my fellow arcadians 8)! you should know by now that the apartment i'm living in at the moment is only a temporary solution. i'm planning on moving (hopefully in summer), trying to find a place big enough to house all my games - which is not going to be easy :-\. anyway, it was my birthday two weeks ago and for that event i had planned to "upgrade" my existing gameroom a notch so that my guests wouldn't have to walk, sit and eat between tables, games and cat toilets. i'd like to show you (in short) what i have done and (later) how it looks like right now - including a short video tour!
let's start with some electronic stuff! my living room is very big, one half of it is reserved for my games, the other half for television and computer stuff. i have four ceiling fluorescent lights installed, the problem is that the wiring of those wasn't the way i had hoped it would be. in order to change that (i don't want to bore you with too many details), i "flew in" my good friend markus who works for a huge german electricity company. he's the guy to ask when it comes to high voltages … :ghost:
the first thing he did was check the wiring in order to find out whether there could be an easy fix to the problem - of course there wasn't!
the thing with markus is that while his electrical knowledge is great, he has the tendency to break stuff when he's working at my place: he broke three energy saving lamps within one hour when he helped us set up electricity, he crashed my moon patrol 5 minutes after dragging it up into my apartment and now - about 2 minutes into this operation - here's the first casuality of war (he tries to hide it in his hand - but without success ;))
no easy fix here either :(
(http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5057/5495533016_1b3a3dd6f8_b_d.jpg)
in order to make this work, we have to rewire the fluorescent lamps - and in order to make me understand what we're doing, markus has made one of his famous sketches :P
(http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5297/5495531914_fd0d9cfb0c_b_d.jpg)
i'm moving a couple of my games out of the way to give us enough working space (note my christmas tree in the background - it was the end of january :D)

down it goes
(http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5299/5495534056_bfefc4e366_b_d.jpg)
off it comes
(http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5099/5495534226_b99a8d7fe2_b_d.jpg)
rewired it gets
(http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5171/5495534558_62b1b16464_b_d.jpg)
success!!! :spaceace: :spaceace: :spaceace:
i also installed a couple of power managers (for easy power-up), tons of extensions cords, cable trenches, some more fluoerescent lights behind the games AND a whole new curtain system which seperates my gameroom nicely from the rest of the living-room. i can easily close-off the area as a surprise for visitors who have never been to my place - works like a charm.
my cat gnocchi is also curious about what's hiding behind those orange curtains, but he has to wait just a little while longer for the grand opening to the public - and so will you 8)!

STAY TUNED!!!
-
I sense the huge ELEKTRO sign behind the curtains ::)
-
Hmm, im curious whats behind the curtains !
stop teasing, start posting pics ;)
-
Sorry to ruin the suspense here but I know what's behind the curtain.
Ully sent me an email last week explaining that he was able to bend the "elektro" sign and to shape it this way:
-
Can't wait!!!!
-
I like the Marble Madness cab. Simple style, but still fresh
-
Really ? I really don't like the System-x cabs....some great games in them though and MM is one of my favorites...
-
Come on Ully, open the curtains, and show us ... the heaven :-* :-* :-*
Pics pics pics pics pics pics pics pics

i bet too on the elektro light :) can not wait to see the video
-
i bet too on the elektro light :) can not wait to see the video
i have to disappoint you guys - the elektro light definitely is NOT behind the curtains, it's still rusting in pieces on top of that building. i hope to have an update on this soon, give me some more time for the pics and the video of my temporary gameroom. it's another week of school holidays, so i should have enough time to finish this. unfortunately, the addition of the neon sign will have to wait!
-
come on Ully, enough do do, just show us the pics! - how long time can that take??? SOU!
-
indeed! Show us those beautiful machines! ;D ;D
-
ok guys, first the bad news (although it sounds funny): i grabbed one of the school's camera which allows me to shoot videos in nice quality and placed it on top of a cupboard. one of my cats, gnocchi, jumped up there and accidently pushed it down . guess what: it's broken! :'(
BUT i don't want to keep you guys waiting any longer - at least not for the pictures! note that two of the games which were originally in the middle row (moon patrol and wizard of wor) quit working right before my birthday party - and defender did so right after the party. so normally there are four games in the left row, five games in the middle row and four games in the right row . making it a total of 13 games in my temporary gameroom. at the moment, i'm down to 10 (working), but it's still looking good. :)
so, without further ado - here's superully's ELEKTRO gameroom (sans the neon sign and a couple of games)!
left row

note that all my games are either running on freeplay or have been converted to accept tokens - but more on that topic later. as you can imagine, the room is full now (and i don't want to pull any more games in there anyway because of the "hole in the floor issue"), so i definitely need to move to another location ... stay tuned 8)
p.s. the video will have to be delayed until the camera issue has been resolved!

SWEEEEEEETT :spaceace: :spaceace:

Nice ;D
Have fun
-
Very nice cabs in mint conditions, congrats Ully, looking great! ;D
-
No food for the cat for two weeks ! ;)
Looking great !!!
I'm glad the Berzerk is still up and running :)
What's wrong with the WoW ?
-
What's wrong with the WoW ?
this (http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=175420) is wrong - i'm afraid it's the monitor again!
-
Everything is soooo mint, it looks like pictures from the opening of an arcade in the 80's. :spaceace: :spaceace: :spaceace:
EDIT: but I'm a bit concerned about Markus, he seems to have mysteriously disappeared behind that curtain after his last "mistake"...weird...
-
what a great sight! Do you also have pictures with the lights on?
-
Not so bad for a gameroom without racers ;).
Your Missile Command looks like in a good condition too.
-
Looks like a candy shop for the big guy's! Yummie what a nice collection. :P

i do, here are some i took this afternoon (games off) with a wide-angle lense (therefore the distortion)

Your Gauntlet with that ghettoblaster rocks!!! ;D
-
Not so bad for a gameroom without racers ;).
funny that your mentioning that - i've been thinking the exact same thing just the other day. once i'm done with the games i still need to finish (or get working again), i will most likely turn my attention to championship sprint. i need to have a driving game in my temporary gameroom! the question is going to be where to put it ... :P
Your Missile Command looks like in a good condition too.
i have done almost nothing in my MC, condition is pretty nice. it could use some new t-molding and minor tweaks, but that's it. the biggest thing i did was install a hi-score save kit along with super missile attack just yesterday!
-
Where are the neon, posters, arcade goodies, black light, laser beam and indirect lighting... it's a way 'too' clean, like putting games temporary in a grand-father room :? No offense of course but that's my first impression 8)
-

Isn't there software to correct that ? I'm not an expert but I heard or read about that....not sure, but I though you can select what lens you used and the software corrects the distortion....don't ask me how/what software....
Great pics nevertheless....

