let's start with the real paint job! for that, i've set up a temporary spraying booth in my bathroom! it'll be a mess eventually, but much easier to clean than someplace else!

after base-painting the necessary pieces in blue, it's time for a small stencil job

came out fine - i really like the color combo :-*

up next: the two large side pieces! :-\
all i need is ... PONG - and a select few others: TOUCH ME, DRAGON'S LAIR, JOUST, ROBOTRON, MR DO, SAN FRANCISCO RUSH THE ROCK!!!

the doorbell has just rung and i've been delivered a huuuge package

some strange symbols on the label and the word JAPAN, let's examine that a little bit closer

hehe, i like the "i checked that contents above are not dangerous good" section! but i've got no time to waste, i wanna see what's inside

first up, a taito BUBBLE SYMPHONY cartridge on top of an F3 motherboard

the game is also known as Bubble Bobble II and - you might have guessed it - the sequel to Bubble Bobble :)

up next in the box is BUBBLE MEMORIES ...

... aka The Story of Bubble Bobble III - the sequel to Bubble Memories

and because the games were pretty cheap, i decided to get another one

Elevator Action Returns is the sequel to the Taito classic Elevator Action and for those games I HAVE A CUNNING PLAN 8)

thx a lot to bela for pointing out that great dude in japan who's selling some really cool stuff. communication was extremely friendly, shipping fast and cheap and the best of all: NO CUSTOMS! i wonder why packages like that from the east are slipping through the network while every single package from the west goes through customs. man, i wished getting parts from the usa would be as easy as well!!!

all i need is ... PONG - and a select few others: TOUCH ME, DRAGON'S LAIR, JOUST, ROBOTRON, MR DO, SAN FRANCISCO RUSH THE ROCK!!!

Looks nice, the color matches perfect. ;)
Never played BB on an original pcb or cab, you made me curious. :D
Your theory about customs is 100% true, never paid a cent for "eastern" packages.
(For most of you I am the eastern). ;D

Have you seen this? IMO theres way to much going on, on that cab.
Though I made my BB out of a Moon Patrol cab (home made) TAITO _IS_ the way to go!

yeah, already spotted that, but let's post a picture here:

i agree with you michael, the artwork is too busy for me, my eyes can't relax when looking at that thing if you know what i mean. it does look great somehow, just not the way i would have done it.

kinda reminds me of this one

also a great unique design, but once again too busy for my taste!

That guy was influenced by my cab but decided to go for full side art and front art, I also find it's a bit too much for my taste.
