After the second coat of black it's time to start the resto of original control panel:

rust (normal after 28 years  :o):

I decided to cover the CP with resistant adhesive paper:

I like the result, and all the CP imperfections are hidden  :P ;D:

....... and the original joystick restoration:

rust, rust and rust:

final result:

and now a doubt  ???, original buttons or Mikesarcade repro DK buttons? There is a slight difference, see:

for now I use the repro, joystick and buttons in positions:

and finally T-molding:

If you're not going to use the original buttons anymore.......I'm interested :) !

My MB had one original complete orange button, but the other was not complete. So I ordered and used Mike's too but I would prefer to have the originals.

I do still have the original blue one's for game start.

How did you do the red painting ? Rolling ? Could you make a close-up picture of it ?

O and where did you find that vinyl stuff you put under the CPO ?

Yes all painting work with foam roller ...  (sorry no great pic quality  :-\, my digital camera sucks )

Vynil stuff come from a shop in Italy called 'CASTORAMA' (similar to Leroy Merlin, Brico etc ....)

the brand (D-C-FIX):

Looking really fantastic ! , almost finished!

  That is seriously great painting you've done !  :spaceace:

Thanks for those shots of the vinyl, maybe I can find some here now with that name...

I read a tip about the coin mech frontplates. Someone told me to simply sand them and then put them outside with rainy weather etc. The natural corrosion of the aluminium would give it it's original look again.....adter a day or 10....

Not a bad idea, but I haven't tried it myself yet.

Sorry to keep bugging you about it, but does that D-C-Fix stuff have a certain color or part number ?

I found some on-line stores that sell D-C-Fix here but can't seem to find the right color/design.

Thanks !
