EPISODE 11: "Let's name it..."
Starring : Darth NunoHey, this part of the V3 is almost empty!
No more huges parts...
This metal beast is quite cool... but still has no name on it?
Ahhhaaaa! OK! Here we are... I have this ...'marquee'? since so many years in my office or my attic, and now it is here! ... almost on location!
A quick look inside...interesting : a bulb fixed on a 'rotary/motorized' platform? Yes, and on each side of the marquee! How cool it will look once plugged! Can't wait guys!
Let's name it!
Galaxian³ ...Rise!
Here's the 2nd 'marquee' ... the original one that came with the first
Theater6 mission : Project Dragoon!
That one was hidden under the 'Attack Of The Zolgear' marquee kit ('Attack Of The Zolgear' is the 2nd and last game done by Namco for the
Theater6)
It looks in very good condition to me (normal, it has been hidden/protected by the 'Zolgear' marquee for many years), expect there are a lot of @#%*? on it!?
I would say it's the remain of 20 years old 'coke/ice cream/candies?'... Beuark!
I'm lucky, only one tatoo ... M+I ?
Damn it! All that dirt was not easy to remove. I had to use strong products, mostly my usual 'sticker remover liquid' but very carefully... I didn't want to ruin this unique marquee! Done
Let's sub-name it!
My initial idea was to present the GT6 in its original "
Galaxian³ Theater6 / Project Dragoon" setup... I mean without any Zolgear items, but 4 'lamp covers' are missing as you can see in the previous picture. These 4 'lamp covers' was removed by the operator (original owner) when he applied the 'Zolgear' kit. Because yes, in order to apply the 'Zolgear' kit, the 4 central 'lamp covers' have to be removed. Here's one 'lamp cover', from the edge of the theater
Well, of course I didn't know that, five years ago during the disassembling. Maybe these 4 plastic covers are still somewhere in the basement of that Belgium game room? I doubt it! It's just 4 pieces of plastics... probably trashed since all these years... but who knows? I'll ask the operator if by chance it's still 'somewhere'?
Ok, because I really want to display the original 'Project Dragoon' marquee, but I don't want to let the 4 lamps 'naked' (without their cover), I'll do a Dragoon/Zolgear mix, see
View from the back... not finished of course :
View inside the central part, that will host...
...the two projectors :
The projectors wires are going down inside one of the three pillars, the central one...
...and at the base of that pillar, a connector for the Bose bass speaker,...
...which is now connected and on location
And of course, these two huge wires are going inside the middle PCB rack, via the 'tunnel' between player seat #3 and #4
So, to resume, most of the cables are located here, inside the central pillar...
...now hidden, and protected by this plate!
The End
