It is a really great find - I've only ever seen a single stripped/converted cab in the last 10 years or so. Always thought none had survived so it's great news that one has turned up.

Yes, it should have the Hanterex B&W vector monitor, and yes the DAC's are on the PCB so it works with a standard vector monitor. It's also likely it's a straight board swap for Space Fortress (a.k.a. Star Castle).

Again, congrats on a great find!

Paul.

got a call this morning from bela asking me if a pickup by a shipping company later today would be possible. well, nothing is IMpossible, so i rushed over to the storage and wrapped up the cab as good as i could with the materials i had at hand. it was freezing cold and i had noone to assist me, but i'm pretty happy with the results - pics to follow later when the cab is being picked up!

but i still had another task to do: a couple of weeks ago i also picked up various glass bezels for bela from another seller - and those needed to be wrapped up as well. so i drove to a home depot and grabbed a couple of bubble wrap rolls

and here are the bezels waiting to be "bubbled up"

i also picked up a GIANT pinball backglass (or whatever those are called)

it has a piece missing in the upper left corner, the seller told me that you, bela, know about that. can you confirm?

maximum protection for the pinball glass!

here's what my room looks like after a rushed wrapping job :'(

anyway, just when i was finished with packing everything up, i got a call from the shipping company telling me that they would be delayed for approximately 3 hours - damn! >:(

ok bela, let's check the inventory and let me know if i've missed something:

- space pirate cabinet
- keys for the space pirate
- space pirate instruction manual
- 5 videogame monitor bezels
- 1 pinball backglass
- 2 videogame flyers (eyes & tron)

is that it?

i'll post more pictures later when the cab has been picked up!!!

The *only* way to ship glass bezels is in a wood case or cabinet - someone had a Q*Bert bezel they won off Ebay shipped to me once and the seller just wrapped it in bubble wrap and cardboard. What arrived was a nice box of glass pellets :)

They should be fine inside a cab as long as the shipper doesn't drop the cab (it happens...).

Paul.

The list of the items is complete and perfect and yes, Thorsten informed me about that crack in the pinball glass, that part couldn't be seen if it's installed, the upper metal rail of the pinball covers it.
Sorry for the delay and thanks for that great packing job.

got a call from the company at a quarter to eight telling me that the driver is already waiting at the storage. i jumped into my car, rushed over (again) and here's what i saw

i took a quick photo of my early-morning-wrapping-job (it was so cold, i didn't even realize the cool cardboard i used!) ...

... and one more photo of the cab already loaded up (note to bela: the flyers and the keys are in the box with the bezels, please check if everything is there - especially the keys)

and off to hungary it goes where space pirate will get a lot of love and devotion from a nice hungarian zaccaria collector ;) :-*

this was my side of the space pirate story, i'm glad i could help bela out with this one! let's see if it really arrives at his doorstep tomorrow morning ...

signing off, ully the pickup- and deliveryman

I was thinking about how impossible that would have been some years ago. Iron curtain, it must have been a nightmare to import anything at all.....(or maybe not so much a nightmare if you follow the right "procedures" at the border, nutch-nutch, wink-wink...

Now (at least in theory) you can drive straight through from Western Europe to Hungary.....

The cab arrive around 11 this morning, the driver had to reverse with the car in our high-pitched road

We unloaded the van in no time, I realized that this cab is much lighter then the other Zaccs

Unpacked from the nuclear war safe protection and here it is ;D