no offense taken, bruno, not at all! BUT first of all, this is just temporary, hopefully i will be moving out in summer, so i'm not going to invest too much money into it. second, my personal opinion is that most of the gamerooms i've seen so far are totally overloaded with stuff - drawing too much attention away from the games. my future gameroom will have a nice 70s/ 80s color-scheme, it will (probably) have a couple of posters, it will have some (hidden) translucent tubes and a hi-score board, it will have blacklights and a blacklight carpet, but i won't be placing arcade goodies everywhere, i won't be putting up any beer signs or useless neon signs - in short: i won't put anything in there which doesn't serve a real purpose.
of course everyone has his own opinion on this - and that's mine. i personally think that a little less is much more!
-
Yeah that's a matter of taste and the fun part that is that you are totally free to choose your own style etc. I mean, for those who have relations, you know what I mean ;) ;) ;)
It's also fun to see what others do !!!
-
Your gameroom totally lacks vectors, black&white games, 1 or 2 EM games, plus at least one pinball!
;D
But otherwise great collection! ;)

well, b&w games are going to be added later, i'm working in getting some vectors (or does a vectrex count?), you all know that i'd also like to add some em games BUT you will never ever in a million years see a pinball machine in there. well, if i got one for free, i might put it in a dark corner, but other than that ... :P
but once again, to each his own!
-
I like it, its clean and tidy.
although a little more "dark" atmosphere would be cool. (but i guess thats when the blacklight is on and the normal lights are out :) )
the thing i like that you did is; keep some space between the cabs, so you can see also the sidearts.
-

That's a luxury not everyone can "afford" ;)
-
Very nice pictures, your cabs are really in a A+++ condition :o
-
Yes, I can confirm that. Seeing them in real life is still different then pics, but Ully knows how to restore !
I slept with his Pac Man, WoW and Defender and I just kept looking at them...admiring them :P
-
Is the legend true; do you really have to wear white silk gloves to play those cabs?
-
Is the legend true; do you really have to wear white silk gloves to play those cabs?
not just gloves, we're speaking of full body armor here! of course everyone has to go through decontamination procedures first before entering the gameroom. 8)

Yes.....he was wiping my sweat from the cabs constantly when I was there and the Elektro arcade felt like an Elektro OVEN !
;D ;D ;D

Whaaaaa ... a Gauntlet cabinet. One of my favorites. Great when played with 4.
Nice arcade room !!
-
now that computer space has moved into my gameroom along with the red tent while quite a few other games have said goodbye, i thought it would be a good time to shoot a fresh set of pictures of my current lineup. atm, everything's working 100% thanks to magic jochen who fixed the display issue on my centipede today :) not a lot to add, just enjoy the pictures

three games on the left (centipede, pac-mania, pac-man), two in the middle (red tent, gauntlet), five on the right (rally, missile command, moon patrol, frogger, berzerk / frenzy), one in the background (computer space). i will hopefully continue with the restoration of the bubble bobble in the christmas holidays (it's about time) which will then move into the left row, but that's basically it for my apartment! don't wanna push the limits of the construction ... :-[
-
Looking Good!!! Really like your lighting, how did you make that??
-
Looks very nice ully !
Man i love that rally, such a great cabinet
-
Always good to see games in pristine condition. Well done, Ulli!
-
sweeeeeeeeet stuff, mate!!!
-
Very nice. :)
-
love the postmodern retro look - or something like that - great work!!

looks very nice Ully

Nice! Having a heated gameroom where you can just walk in and play is a priceless luxury.

Really like your lighting, how did you make that??
i have those "light tubes" behind the individual cabs, orange on the left, blue on the right

and in the middle there are these "things" with green tubes inside (no idea what they are called). found them on ebay and would love to have more, but it's difficult to look for something if you have no idea what to look for exactly :P

This looks fantastic Ully! Really love the orange lightning as others have already mentioned.
Have to do this in my gameroom too :)
-
Indirect lightening rulez!
:spaceace:
-
Very nice cabinets :) I am always impressed about the condition of your cabinets, Ully. I really like the way you restore those cabinets with abandon.

Nice setup....both, cabs and room :)

normally it would have already been picked up by a guy from austria and everything was in motion, but 10 minutes into the roadtrip someone drove into his van - thus ending the roadtrip quickly. he still wants it, but is having problems finding a new means of transportation ...
-
:o Arh man, that sugs! Hope he is ok..
-
Hope you had a good deal with that, Ully: you sure will miss it :'(

ok guys, i'm back from the dead - again 8)! after moving into my new house, i have finally started to bring a few games home - they've been in storage way too long!

This should reboost you to the max!
-
thx for your warm "welcome back", guys - feels good to be home :-*!
anyway, the house i have bought is really big, i have 280 m² of living space, BUT not a huge gameroom. i do have a pretty large 80s party room downstairs (with a bar), but since there are doors on almost every wall it's not ideal to put cabs in there. i'm either going to have a pool table or a ping pong table in there in the middle of the room. adjacent to the party room is a nice cozy sauna and adjacent to that is my gameroom to be. not huge, but i can put around 16 games in there - and to be honest i think that's more than enough. took me a while to get to that point (of thinking) ...
eventually, i will have a nice party area downstairs with a bar, a pool / ping pong table, a sauna and an arcade gameroom - should be a lot of fun once it's finished! additionally, i will have 2 or 3 games in various spots throughout the house, e.g. COMPUTER SPACE (which imho is a piece of art that needs to be displayed properly) is in our huuuge living room and upstairs (where i have my "private movie theater") is RALLY which is also a cool piece of art! i', thinking about putting the RED TENT in the entry hall, but i haven't decided on that yet! still have a few games to sell to make the cut ...
@chris: man vs snake - where can i watch that? 8)
-

Who needs a sauna? A room for sweaty people to sit next to each other? I say that's room for at least six more arcade cabs ;)
Just kidding, sounds like you found a great place to live!
-
The question is; is it closer to holland ? :D ;D
-
Sounds good, Ully.
...... i can put around 16 games in there - and to be honest i think that's more than enough. took me a while to get to that point (of thinking) ...
Knowing your 'collection addiction' from the past, this must have been one of your most difficult decisions ever made! chapeau. :) :) I also have to size down my collection to about 16 games, but I'm struggling for years now to decide which 5-6 games have to go. ??? And you came from a lot more games!!

That's exactly where I am at the moment in my "collector career"...
I'm at 25 machines now, hopefully soon 23.
It's getting really really hard to decide who's leaving next.

sniff. but i know somebody who would like that idea for sure. ;)
-
Sounds like anice basement Ully. I 'm still on 50 pins and about 10 cabs. Don't feel like down sizing but currently my basement gameroom holds 16 and that is good for me. Just have to motivate myself to swich some cabs now and then. Just started again with designing the bar area. Have a look.
-
Great to hear you're settled, and awesome trio!
-
Nice to see you back Ully, we missed you! ;)
-
all good things must come to an end - and there's always a new beginning! with that being said, after working on it for a DAMN LONG TIME, i'm proud to announce that in two days time (which "coincidentally" also is my birthday) i'll be FINALLY starting my youtube channel called "Superully's Elektro Arkade". Over the past few months i've been pretty busy going on roadtrips, visiting arcade meetings, doing restoration stuff, destroying things , testing tech and - of course - filming / editing everything. all that (and so much more) can be "re-lived" on my channel - STARTING this sunday. i've put up two short trailers as an appetizer which you can check out and (hopefully) enjoy at the following links:
intro trailer - short version (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZOdan-j6YI)
intro trailer - extended version (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95U8v0WYCg4&t=1s)
if you like what you get, if you wanna follow the first german arcade channel or if you simply want to support me, make sure to click on the red button ...
p.s.: YES, the channel is (and will be) in german, but it's the content that counts, not the language!
-
Cool! Looking forward to it. Subscribed! :)
-
I read this far:
all good things must come to an end
and got a bit sad, my brain jumped to the conclusiopn that another fellow is getting out of the hobby.
But I quickly realized that´s not the case at all ;D
Sadly my german is as good as my klingon.
Best of luck with the channel
-

thx man, thinking about adding subtitles in the future, although this would mean a horrendous amount of extra work. don't know if it's worth it though, this channel is just something i wanted to do for a long time and i see it as a fun project ...

