obviously i don't have enough restoration projects at the moment

so i decided to bring another game from the
FIVE IN A ROW BERLIN ROADTRIP up into my apartment:
DEFENDER
some scratches on the marquee - novus should do the trick. all i can say about those "sat 1 logo" stickers (a german tv channel) is going once, going twice, gone for good!

the front art is in nice condition

only some minor touching up to do where a security bar in front of the coin door had been installed

the whole coin door could use some cleaning - especially the coin insert. patrik is a huge fan of that "clever fox" in the middle and
BEGGED me to keep and even restore it. my dear friend, of course it has to go, but i'll think of something special to do with the fox just for you!

the condition of the sideart isn't that bad either ...

... which means this time i won't be repainting the entire cabinet, just do some colour touch-ups. obviously someone else has tried this before

as always, the edges of the cabinet are worn, but the worst part is
this . it doesn't look too bad on the picture, but in reality it's a huge chunk of wood which has broken off

finally, the control panel! apart from the fact that the coloured buttons for 1-/2-player and thrust/fire have to be exchanged, there's one more thing that i've already seen before on a friend's defender machine: the control panel overlay has been cropped on both sides for some centimeters and the black laminate which can be found to the left and right of the overlay has been expanded. WHY

here's a shot of how the panel is supposed to look like ...

this is something which doesn't stand out right away and if you don't look closely you won't even realize, but have a look at a closeup-photo. see what i'm talking about?

overall, i would say the cabinet is in
average condition, there are no parts which don't need cosmetic surgery - as always
to be continued ...
