Finally after many years, the zacc is comming home !
« on: October 28, 2020, 08:13:08 PM »
Hey guys,
Long time that i have posted here, but i want to take you guys with me on a journey that is waiting for a long time...

As you might know, my Zacc's where always at my mom's attic because of lack of space (and a complaining wife that did not want such a woodenbox in the house)

Well, as you also might know, that last barrier is not in my life anymore, so its time to bring the zacc that is left home.

The other dedicated Crazy kong was sold to CKONG, and he still has it as far as i know, leaves me with the 2e zacc which was parted out completely

Time to get this baby to my house as a winter project.

Moved the zacc from the attic downstairs, that was the hardest part, 2 narrow turning staircases, but its down  :D

After transporting it in the car, its waiting to enter the house

This will be a nice spot to place the zacc

Installed the bezel, which has a little flaking unfortunately, but it has the same style as the side art.

Years ago i obtained a bootleg crazy kong marquee from SuperUlly, it will do for now.
If anyone has a Vanguard Marquee, i am interested, because that has the same artstyle as the cabinet and bezel
Same for the CPO, but i think i will have one made by Barry.

I have a bunch of parts still here, and in the pile i have 2 MTC900 monitors.
Lets see if at least one of them works

I have a Crazy kong Board set here, in fact, i have part 1 from Muerto many years ago, and i have a Part 2
The idea was to install both and use a switcher between them, but as i only have space for one cabinet, and i also like to play other games, i did order a 60 in 1, just to have some other games.
A pc with a mame setup could also be a solution for multigames, but to be honest, i am a bit tired of configuring the stuff and i want to use a real MTC 900, and thats also complicated with a pc setup.

Later more on this  ::)

Hopefully you can find a better marque than that Crazy Kong one in the picture ;)

great, to see you back in arcade stuff.

If you need spare parts, I can send you nearly everything.

To my mind there is no Vanguard marquee available for this cabinet type.
Searching Zaccaria Stuff: Fiiter Marquee, Zaxxon CPO, JumpBug CPO or CPO Repro
next project: assemble Zaccaria Cocktail.

That vector of the marquee i am very interested in, The CPO i also have in this format, but there are 2 different styles

Small and Big :

See the difference..  i have the wooden underpanel with the holes matching the small variant.

Looks like i have some vector work to do...

I think Digimon is right, the only Zaccaria Canguard marquee is bevelled and it won't fit on this...could be wrong though.

A far better solution to get lots of games into a cabinet is by using a Pi3+ with Pi2Jamma. More expensive than the 60in1 but waaay better emulation than the 60in1.

Have fun with the resto! :)

Thanks, well i have thought about it, but what i only play as a casual gamer are donkey kong, pac games and galaga and a few others, and they play pretty well on the 60 in 1.

I thought about a mame setup, but i am too lazy to figure it all out and configure etc. and then the hussle of connecting the arcade monitor...

Anyway, i messed around with the two MTC-900's i have here but could not get any of the two correct, so i guess they need work.

after some fiddling with the pots:

So i have made a big sin...  i threw in a 19" 4:3 LCD....

The control panel was butcherd together with a bunch of crap buttons, but the mission was to play a game last weekend..

And you can see that my little helper, is not so little anymore after a few years...   ;D

Anyway, it plays, and now work on the other stuff.

PS. Digimon, pm me please, i need a powerboard with the cable to the edge connector. the one from the transformer assembly i have here.

The "regfrigurator fan" is also missing, so i need one of that too with the cage.

the coinboard i found, but its missing one connector, i need to figure out which one i have, the bottom or the top..

Thanks in advange

Marquee and CPO i will make, i have the plexi already, i just need to create the graphics to match the spacestation theme.

YES, I know exactly what you mean.....that's the best reason for a Pi2Jamma....no config hassle and it gives you superb 15kHz support right out of the box!  :spaceace:
Donkey Kong is not good emulated on the 60in1, afair there are some sound issues.

LCD-Screen??? naah.....

 ;)

I have to check that, but good to know you have some ;)