Cool looking forward to it..... But maybe you should do it in proper Dutch and not in that funny local accent ;D ;D
-
Subtitles would be awesome ofcourse, but i understand if that is something that never will happen.
Bet you have more important stuff to do with your time.
But maybe you could do it in english? ;D

Good job Ully!!!
I LOVE the Amiga Demo type music in the end...
Reminds me of Odyssey.
;D
-
Looking forward to the videos - was it this sunday (yesterday) or the coming sunday?
And a late Happy Birthday! :)
-
thx michael! got a little delayed because of my birthday, but it's rendering as we speak and will be uploaded later today ... i'll keep you guys posted!
-
thx michael! got a little delayed because of the english subtitles that I had to add
Fixed it for you
-
thx michael! got a little delayed because of the english subtitles that I had to add
Fixed it for you
not bad guys, but atm it's simply impossible to add subtitles. i know that this disqualifies for a lot of foreign viewers, but that's something i'll have to live with for myself ...
-
ok, the first "real" episode is up, it shows the current (at the time of filming) state of my house, my gameroom-to-be and a critical decision i'm taking for future developments!
you can check it out right here (https://youtu.be/7ZpEGLOA-Ok)!
have fun - although it is in a strange accent :P
p.s.: in case you haven't done so yet, why don't you click on SUBSCRIBE to support my channel? thx a lot 8)
-
Just watched the episode, really liked it, and liked the way you described the Space Wars game - informative!
Though, i would have loved if you had used the German title for Star Wars, that would have been cool :D
-
thanks michael, i didn't use the german title because i think KRIEG DER STERNE sounds totally lame, although it is a perfect translation of the original english title!
glad that you enjoyed the show, i have a nice computer space video coming up and really A LOT OF other stuff i have already filmed, it's just a matter of editing. my goal is to be "a little bit faster" than the ARCADE IMPOSSIBLE guys - which should be no problem at all :P. have to decide on which video to edit next though, i have some restoration stuff, some roadtrippin', some arcade meetings, some tech stuff and and and ...
-
Loved your video Ully. Can't wait to see how you gonna take out that wall and extend your gameroom. Keep it coming 👍👍👍
-
Very nice... understood most of it 8)
Star wars in Swedish..... Stjärnornas Krig
-
Congrats to episode 1 :!:
When you spoke about your maximum amount of cabs in the past, I just sat here :o
You really have a great collection of games, cant wait to see the Nintendo section ;)
-
Cool episode! With all your machines and that house you have enormous potential for a cool show. :spaceace:
I fully understand that you want to do this in your own language, but is there any chance that you can subtitle new videos in English? https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/2734796?hl=en
Looking forward to the next!
Arch
Edit: ok, I didn't read the thread above. Subtitles are hard to implement, I understand. Still, I enjoyed the show! Keep'em coming!
-
I don't understand anything, but the video is fantastic. Very funny! :)
-

if only there were a program that would create subtitles automatically and all you had to do is check if they are correct and edit them if not ...
-
Nice place and video Ully !
-
Love it !
cant wait for S01E02 ;D :spaceace:
-
just finished editing and uploading the latest episode! this time we're going on the road to pick up an airhockey table for the party room, but not only that: we're going to unload it, re-assemble it and - of course - play a round of airhockey as well. finally, some serious destruction is going to happen at the end of the video ...
you can check out episode 2 right here (https://youtu.be/LcY01W4ES1U)
oh, and in case you haven't done so yet, i'd be happy if you clicked on the red button to support my channel and to give me some additional motivation! THX GUYS!!! spread the word, superully is in da house ...
-
Great 2nd episode! :spaceace:
The first thing I thought about when you guys carried the table into the room was "why did´nt you remove that stupid lamp" :D :D
But great addition, Airhocky is so much fun! :spaceace: :spaceace:
-
I'm really happy, that after so many years of collecting and zillion kms of roadtrips, you finally have a gameroom. ;)
Those disco lights rocks. ;D
-
thx, well at least it's a work in progress
-
the latest episode of superully's elektro arkade is out. this time, we are moving games around - from the gameroom-to-be into the garage in order to be able to tear down a wall for a bigger gameroom experience (which will be happening in one of the next episodes)!
you can enjoy the show by clicking here (https://youtu.be/RH4jE34XwkI) ...
-
Cute little video this time!
I found it hilarious when played 2x speed, and you moved the cabs with the plastic on them - that sound!! :D :D
And I wonder what youre going to break bext time, besides the wall... ::)
-
just got back from a fantastic arcade party at dirk's and thorsten's, so i thought it would be a good idea to release an older party video i filmed in the summer of
69 last year!
the guys at FOR AMUSEMENT ONLY near frankfurt opened their doors for a full day of arcade fun at their location - and you can check out my take on it by clicking here!!! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W4NiUU1BBEM)
have fun, guys :spaceace:
-
Wow! great episode!
All those cool games! - and like you said; That 8 player Daytona USA.... damn I would kill to have room for such a beast!
Also liked your "review" of the Space Pilot, that was a simple and yet übercool EM game!!!
-
ok guys, this time something completely different and totally NOT-ARCADE-RELATED! i've bought myself a nice new little toy and thought i could do a video about it in case someone cares :P
i'm testing a robotic vacuum cleaner of the chinese manufacturer xiaomi - my favorite company from china. i think they make really cool products which are of high quality!
check out the latest video right here right now!!! (https://youtu.be/or2240by8q8)
p.s.: next week it's back to arcade business when the wall is finally coming down ...
-
Nice quantity of dust you had there ;D
Funny machine ;D
-
Nice quantity of dust you had there ;D
that's what you get (a) with three cats and (b) when cleaning is not your favorite hobby :P
-
I bought a Romba 8 years ago, and with it came 2 "lighthouses" - they basicly did the same as the wooden plank does, just more elegant :)
Don't know if you can buy it for yours?
-

