I bought a Space Ace Disc but it's got laser rot. :( Is it garbage?

I bought a really nice looking Space Ace disc off of ebay. I paid about $100 shipped for it from the UK.

When playing the disc in the player not plugged in the game, the disc stops at the same scene every time then resumes and there is a lot of snow on the screen.

I cleaned it with Novus and it didn't help.

Is there any hope for this disc or is it just garbage? Really bummed.

and that, together with the 3+ laserdisc players you bought over the last months, is exactly the reason many people Daphne-d the machines...

now, i don't know much about laserdiscs, i am not a laserguy, but i think that could be indeed one of the symptoms you have with laser rot

and as far as i know there is no fix for that.

Maybe it's a PAL/NTSC thing ? No idea really, I'm not a laser-guy....

It was so funny because when I saw it I thought about you right away and of course I played it a couple of times. I actually hadn't played it on iOS before
Managed to get some good number of ticket out of it, but we all know how "valuable" these are

I thought it was fun too ! It has all the elements a good arcade game needs: simple to play, hard to master and yet when you fail you feel it's your fault and want to give it "one more try"....

About the LD: did you get it through eBay ? if it was mentioned as fully working I think you should file a claim...

Here's the thing... I didn't personally buy this. Some guy in the UK bought it for me and shipped it to me as the seller wouldn't ship to the USA. I paid for it of course.

That's cool. I don't want you to get in trouble and I fully understood the risk! It's a little surprising that if he runs that arcade site he didn't at least test the disc. But again, I totally knew that I was taking a risk ordering it as it didn't say it was tested.
