i need some resto input for the tank tracks. here's how they looked originally

as you can see, they used some kind of dark grey / black rubber mat, probably the same used on star wars and stuff (impossible to tell what color it was back then)!

i have two replacement options: either classic black ...

... or light grey

compared with the color of the track sideart, the light grey would fit nicely, but when viewed from the front, i'd say the black fits in better with the black front of the cab. what do you think? black or grey?
all i need is ... PONG - and a select few others: TOUCH ME, DRAGON'S LAIR, JOUST, ROBOTRON, MR DO, SAN FRANCISCO RUSH THE ROCK!!!

I think black would make a nice contrast with the wheel sideart.

dont know you got this, but that could take care of your bolt problem..

20 mm. + = every size under 20 mm.  ;D

yes, you say that the store does not carry +-18 mm that you need, only 16 or 20mm

I was thinking, these kind of screws should be available in any well sorted hardware store because they're metric...

ah, i see. well, i took a space m4 screw i had which is much longer than 20 millimeters and it screwed in nicely, so 20mm will work out fine!

not at the hardware stores i have around here! anyway, in the meantime i've ordered at modelfixings and since i needed some other stuff as well and shipping is cheap it was a no-brainer. let's see how fast (or slow) delivery is ...

Just a little word to congratulate superully for this very well detailed WIP report.
I missed the orginal "day one" post and read it yesterday in a one shot.
A real delight to read and follow, especially the unbelivable airport delivery.  :-*

Keep it up.

Pierre.

thx for the kind words, pierre! the airport delivery was indeed unbelievable and to be honest, i've had many many doubts in my mind whether this is really going to work out - especially with the monitor. but pat came through and proved to be one hell of a guy!!! :-*

the vindicators restoration is up to now one of the most interesting, exciting and rewarding restorations i have done so far - can't wait to put everything back together again (except for the controllers which already give me the creeps)!

For what it's worth: The Vindicators that was for sale a couple of years ago over here in Holland. I took the pics with my phone so lousy quality.

Just for what it's worth:

It played fine, quire enjoyed the gameplay. I was looking at it for someone else who was interested though...