8 years ago :o? didn't even know those things existed back then ...
as for the wooden plank: you're right, would be cool to have some kind of guards which i could simply put wherever i wanted and thus stop the robot from entering a special area, but i don't think it exists for my chinese machine. i can live with that though, i just have to close the door! :)
-
the time has finally come, time to tear down a wall - well, at least punch a small hole into it so that we don't have to use those things called "doors" anymore ;). so bring in some working colleagues with heavy equipment but - most importantly - don't forget your masks. i promise you, this is going to be one hell of a mess - including an accident at the end
you can enjoy the latest episode by clicking here!!! (https://youtu.be/e2r7v4K619s)
have fun, guys :spaceace:

oh, i almost forgot! got myself a new camcorder
however, since i'm still months behind on editing, don't expect my videos to look and sound differently anytime soon ...
-
OMG, that was some job, but great, the more wall, the easier it is to place the games!
How wide is it?
-
OMG, that was some job, but great, the more wall, the easier it is to place the games!
How wide is it?
exactly my line of thinking. if you have a wall, put games against it! 8)
the opening is 80cm wide, enough to fit all my games through ...
-
the latest episode of my youtube channel shows me visiting this year's toy fair in nuremberg - and having a lot of fun while doing so. unfortunately, it wasn't possible to film everywhere we went and everything we did, but i promise to be back next year even stronger. have fun watching us breathing helium, taking ballons for a walk or playing cardboard pinball machines. oh, and don't miss an unexpected wedding at the end of the episode ...
where? right here!!! (https://youtu.be/t32Eo2MPHqc)
-
Even if I do not understand a single word, I enjoy watching you in these stories :) Keep going the good stuff, even if not always 'arcade related' :)
-

thx bruno, appreciate the kind words. i still have tons of stuff to show you guys and a few ideas for upcoming episodes, meaning: i will keep the (good) stuff coming ...
and if anyone of you guys wants to be featured in a future episode (e.g. YOU, bruno?), let me know and i'll come over with my equipment!!!
-
the next episode is up!
this time, we're following the call of a liquidator who listed quite a few video games on ebay - with horrible descriptions. therefore it's my duty to check those machines in "real life", especially because two arcade buddies of mine asked me to have a closer look at two specific machines with the hopes of bringing at least one back!
the trip was a real adventure and the location alone totally worthwhile the effort ...
join me on the road right here!!! (https://youtu.be/9-NZfD17qGs)
p.s.: sorry for the lousy video quality in between, i didn't want to rush in there with a camera in my hands not knowing what to expect, therefore i used a tiny spy cam on my jacket in the beginning unti i had asked for permission to film!
-
Wow, thank you for that great video! :spaceace:
I am happy that I understand 99% of what you are saying - watching all those Derrick episodes finally paid off! ;D I am looking forward to watch the rest of your videos.
I was very nervous when they carried the cabinet down from the building, I was sure it would fall. That was a great deal, the cabinet is in very nice cosmetic condition.
I wonder who made those red cabs with the white and yellow lines on the sides. Arch and I found the same one in a warehouse in Norway.
-
I have not watched since episode 2, I will but the language barrier is annoying... I want to hear what it´s all about...
-
When is the Neustadt episode comming ?
-
When is the Neustadt episode comming ?
still at the back of the queue! i wanna stick to the chronology and have a few more things to show you guys before neustadt is up (which is partially in english - which might interest some of the guys here). additionally, there's so much stuff happening right now with my gameroom, i wonder if i'll EVER be able to catch up ... :P
-
I just watched the episode where you chop and burn the lamp. Priceless!! ;D I laughed and laughed!
-
I just watched the episode where you chop and burn the lamp. Priceless!! ;D I laughed and laughed!
thx, destroying that lamp brought closure to the story. i hit my head countless times on that stupid thing, don't know why i didn't get rid off it much earlier!?!
-
Nice Episode with the Trog. What a job to get it out of the building and into your car :) amazing price for that moonwalker by the way. Keep them coming 👍
-
Happy Easter, guys!!!
In our latest episode we are using some newfound space to bring a real arcade classic (in orange of course) into the living room. afterwards, we're trying to find a suitable seating option, we're building a nice accessory for the cabinet (including a "platform" to present it) and finally - because time and space allow it - i'll be showing off my "mad gaming skills" :P (don't contemn me, i'll promise to get better within the course of the year).
if you wanna see what's new in the living room, enter the arkade right here!!! (https://youtu.be/5q_3HT9uspQ)

Retro Orange Rocks! 8)

Im glad to see that Im not the only one having an orange DK (though, I would prefer a Red one..)
Ully, you have to get your hands on the Donkey Kong REMIX kit, it's so much fun!!!

i have it installed ;). just need to get better at DK first ...

Nice vid, the intro in the beginning is über cool. ;)
Do you make the post production of your videos on your own?
-
Nice vid, the intro in the beginning is über cool. ;)
Do you make the post production of your videos on your own?
thx bela :-*! yeah, it's basically a one man show (with the occasional cats in between). sometimes it's quite challenging to get out a video each week, especially when there are different cameras involved and the source material is pretty vast - while keeping track of everything else that's happening around me at the moment - and believe me, there's A LOT OF GOOD STUFF going on right now. i'm trying to keep up the "new vid every sunday" rhythm for the next few weeks until i'm ending season 1 (with a cliffhanger? 8)) for a longer (well deserved?) summer break. right now, i still have some great stuff i wanna show you, i'm roughly half a year behind, but i might throw in some newer stuff from time to time ...
-
walls can be everywhere, above us, below us, to the left and to the right - sometimes even where we don't want them to be! in this episode we are carrying out some necessary "wall jobs" like plastering, painting and demolishing - all for the greater good of Superully's Elektro Arkade. once we're done with this pretty boring and tedious work, we can focus on the bigger things which lie ahead!
i know it's not the most interesting of all the episodes i've done so far, but there's a light at the end of the tunnel in the form of an arcade party ...
but for now, grab something to drink (alcohol's fine ;D) and enjoy the latest episode!!! (https://youtu.be/NaM-pj0PHvc)
-
Hahaha, you look great in that mask at the end. ;D ;D ;D
-
cool
looking forward too the next one ;D
-
Great episode as usual! :spaceace:
But why did you need to remove that closet? Did I miss something? Can't you just go round it? :)

thx guys, i appreciate the feedback
But why did you need to remove that closet? Did I miss something? Can't you just go round it? :)
i could, but ...
(a) it was ugly
(b) it was in the way
(c) MASTERPLAN!!! 8)
-
Can't wait to see the master plan unfold. I salute you for all the work especially removing the tiles and the glue that was holding them. I build a gameroom from zero in a new basement and I feel your job is more challenging. Maybe you should not paint the ceiling but replace it with plasterboard. Might be faster.
Keep it up ..... And never give up ;D

thx! you're right, i've thought quite a few times that building something new might have been easier, because nothing goes smoothly, there's always something unexpected around the corner. but that's also part of the fun: working around those issues. as for the ceiling: there's a reason why the paint job is not in this video ... ;)
Keep it up ..... And never give up ;D
i sure will NOT!!!

