It is !!!! It's back to the "old school" Eurocade though so don't expect a Retro Game Experience kind of event (or budget)
For US standards there will be a relatively small amount of cabs and the venue is small too. The good thing is that it's only collectors amongst eachother and an awesome bar and atmosphere
I discussed this (again) with the "people in charge of the club" and regretfully there is no other option than moving the date:
Saturday 12 September 2015 will be Eurocade 5 !!!Because there are new regulations from the city, the club is only allowed to rent out the building 6 times per year now, and Eurocade will be one of those events.
Following that they can only rent out 6 times per year, they want more money for the rent, and to be honest, we didn't pay that much money already. we should be able to keep things within budget though.
However, another rule that has changed is that we cannot bring our own drinks. We will have to buy the drinks from the bar. Prices are quite moderate though (coke,sprite etc. €1 beer (Heineken, Jupiler, Warsteiner) €1,20, whine €1,50 for example.
We will try to include the meal though. We stick to the tradion of eating "all together" at 18.00 hrs...but we will look into seriously upgrading the quality of the food. The restaurant where we got it from is gone anyway......
Will have to do some calculations but I don't expect the entry price to be higher, in fact goal is to get it lower because of the extra cost for drinks.
The third thing is not new really, but seeing the increase of collectors and because we were a public event during the last two years at RGE, I am expecting more people to be interested at coming.
The building is not that big though and regulations say we can only have a limited number of people in the building. I don't expect any problems but if needed we might have to set a limit on the number of visitors.
If so, those who attended previous Eurocades and/or brought a cab will have some priority.
But again, I don't foresee a real problem with that, but in case it really gets crazy we might have to stick to that limit.
So........get your name on the list !!! Send me a PM, e-mail or simply (and best) post here if you are coming and what cab you will bring.
As mentioned, more than ever we are going to have to rely on people bringing at least one cab with them to make this edition another success....
