Well, from my experience, the ebay market is clearly NOT the place for buying such specific cabinets, especially in Europe... or you must be very lucky! The best options in order to find these 'high-end' games like CS or PG are the collectors network, newsgroups or via forum messages between collectors. And, at the end... ebay US may be an option, but you must have a local contact over there who'll manage all the things for you (shipping, etc...), or ...you'll have to pay the high price  :-\
And during the negotiation ... be quick or be dead! In an ideal world, I would like to have a lot of pictures of a cabinet I'm looking to buy, with a lot of descriptions, blablabla... but during the time you spend to acquire these data (or trying to acquire I would say), someone else will come and buy the cabinet 'with no question'. Sometime you've to take some risks if you really need some rare games...

I agree with you but the main problem as you stated bruno is that

during the time you spend to acquire these data (or trying to acquire I would say), someone else will come and buy the cabinet 'with no question'.

That's true, and in my opinion as experience (on other games - LD games) this is the main problem dealing with other collectors

I don't know if the price is higher on ebay, though..

it depends on the game and the financial moment on Ebay imho

Now on ebay.com you can grab a Dk in USA for less than $1000 in mint condition

4 years ago it was a dream

And, at the end... ebay US may be an option,

Yes, for many people I think for clearness it would be the best one because people as stated before prefer to choose on its own

the cab

the condition

and the price

instead of a locked choice (example a defender cab - on ebay you find 5 a week at the conditions and prices you want - from one warehouse they have 1 or 2 at higher prices of course)

but you must have a local contact over there who'll manage all the things for you (shipping, etc...), or ...you'll have to pay the high price  :-\

For that I can help but my warning is most on the fact that people are not used with it yet

and this makes me wonder..

Mav, I've got a serious question: Could you please stop putting an extra return in every line you type ? It makes reading your posts much harder. Thanks !

It makes easier for people with no english skill, in no english spoken, countries to be able to translate easily with altavista or babelfish what we say

and understand clearly what we are talking about

and - in case - to be able to join

Great Oliver!!

I knew I can count on friends when in need, in this case talking about real rare pieces

That is a real piece of art  :o

My congrats as always

You are a real collector so I'm going to ask you as qualified collector (having or having had these games)

Which is your opinion of the question done:

I.e. Which is today the quotation of a pong or a computer space in Europe?

Thanks for the collaboration in advance

Mav

Ps= or if not available in Europe, in Usa + all the shipping costs + taxes+ custom duties to make it arrive right here

Thx

On top of your costs for buying a machine in the USA.

Crate the game = around $300
Ship the game airfreight = around $800
Ship the game seafreight = around $500
Taxes = between 10-25% of the value of the machine AND shipping cost.

Expensive.

I was lucky - my friend imported the Pong machine and then I bought it off him at a later date. Because of the condition of the machine I paid a LOT for it.

Serial number XX (or ZZ, can't remember)-007

Secret Agent Pong machine

Hi oliver,

Thanks as always for the informations given

So basically if a "normal" game is about $500~1200

it must be added
300$ for crating
700$ for shipping * actual NAVL shipping quote to Italy is around 1450$

+ 20% Vat (= 400$ (1000$+300+700))

so $2400 for europe

$3100 for Italy

for a normal game..

and no assistance

Because of the condition of the machine I paid a LOT for it.

Around?

For a computer spce which is the cost here in Europe?  and USA?

Thanks

Unfortunately, there's not enough sale to determine a cost for such game, here in Europe (and likely in US too). A lucky man would be able to find one cheap (but the value of 'cheap' is not the same for all of us  :-\)... and an other would have to pay to big price... because he really want it fast  :-\
It's like everything : opportunity, luck, time ... having the information on the right time, having enough money at the right time, ...

So, you won't have a clear & unique  answer I'm afraid...