NEW EPISODE IS OUT!!!
we've been invited to join the opening of the q-arcade, a collection of classic videogames in the basement of the so-called cafe q in coburg. while we're there, we will we testing some of the games they have (as always), anxiously wait for our food and even put our skateboarding skills to the test ... ;D
thx a lot to sven, martin, lutz and andreas for the invitation! we had a great time at your place - and hopefully you guys will as well with this videoclip which you can watch right here!!! (https://youtu.be/po6NXb11eNA)

Lots of familiar machines ....:D

Looks like an amazing place with lots of classics. :o
Thanks for the documentary. ;)
-
Not using The Force in the trench scene.........NOOB !
well, as i've said, it was his first time in the cockpit, you can't blame him :P
-
You're right..... just kidding. Awesome video....keep it up !
-
just like every other sunday here's a new video straight outta
compton superully's elektro arkade:
this time, i'm giving you a short introduction to my workshop, show you the so-called "world machine" and then it's onto the road again for an upgrade of the machine. while we're travelling across germany, i'm not only attempting to break my personal breath-holding record, but we're also visiting a place lost in time which is about to be lost forever ...
buckle up, this is going to be a long ride - hop in by clicking here! (https://youtu.be/bLUrl9yHpOA)
-
after picking up the "world machine" in the last episode, it's time to unload it, assemble / install it and put it into operation. unfortunately we have to do some slight adjustments with the help of a tool which i normally don't come into contact with ...
without spoiling too much: at the end of the episode i will be able to obtain world domination! 8)
are you ready to take on the world? CLICK HERE!!! (https://youtu.be/UerdVHIANQQ)
-
Excellent equipment, using this kind of stuff makes the hobby much more fun. :D
-
Excellent equipment, using this kind of stuff makes the hobby much more fun. :D
thx bela, a "little bit" over the top, but i don't give a sh**. gotta do it with style 8)
-
i thought to myself: after thousands of kilometers on the road, glittering arcade parties and (slow but sure) progress in the basement it's time to return to one of the basic branches of this hobby: the restoration of an arcade cabinet. therefore i crawled deep into "the archive" to get out one of THE classic machines, bring it into my workshop for the full "superully treatment!!
yes, i know, the video is detailed (some might even say too detailed), but since this is the first restauration video on my channel and there are people watching who have never seen a cabinet up close and in depth i thought it might be a good idea to show all the steps necessary to get the game back in shape ...
the restoration starts right here ... (https://youtu.be/-RKnKu5L1V0)
-
Cool video, Ully! Personally I like it when you get down to the nitty gritty details of restoring. It shows that it is not all glamour and glitter! ;)
-

thx arch, you're right, unfortunately no rainbows and unicorns most of the time :P
-
the asteroids restoration continues ...
this time we're taking care of the broken corners and the worn edges of the cabinet. i'm showing you the various products i'm using and how tedious it can sometimes be to reach a nice end result!
fill ... sand ... repeat!!! (https://youtu.be/0mZzF2t4kU4)
-
Your skills and patience are inspiring!
-
Excellent skills, excellent tools. :spaceace:
Asteroids deserved the special Ully treatment. ;D
-
Again, great episode! :spaceace:
-
thx guys, always nice to read comments like that! :-*
next week's episode is going to be a (necessary) "filler episode", but then ... you won't believe what's going to happen next! ;D
-
Great thread & great work! That Congo Bongo is sweeeeet ;D
-
Another great episode, Ully!
When I watch this video, and also the ones from the US where they use "bondo" I find myself wondering if the stuff gives off fumes at all? When I use what I think is the equivalent here in Norway, "chemical metal", I think I loose five years of my life for every cab. The chemical fumes are so bad that they stink up the entire place and leaves my head spinning even if I use a gas mask. :/
-
Really? I totally dig the smell of the stuff i am using, no complaining here!
-
Haha, ok! Each to his own. I had a friend who enjoyed sniffing glue when we were kids, but to the rest of us it was not particularly appealing. :P
The question is though, how prominent is the smell? Like does it fill the room in a way that you would not particularly want to light a match in there? Or is it like toothpaste or strawberry gum? I am trying to figure out whether I should start looking for a new product (currently using a product from Plastic Padding called PP100), or if they all are just as _objectively_ toxic.
-

one smells like gum, the ponal duo is almost without smell. as i've stated before: i never feel being in any danger at all when i'm doing that kind of work!
-
this week's show is a so-called filler episode! before we get into full gear from next week onwards there's something boring (but nevertheless necessary) that has to be done, which i have to show you for continuity reasons alone - otherwise you might get confused later on!
no matter how hard it is, sometimes you have to admit that things aren't working the way you had planned / imagined - in our special case i'm referring to my workspace. i've come to realize that there is simply not enough space to work on machines properly, you always have to move stuff around, step over things and be really careful where you're going. therefore i have to do what has to be done, which means moving everything out into a bigger room - i can't tell you how much i hate that! well, at least you're getting to know the "contents of my workspace" a little bit better ...
let's start the move together!!! (https://youtu.be/1yMsb9eJtc0)
-
after a quick overview about the next steps in the gameroom-to-be there's breaking news live from the elektro arkade!!!
something great is about to happen - something that will put everything upside down ...
click here to watch the breaking news (https://youtu.be/W6d-PYXq7mk)

bigger is better!
I like how all the stock exchanges are rising after this breaking news ;D

Again great episode, and funny thing with the stock's at the bottom of the screen - I hoped you had put something funny in there.... :)

thx michael! putting something funny in the stock's like "denmark sucks" :P was what i had intended first, but i just couldn't find the time to squeeze in something like that. had to go with custom text instead to get the episode out. sorry :'(

Haha, no worries, though, I don't think Denmark sucks :D

episode 1.18:
after last week's breaking news it's time to walk the talk! but before we can go "all in", we have to determine the exact position of the pipes plus remove everything unneccessary from the floors and the ceilings. but don't worry: we are already producing a lot of rubble in this video. however, that's nothing compared to next week's show ...
hammer away!!! (https://youtu.be/r0em116mCFo)
p.s.: a familiar face from a trilogy of films has his first (but definitely not his last) guest appearance!
p.p.s.: in remembrance of the great steinbeck novel "of mice and men" this episode is called "of pipes and walls"
-
Hell of a job with those walls around the pipes :o
-
I love tearing down walls myself, so this video was right up my alley! :)

episode 1.19
the wall crew (aka demolition men) marches up to reduce the remaining walls to rubble and dust. at the end of the day we are standing in what will one day be superully's elektro arkade - in blank shape for now, but you can already see the potential this room has to offer.
let's get down and dirty once more!!! (https://youtu.be/TcALkDf69lg)

thx, andré, i appreciate it and it's great to hear that you can follow me in german. i'm watching a dutch tv program every year called "wie is de mol" and i'm happy that there are versions with english subtitles out there. would be almost impossible to follow the twists and turns otherwise ...

Wie is de mol is a great show :spaceace:

PROGRESS! :o How many square meters is it now?
44 - i might add the second garage (which was a real room before it was converted to a garage) later on which would be an additional 16 square meters roughly. but for now i'm happy with what i have here - especially when you consider the fact that
(a) it is within my house
(b) there's a big party room with a bar directly next to the gameroom
(c) i have a huge workspace on the same level
(d) no stairs to get games in, just go through the garage

