...and the result is here  8)

Ok, back on the topic  ;)

So I got the same TV model than the one in the cab #1.  :)

I dismantle it, and I fix the tube + chassis inside the original Daytona monitor frame :

Jesus! Dust

Let us this air compressor :

Far better  :-*

Let's fix all that stuff inside the cab #2

Now, both cabs' have the same display  :-*

OK, it's time to prepare the panel #2  ;) There it is

Of course, I'll do the same job than previously : hacking the hardware of this Logitech Racing Wheel

..alll the details of it, if you plan to do the same  ;)

Ok, I'm connecting the original Daytona wheel pot on the Logitech board, instead the original Logitech one. Same value...so ... it works  :P :-*

For the buttons (up/down, start, change view, and A,B,X,Y), I'm looking for each track on the boards...

...and I hack them like this. Don't forget to use your hot glue gun to protect the soldering, like this

Ok, all the buttons are now 'hacked'  8)

OK, the *bad* thing regarding the panel #2 is ... the condition of some buttons   :(

Some of them are impossible to push... someone used a lighter or something, and use it on the buttons  :ghost:

Hopefully, I've founded two buttons *brand new* (and very expensive by the way  :() : the blue and the green.

The yellow one, on the previous picture is useless : it doesn't match with this button panel... it's a button for other SEGA games, like Space Harrier for example.

So I'm still looking for others buttons : the big rounded yellow, and the yellow square + red square. If you know where to buy them, please let me know  ;)  :-*

hmm, looking again, i see the rear of that button is quite specific, i wonder if you could hack new fronts onto the old connectors, the front of the buttons from arcadeshop look correct at least ???

Thanks for the link Polaris  ;) I'll check if the size/shape is the same.
I'll also check the price again at http://www.namusco.be. I've got theses two buttons (red+green square)

..from them. I'm sure they still have new ones, but I know it's expensive  :? :? :? That's the reason why I'm looking for other place to buy them

OK, back to work  8)

Before to hack the gear shifter, let's clean the 'gear box'. I remove the shifter and ... hey?!... 2€ ... I'm rich  :P

Let's remove all the panel now

Ouch... dust (cough cough)  :o

After cleaning the stuff... let's put a *BRAND* new panel

Expect to pay at least 500€ for a *working* Daytona USA twin. Don't go for more than 700€ ... but of course, if this game it on your 'must have' list and the condition of the game is very good, it's up to you  ;D

...but once again, there's no real quotation on arcade games... so the price is between 0€ (something we can be very lucky)  to .... hum ... a lot of money  :-\ So many factors  :?

Well, I'm already able the hack the shit gear up/down electronic signals from the XBOX hardware, but the original Daytona panel has a 4 gears box (with 3 switches), with no middle position  :?. It would require to change it into a 'UP/DOWN' gear box (the one from an original OutRun2 panel for example).

So I'm doing the same thing than the cab #1. It'll use the shift gear for the usual up/down controls, inside the game menu for example.
Check this video, at approx 30 seconds from the start  ;)

Time to hack the pedals... Ouch ... Dirty

Of course the pedals need to be cleaned  :P
