 'suite' iPhone, iMac and iPad2!
It really changed my way to work!
RIP Steve :'(

Wait until IOS 5 comes out and the iCloud starts working.... ;) But you're right. I would NEVER return to a Windows based machine. And the iPad2 is simply brilliant.
Without Steve, EVERYONE would have a less brilliant computer or smartphone now. We all know who is the leader, and who are the followers.
I hope Apple can keep it up. They almost lost it in the 90's because they were without Steve. Let's hope that there are smarter guys in charge there now....

I was like you, before trying an iMac 2 or 3 years ago (thanks to Arcadefever)!
Never say never ::)

Most anti-Apple people act so because of their prejudice.
Most of them never even TRIED an Apple product.
But I'm not talking anybody into one anymore. I used to when I was a PC user. People who knew nothing about computers and wanted one for home use, I advised to get an Apple. Of course nobody listened. Then the phone started ringing because they couldn't get this or that basic thing working. Then I kindly reminded them of my advice and wished them luck.... :D
I was able to keep my PC's running because I knew a lot about them. I never loved them though.
I kept using my Jackintosh (Atari ST) well into the 90's until I couldn't anymore. At the time, Apple was no serious alternative.
Buying a Mac Mini in 2006 (being tired of maintaining Windows machines instead of using them) was one of my better decisions in life.
-

Never say never, my friend...
I can say that Windows 8 rocks! I have had the opportunity to play with Win8 on slate/touch devices... :o

No, It doesn't suck... A5 processor like iPad 2 (double the speed) 8MP camera with improved optics 64GB space... and lots of other features... and I love the 4's design.. I hated the metal "roundy" back that wobbled on the table and the metal scratched up etc... I'm upgrading mine to 4S! It was too soon since 4 came out. A 4S was expected. Now, around this time next year expect the 5. If you've had more than one iPhone, you know the release schedule by now... ;)
-
After all the semi-retirements before, I had not see this coming. I was expecting the rabbit from the hat at least once more....
The best stuff I enjoyed from him was our first MacPlus and SE/30, the second was my work horse during my study. After I graduated, I bought an awesome G4 tower with my first salary. I loved OSX Jaguar. Then came my all time favourite, the MacMini. The current instalment is the best computer ever. But with Steve also went my faith in Apple. The new direction is far from what I like. The iMacs are seriously ugly (in a Audi Q7 kind of way), OSX Lion is the worst OS in a long time, and IOS is going down the hill too. Thanks Steve for 25 years of Apple fun, I'll have to do it with Windows 7 and 8 from now on. BTW, Your mini is the best Win7 machine I ever had!
-
This is now the reason why i am looking for an Apple ][
-
So, Steve made it at the gate