Simply a win win win win situation ;D

I think that one thing was proven by the Eurocades @ the clubhouse in Ridderkerk: having a separate gameroom and party room/barroom is simply fantastic for arcade parties....you can take a rest from the visual and audial bombardement of the games every now and then (for some more now than then :D :D) and have a drink, listen to some awful 80's music and actually have a great talk with eachother ;)
It was something that "just happend to be" there at the clubhouse which kinda worked out magically.... :D
-
EC 18 might be an option, 17 is Bruno, although he hasn't confirmed it yet. Would be a GREAT location though ...
That would be awesome :). I had to idea to propose my location for one year to host the event. But I'm a way too short to prepare the game room & organize all the stuff for this year Im afraid...
-
Btw I thought Ully had a new video uploaded, but its "only" saturday. Still 1 day to wait :ghost: ;D
-

are you SURE it can't be done? would be a blast to have a EC at your place. and i'm pretty sure there are quite a few people out there willing to help / support you ...
-
IMHO there's not much to prepare:
Must have:
hotel near the place
restaurant near the place or delivery service (asian/italian/etc)
some chairs/tables AT the place to sit down, talk and drink
decent music
Nice to have:
a few games running
;)
Kidding aside: to ME Eurocade is more meeting the people, talking, having beer and fun. Playing is nice but no must-have!
-
PARTY TIME!!!
we've been invited to a party hosted by dirk and thorsten in their "arcade wonderland". the reason for that description is very simple: a gazillion fantastic video games (and so much more) make their location a mekka for retro fans. but that's only a part of the experience: nice people, yummy food and drinks, atmospheric music and so much attention to detail. but why don't you judge for yourself?
p.s.: because of the length of the original video i have decided to present this episode in two parts!
here's part one (https://youtu.be/ZIirJFhzdVI)
Btw I thought Ully had a new video uploaded, but its "only" saturday. Still 1 day to wait :ghost: ;D
no more waiting 8). enjoy re-living the party!!!
-
Yes!
I was waiting for this video.
I saw myself playing The Driver!
Great game (technically speaking ofcourse)
-

i think The Driver is a fantastic game, not just because of the technical aspect. it's also a lot of fun and makes you give it a try ONE MORE TIME ...
definitely need to make a video of it the next time - hope it's still there then!

Bomber Man??!!! it's Bomb Jack!!
-
Mmmmmm, did I here Luigi mention me :D
Man seeing this......so sad I couldn't be there.......next time next time next time !!!!
-
Wow! looks realy nice!
-
here's the second (and final) part of my visit to the arcade wonderland of dirk and thorsten!
in this episode thorsten is giving us an in-depth look at the gameplay of JOURNEY, his favorite arcade machine. furthermore we are going to "playtest" a few other games PLUS we are travelling back in time for a "musical review" of the 1970s which could be kind of strange for some viewers. don't tell me you hadn't been warned afterwards ... ;)
here's part two (https://youtu.be/PkIqNJBaD90)

in this episode thorsten is giving us an in-depth look at the gameplay of JOURNEY, his favorite arcade machine.
Well, I have to admit that I only have it because Journey is my favourite band ::) The gameplay is terrible and so is the music....they would have deserved something better (technically it would have been possible). And the cab looks amazing IMHO :spaceace:

Really like the video's you're doing Ully! They are informative, fun and very though!
Looking forward to the next one!
-
Thanks for the party videos Ully. Hopefully we will also have an EC party again next year, somewhere.

just got back from a one week school camp with my class
Really like the video's you're doing Ully! They are informative, fun and very though!
Looking forward to the next one!
thx a lot, they are fun to do as well. tomorrow it's neon time!!!
Thanks for the party videos Ully. Hopefully we will also have an EC party again next year, somewhere.
glad that you liked them, videos like that also depend on the people participating. without you guys willing to play or talk crap in front of the camera it would be quite boring. also still not giving up hope for a eurocade this year ...

episode 1.22
in this episode i finally reveal the secret behind the word ELEKTRO in my channel name, because today a journey of six years comes to an end - and a lot of work is about to begin!
All good things come to those who wait …
watch the story unfold right here!!! (https://youtu.be/8e1ZRd6l85Y)
-
That neon is just soooo cool, as is the story of your quest to get it!!
-
AWOSOME!!
:spaceace: :spaceace:
-
I love this ELEKTRO sign more and more :)
:spaceace:
-
thx guys! you will get an update about the condition of the sign next sunday PLUS i will also test the tubes during a "neon roadtrip" 8)
-
episode 1.23
today we're taking a closer look at the elektro neon sign by "dismanteling" it first: what is its condition, what about the neon tubes, what are the next steps? we're also trying a few minor repair strategies and at the end of the episode we're going on a roadtrip which is essential for the sign's future!
start the inspection by clicking here!!! (https://youtu.be/WVB6ygsqY8c)
-
Love it Ully ! Love neons. especially these old ones !!!!!
Awesome job getting it off that dangerous looking "roof"....
I see you numbered the wires but I would advice to replace all wires with new ones. 40/50 years of corrosion probably didn't keep those cables in good condition.....
[Edit] Never mind....I understand everything will be replaced..... :D
[Edit 2] Very cool they're going to restore the old tubes as much as possible. :spaceace:
-
I would help for sure. I am only 50 minutes away. :)
-
:o :o :o
That was really rusty :D
Nice to see, that another piece of art from the past will be saved. :spaceace:
-
thx for your comments and support, guys!
Love it Ully ! Love neons. especially these old ones !!!!!
remember the neon licht sign? really a shame that it got destroyed before i could safe it for you ...

I see you numbered the wires but I would advice to replace all wires with new ones. 40/50 years of corrosion probably didn't keep those cables in good condition.....
i will replace them for sure, just kept and labeled the old one as a reference for the length i need. in fact, the shop offered me to buy the original wires / cables as well, but since they don't need that stuff anymore (they are using new silicon wiring), i would have had to take a roll of 100 meters for 300 euros - a little bit too much because most of the wiring is invisible in the end. so i passed!
I would help for sure. I am only 50 minutes away. :)
eh, help? where? what? 50 minutes?
:o :o :o
That was really rusty :D
Nice to see, that another piece of art from the past will be saved. :spaceace:
hopefully i'll be able to save as much as i can. i have two different options at the moment, not sure which route to take yet. it depends on what the expert who's coming over tonight is telling me ...

episode 1.24
time for another tech test: after the phenomenal robot vacuum cleaner here’s my latest china gadget, a xiaomi mi drone with a 4k camera. i had wanted a quadrocopter for a long time and was just waiting for the right moment. this moment had arrived when the new xiaomi drone was offered in the flash sale. GOT IT!!!
in this video we’ll be unboxing the drone together, get it up and running and take the first test flights. Welcome aboard!!!
note: although the drone’s camera films in 4k, this video is only full hd, because the camcorder i use doesn’t support filming in higher resolution!
come fly away - right here!!! (https://youtu.be/aH0JcxEwD18)

Nice video! :)

Nice :)

episode 1.25
work in the elektro arkade continues! after demolishing the walls it's time for the pipes running in the middle of the room to be removed. for that i'm getting professional help in the form of mario and luigi aka the plumbers.
but as expected things aren't progressing as smoothly as possible and at the end of the day (or better: the DAYS) i'm being served a "steep surprise" ...
DAMN PIPES!!! (https://youtu.be/13HtMbw04ZQ)
-
That was an unpleasant surprise indeed! >:(
I experienced the same with my gameroom. The guy who installed the electricity wanted 1600 euro for 4 hours work. :'( I had even purchased all the needed parts/supplies beforehand. I managed to get the price down to 900, but I still feel like I was cheated.
Great videos Ully, keep them coming! :spaceace:

stuff like that REALLY SUCKS!!!
i've been struggling with the plumber guy for a few weeks now regarding the final price, because i wasn't informed of the higher costs beforehand PLUS they did work that could have been avoided with a little bit of thinking. he has already agreed to lower the price SOMEWHAT, but i'm still not happy with it and i'm contemplating whether i should pay AT ALL ...
Great videos Ully, keep them coming! :spaceace:
thx a lot for the nice words, still have so much stuff to show you guys, but the editing takes up a lot of time!
-
My neighbour does the electricity for me here. Every saturday about 2-3 hours, step by step. I dont know a price yet but he was always super cheap since my father helped him a lot when he built his home.
Lets see if I dont have the same problem like you guys ;D
-
Damn! that was a bit steep :-[
Can you scan the bill, and show it here? - of course with the company logo scrambled, I would like to see what they did, and also compare the labor price with Danish prices..

