Crime City Asteroids
« on: February 18, 2011, 06:03:06 PM »
I'm selling this cab I bought a loooong looooong time ago.
I bought it tested it and put it in my friend KID's storage (thanks again for that by the way).

It's an Asteroids cab (with still OK sidearts) that has been converted into a Crime City probably during a full moon night.

It's in working order, the game is fully playable (inserting a 20BF coin will even provide you a credit, can you believe that?)...
...BUT:
-no sound (maybe it's just a disconnected wire, maybe it's a faulty PCB, don't know and don't have easy access to the cab atm).
-that red wire you see on the picture of the monitor has to be 'reisolated', I will provide the plastic thing to repair it (it's basically a 15minutes job).
-no backdoor

Please somebody, bring it back to it's shiny Asteroids day... or maybe MAME it, but with style then.

Make me a nice offer and it's yours (please keep in mind that I was young when I bought it and I paid waaaay too much for it  ;)).
I'm located in Nivelles, Belgium.
Questions are welcome but remember I'm an electro dummy... so I might just pretend to know the answer to your question and just cut and paste random sentences from wikipedia only to look clever.

OK time to raise the curtain, this guy has gone through a lot but I'm sure somebody can provide him some TLC.
And Crime City is always nice to play if you've had a bad day at work or in the public transports... you can even kick the guys that fell on the ground, how cool is that?

Nice:

Aouch:

Mmmmh nice:

Not much on TV today:

This reminds me when we had Belgian Francs (and a government):

Hey, do you mind? I'm all nake back there:

Oh, my Guts:

Thanks for looking!

@ kroustibat: thanks, compadre!
@ level42: an asteroids? where?

I bought this cab from a Belgian pub that also had a "Gauntlet cab converted in a Samuraï Shodown" for sale.
Back in the days that pub must have been really cool with its real Asteroids and its real Gauntlet, ...until that butcher entered with his tools...
Anyway I bought it because I really wanted to save the asteroids sidearts, they are original and I think it's a genuine piece of art.
It's not a cab you see often for sale in Belgium and it had suffered enough already.

Wew....it is that I really like my Asterock....and that it is 100% complete and in almost mint condition....
Else I would already have bought it from you.

I already have a working Asteroids PCB, however that will end up in the Asterock very very likely.

I already heard some of Asterocks sounds and I really don't like 'm....

Yes the seller was very hard to get in touch with.
Another member from this forum bought the gauntlet for restoration (we went together to get the cabs).

... and thanks all for your comments, hope it will find a nice home!

Reserved.

All the required arcade collector addicts requirements are there:
- do I really need it ? No (already have a lovely Asterock which I prefer because of several well known reasons)
- do I have the space for it ? MMMmmmm, I do once I sell my Mame cab !!
- do I have the money...welll.....for the cab yes ....
- do I have the time for yet another challenging project ? Of course not....

SO, reason enought to take this from Chris's overcrowded game room and storage ;)

I have a wicked plan for this cabinet, but it will definitly be a long running project !!
