You can't go wrong with Daphne. This emulator has been created by the strongest Dragon's Lair fans on earth! Every single details have been taken in consideration by the coders. For them, it's wasn't just 'an other rom or something to emulate'...no it was 'we know well how the original hardware work, so let's do the think right". I'm using it in my Space Ace cabinet and I couldn't be more happy. Of course, nothing can't beat the original hardware, but in this case, repairing a LD player could be a true nightmare!

LOL, yes But what's important here is for example the moves timing, which was wrong in most the commercial releases of the game. Daphne is 100% arcade accurate. Same for the score schema. You can also use Daphne with a true LD player, and even with a real external score board (for the US Cinematronics version of the cabinet) So Daphne has all the features to efficiently replace the real board and even the LD player...what else?

i am not an expert at all, but i hear the lasedisc gives alot of troubles. the disks can rot, and the players die. i think Daphne is a good alternative, if configured correct, you will not know the difference i think plus its easy to install, if you have a iso of the dvd version, Daphne detects that as a valid source and it will download the correct content then. i am sure there is a way to get one of those dvd's

I agree with all of you, but...
I think I've tested almost every available version of DL (getting better image each time, last one was Blu-Ray,HD enhanced, aso) including Daphne with downloaded Mpegs or DVD-converted files but never, never did I feel the same as the original LD.
Laserdisc has a picture quality that I never was able to find in any conversion I've played. May be that's because I Played the LD version on a TV and the other versions on PC Monitors.
But I remember the first time I was able to play DL using Daphne, and a real LD player. I tought : "That's the real DL I was playing in the arcade" and that i've been looking for all these years each time a new version was out.
So is LD Image great or is it just an output hardware display difference that i noticed ?