episode 1.26
The story of the Elektro sign continues! First of all we expand our collection of illuminated letters with some nice examples from the 1970s, take a closer look at them, remove the dirt collected by being out in the open for 40 years and finally come to a decision which will change EVERYTHING I had planned so far – at least when it comes to the plan of attack for the neon sign!
learn about the decision i have made right here!!! (https://youtu.be/5t7zjTphv1o)
-
Really great... but arghhhh... no other choice for me to fast forward them as I don't understand a single word :'(
-
Very nice video again! :)
-
Really love the neon sign videos. Lot of effort/money going in :D
Yeah I remember that Neon licht sign very very well Ully.....indeed a big shame it wasn't possible to save it.....I would have kept it for sure (like I have kept all my neon lighting and signs).
Speaking about neon. It's a good thing the neon-police is on holiday right now....... ;D ;D ;D
(Those things in the Buchstaben are fluorescent tubes. Not neon.)
....and following that...yes they will emit white light, as you say the color is produced by the platic cover.
-
Yeah, extreme amount of effort/time/money going in, but finally saved. :spaceace:
-
very cool but indeed a lot of time and effort
but again when finished very cool
-
BarKade. Love it! :)
-
thx guys, i hope for sure that the effort, the time AND THE MONEY i've put into this will be worthwhile in the end. btw, i will be picking up the re-freshed tubes of the elektro sign next week 8)
-
BarKade. Love it! :)
Seeing this picture.......maybe replace the covers of the "KADE" portion of Barkade with matching green covers ?
-
I like it how it is. Like you focus that BAR out of the whole word. = you know you get drunk there ;D
-
I like it how it is. Like you focus that BAR out of the whole word. = you know you get drunk there ;D
Mmmm, yeah yeah I see your point.....in that case.....replace the blue covers by red.....that's more spicy than the green/blue combination which is two very safe colors :D

thx guys, as i've said in the video: not 100pro convinced of the combination yet. i like the fact that it stands out, BUT as andre said: the color combination ... hmmmm!

episode 1.27
today something different – but still arcade-related. i was in the mood to “construct” again and therefore ordered something dirt-cheap from china (wherelse?). of course i didn’t do that without a reason and for those of you who don’t wanna watch me build crazy stuff (i dare you), you can skip to the end where the results and my motivation behind it will be revealed – from minute 31.38 onwards. However, if you decide to do so you’re going to miss out on some great music …
this is me putting the pieces together!!! (https://youtu.be/xgXwgKOoLT0)
-
I had also thought about buying these, so I appreciated the video. The end result is very nice, I was afraid that you would put them all on top of an arcade cabinet.
Did I misunderstand, or did you record this in December? :D
-

sure not, it's important to find nice spots for stuff like that, not "sink" it in the arcade!
Did I misunderstand, or did you record this in December? :D
yeah, you got it. filmed the building process way back, but only finished re-decorating the entrance hall now, so there's a time gap of more than half a year between the beginning and the end of the video. :P

episode 1.28
After the removal of the walls and the pipes we now have a huge space at our disposal. And although the flooring is one of the last things we are going to do it can’t hurt to make your choice now – and that’s exactly what we are doing in this episode.
I’m curious to hear your thoughts about my choice …
find out what i've picked right here!!! (https://youtu.be/gKroVRbC-L4)
-
episode 1.29
After making the choice for the flooring it’s time to turn our attention to the ceiling, meaning apart from the obvious drywall what else are we going to put UP THERE, what about lights / illumination?
Without giving too much away I can already tell you it’s going to become EXTREMELY retro and I’m pretty sure that – while watching this episode - some of you guys will ask yourself “WHAT THE HECK …?”
curious about what's going on with the ceiling? (https://youtu.be/hmgOfC0gRiw)
-
Wow, tell me you're going for this 70s style/ambiance! Wow, just woow... if so that's gonna be the coolest game room ever! :spaceace: :spaceace: :spaceace: :-*
-
Cool ceiling! - though, it's plastic, so I see a fire hazard, if you're going to use 1000W lightbulbs :o
But I'm sure you all ready know the light from the ceiling is ,going to be somewhat ambient... I can only speak for my self, but in The Shed, there's onlu the light from the bar and the monitors/marquees :)
-
This will be über cool. :spaceace: ;D
-
Love those ceiling parts....very retro :)
Are they indeed plastic ? I noticed you had a broken piece. Please try to set that one on fire somewhere outside and see what happens (will make a cool episode).
If you hold a flame to it it could smoke, but once you remove the flame it should extinguish by itself. Then it's safe (enough) ;) If the thing ablazes......I wouldn't use them. Maybe you can use some stuff to make them fire-safe...
Seriously....IF there will ever be a fire you don't want plastic to burn and melt and rain down on you..let alone the poisonous fumes they produce......and in the 70's rules weren't so tight about this....oh and talking about 70's....there might be asbestos in these elements to _make_ them fire-safe.....
Sorry fire safety is my profession ;D
-

thx for your input regarding fire safety. of course i HADN'T thought about that :P. i'm going to do exactly as you said and make a short video about it. when you say "hold a flame to it", are you talking about a lighter or something much bigger like a burning piece of wood or a FLAME THROWER 8)?
-
A lighter should be sufficient but since we all love some awesome video on youtube....go...
;D ;D ;D ;D
-
You might want to take it to a Ramstein concert to see if it burns or not :D
But André's right here....imagine all the tiles on the ceiling are blazing within a few moments....could burn down your house :o
-
I second the Flame Thrower
But if you do it in your garden, then watch out for the trees! ;D
-
Nice video again, Ully. Never heard of Yeelight or Huelight, but ist looks great. Change colors on the fly, amazing.
-
You might want to take it to a Ramstein concert to see if it burns or not :D
..could burn down your house :o
That's not so important. it's just a building which should be insured.
Raining burning plastic on people is much more important......poisonous smoke is also much more important.... in fires, 85% of people who die are choked to death not burnt by the flames (although of course that sometimes/often happens later)......
-
episode 1.30
Superully said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. Superully saw that the light was good, therefore he turned his attention to the creation of music …
listen to your heart the sound of music!!! (https://youtu.be/NRWe4Trv4bQ)
-
Nice choice for the audio. This will give a nice "spread out" sound, which is often a problem in (game)rooms where there is too much volume near the speakers and too little when far away from them...
100V systems are also used for really big buildings (larger than 10000m2) as an evacuation system.
LOL about the chimes, you_MUST_ connect a microphone so you can announce it when dinner is ready ;D ;D ;D
Too bad you didn't demo any music though !?!?
The Visaton speaker (in this version) would sound really really poor because there is no box around it.
Apart from that, they look to be from the same manufacturer ?
I have upgraded the standard speaker in my Atari Lynx I to a Visaton speaker and it sounds GREAT :)
-
episode 1.31
Lights: CHECK!
Sound: CHECK!
Wooden slats: NOPE!!!
Therefore we have to screw those wooden slats to the ceiling. After a lot of sawing, screwing and adjusting we are finally ready for the next step – only to realize that one of our previous ideas isn’t going to work out after all. Back to the drawing board …
up with those wooden slats!!! (https://youtu.be/y6nDRT_L_rI)
-
Haha, the first sponsoring in the show ? ;D ;D
-
episode 32
after being absent for three weeks without any updates it's time for an explanation - in the form of a video of course. in it, i'm going to tell you why things in the arkade aren't running as smothly as they should, what the future plans are and which other project i have launched in the meantime ...
watch my explanation by clicking here!!! (https://youtu.be/pOG__U95i3Q)
thanks a lot for your support, Superully's Elektro Arkade is DEFINITELY going to continue. but in case you're feeling bored waiting for more arcade stuff, you will learn about a pretty good substitution in the video 8)
-
I was wondering why you didn't post a new video for some time. But it's nice to know that you're just waiting for work to be done.
BTW, I like your new channel! :)

