I think it draws less that that, actually. You all think that I think that it draws more. But that's not the case.

I think, if Bruno would measure the total load of the G3 once running, with all lights, projectors and speakers on, that it would be less than 1400w. I know it's trivial, but my Electrolux vac draws about 900 watts, which is more than plenty considering it sucks quite intensly.

But, ofcourse I may be dead wrong because I know there are plenty of fans in there. Both the projectors and controlboxes need good cooling. So.. I am just curious.

Given the fact that Bruno will be playing this monster a long while, probably having regular parties with the thing switched on for hours (I know I would), the electrical bill would rocket so high that Bruno would need to work three jobs to compensate.

I think that the "1400" is a safety measure to ensure that the location hosting the G3 has prepared a good power line. I wouldn't be surprised if the actual wattage was half that.

Indeed, i was thinking you thought i drew more  :D

like i stated before:

lets see, it has 2 beamers, audio system and the pcb sets and some fluorecent tubes.

i guess its not drawing more than max 1250 watts at 220 Volts.

What does the manual say Bruno ?

(Or what is the rating of the huge stepdown converter used ? )

Haha.. I'm just being meticulous, rediculously meticulous. Forget it. I tend to do that when I'm impatient for something to happen, it's a mental illness.

Anyway. I am confident that the G3 eats power like Pacman eats dots. So when, if, I ever come by Bruno's in the future to play this awesome pieces of historical wonder, I will be sure to bring with me some sort of contribution. If not the classical offering in the form of a virgin maiden, then at least a financial compensation that will allow the G3 to continue its life without Bruno losing his shirt over it.

EPISODE 10: "OMG"

Starring : Darth Nuno, Dad & Sam
Guest star : Darth Nunette

Let's start the 'hard work' around the 'front/entrance' of the Theater. Here You can see that huge central part, and its three 'pillars'...

...now attached.

This huge part, as you can guess, will host the two Sony projectors. An other view :

The two external pillars will be fixed to these two parts on the base

a better view :

The central pillar will be fixed here :

Well, it's time to do the frightening job of "lifting & rotating" that heaaaavvvvyyyyyy 'central' part with its pillars attached!
I've seen that operation executed on the GT6 re assembling videos from our Japanese friends. They were a lot of guys for doing the job
Mhhh, what the installation manual says?

"this step requires 4 people...."

...and no mention about rotating all the thing with the pillars attached?

Because we are only  ...three () people at the moment, I decide to go with the 'Japanese' way! Carpe Diem  8)

Done. Once the part in place, no need to maintain it anymore Sam  ;) Ok... in the name of safety then  ;)

Ok, I can fix all the screws... but something wrong regarding the central pillar: a part is missing?

Yes, the central pillar is supposed to be maintained by two metal plates, but there's only one of them... No problemo, let's add a custom one  ;D

The central part, once in location is very stable, and the other front parts (gates to come) will consolidate it even more. So I'm sure my custom part would not be necessary, but it's just an additional security for me. Done

Speaking about the front gates, here's the right one. It need a good cleaning first...

My Dad & Sam are here today because as you guess, it's the 'big parts' moving day  ;D. Ok, right front gate 'on location'  8)

Front left gate on location... I'm connecting all the cables between these new parts...

No, I'm not powering that machine now  ::) ...

...I'm just doing a short break!  ;D ...

...because yeah! I more & more realize a Galaxian Theater is taking shape in front of me, see

View from the top :

Hey, I didn't noticed this?

Bad alignment of the side plate and the front! What to do?

... roll back? ...nahn!  ;D Fixed now!  :)

View from the 'inside'

Still few small parts to fix to the front gates...

... a lot of wires/connectors to check...Namco did it well, impossible to go wrong!  :-*

Darling? Come and see my new arcade game?  ::)

"OMG!"

 ;D

Great last pic.....I know Mrs.Nunette is not the tallest person so the G3 looks even more monstrous in size :D

About the power rating: The figure indicated is always something of a maximum. However, you have to remember that if you switch on stuff, the power surge is a lot MORE than the nominal rating. And operators didn't want to have their fuses blowing everytime they power up, so yes the 1400W is likely a bit on the high side.
After power up, the consumption varies a bit for about all machines.
It's always nice to hear the power up of my SW cockpit f.i., it really gives a audible OOOMP....for a short while. Love that sound...

Just out of curiosity, did you ever get the keys for the projector hatches?

I had expected that you would put the theater with the entrance towards the position of the camera