+1, subscribed to your new channel, the first video is awesome. ;)
-
episode 33
Superully’s Elektro Arkade is finally back – with something new: the Arkade (Hi)Stories!
In this video (https://youtu.be/Vr2VodrionQ) you’re going to find out what the buzz is all about. Attentive forum readers and veterans will already know the story, but it was important for me to retell it in the form of videos, pictures, and lyrics because upcoming episodes will build on that ...
I know that I've been really absent and negligent in the last few weeks, but I've started to feel a little bit more passionate about the hobby again, so hopefully I will be releasing more videos in shorter intervals from now on. But don't hold me to this ... :P
-
Beautiful Computer Space you have there. ;)
Nice to see your vids back. :D
-
Nice vid, beautiful cab. Keep them coming!
-
Ully, I have seen all episodes and you are doing an awesome job, love your vids, but pleeease put a microphone on this year's xmas wishlist :)
You know one of those pin-em-to-your-shirt things that always picks up the sound no matter where you are in the room.
This would boost your production quality so hard!
-

thx a lot, happy that you are enjoying my vids. trust me, i'm not happy with the sound quality myself and mics are definitely on my list - both for the camera AND for the commentaries! it's always good to get feedback like that, because i know i'm not perfect (and never will be), but i'm trying to improve and listen to what other's are saying. so keep those comments coming ...
-
Don't worry, this will just up your game from A to A+++ :)
Can't wait to see how that game room will finally turn out!

episode 34
This is part 1 of 3 of my Computer Space repair road trip.
In this episode we first look at the problem which – in my eyes - makes a repair (or at least a try) necessary. Subsequently, we embark on the journey to Germany's TV and monitor pope par excellence, to hopefully get this problem under control.
Because this is a pretty long road trip, one of my best friends is accompanying me on this trip, who I have not seen for far too long. That's why we talk a lot of garbage in the car, which will not be really exciting for some of you, but since I also produce these videos for myself, I have decided not to cut the material to a larger extent ...
Oh, I almost forgot: watch out for speed cameras!

I just watched it. And you know what? Im Kino! I mean that I watched it in Cinema mode on my Playstation VR (that I recently bought during Black Friday). :D :D Awesome, a screen as big as in a cinema and you both really looked like star actors.
It will be nice to watch episode 2 and 3, see Winnie in action (great guy). Hopefully he can solve the slow-startup problem of the game. BTW, didn't you make previous reports in English? Not that it's a problem for me.

:-*
thx a lot, you're making me blush a bit. did you try to touch charlotte? ;D
BTW, didn't you make previous reports in English? Not that it's a problem for me.
the only report with a little bit of english was the one at thorsten's and dirk's party - because there were some non-german guys there. i know i would probably have a wider audience if i did my show in english or at least with subtitles, but that would be much more work and i'm not doing this for fame or for clicks / likes, i'm doing it for a huge part for myself. i will be old eventually and it might be cool to see what crazy stuff you did 30 years ago - at least that's what i think ;)
-
Episode 35
Here’s part 2 of 3 of my Computer Space repair road trip.
After a long journey, we have finally arrived safely at Winnie’s, who will take INTENSIVE care of our Computer Space - we are curious to find out if he will succeed. But no matter what: Winnie's wisdom and his technical magic are already worth the trip …
Overall, we spent about 4 hours at Winnie’s place, I tried to cut down this material to a tolerable length for you. However, be prepared for a whole lot of techno babble à la Winnie - of which I only understood a fraction, but was nevertheless fascinated to the utmost!
Winnie's Magic REVEALED!!! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8ifllMSruQ)
-
Episode 36
This is the last part of my Computer Space repair road trip
Immediately after our successful visit at Winnie’s, we draw a conclusion of the day, dine in a well-known fast food restaurant and bring the arcade machine safely back home.
But we still have a bullet in the revolver, an ace up our sleeve called 17JZ8 - a replacement tube that we did not have at Winnie's disposal. Will it solve the problem of the wobbly screen?
Follow me to the End of the Road (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhdrngTvVes)
-
Well done, those electrone tubes looks great. ;D
So good, that you have a nice company for your roadtrips. :D
-
.....
thx a lot, you're making me blush a bit. did you try to touch charlotte? ;D
Uhm, no, wouldn't dare. :o LOL
And as you know, German is no problem for me. Keep up the good work.

Episode 39 is out.... I feel we are back on track for Eurocade 2018
-
Ah the rebuilding continues. I feared Ully is missing in action ( at one of his urban area visits )
-
Well, I’m sure he’s crying his eyes out right now......... ;D ;D ;D
-
Well, I’m sure he’s crying his eyes out right now......... ;D ;D ;D
Yeah at least WE saved the planet by not travelling to Russia for nothing :D
-
Hey guys, I've been crawling through a lot of abandoned buildings for two and a half years now and have built up a pretty successful YouTube channel (unlike my arcade channel). BUT over the last few months the arcade fever has started again - and having a construction site in your house is just terrible. So I got back in touch with my electrician (who has returned from his job abroad), we made new plans and I HOPE that work will soon start again in the basement.
The plans for the Elektro Arkade have changed a little - I think for the better. Sometimes it is good to have a little distance and start afresh. In my heyday I had between 70 and 80 machines - mostly stored in a barn, today I'm at around 20 and that's still more than enough. A large part of it will also make it into the party cellar, together with a billiard table, a soocer table, a dart machine and of course the air hockey.
The neon sign story continues, there will be a new video on my arcade channel next Sunday, which I would also like to revive a little. There is not that much new content yet, but I very much hope that there will be a lot more soon - depending on how work in the arcade continues.
When tidying up and clearing out, I came across some things (first of all artwork) that I no longer need (because I no longer have the machines), I will offer these things up for sale here in the coming days - one or the other other arcade machine will also be added.
I was never really gone, BUT NOW I'M REALLY BACK !!!
-
That's great Ully, can't wait for yor status reports about the Elektro Arcade building process.
-
That's great Ully, can't wait for yor status reports about the Elektro Arcade building process.

I hear you Ully! Not only it's a pity that you are dependent on other people, external factors on top of that didn't help either. But, keep the faith!!!
