Well, the main PCB ( cpu + ram ) looks very bad as you can see on the previous pictures : missing parts, acid damaged, ...  confused

OK, I'll try to repair pcb or finding parts, but while this time, I also want to see that Defender alive, so  arrow

Let's "simulate" the pcb  roll eyes

I want it as close as possible as the true pcb, so I won't use any converter... the vga signal directly in 15khz in the monitor.  So I've done a VGA cable hack ( isolate the blue, red, green, sync vert + hori, and ground ), and I'll test the game with ArcadeOS and an old mame 0.57 in pure dos on a P3 800Mhz ( Thanks Sam for the mobo+proc  Smiley  )

Ok, the image looks very good, but I can center the picture in the center of the screen ( not horiz pot    )

Ok, let's see how to fix that...

The geometry problems on the monitor drive me crazy  Evil

The only issue seems to install new capacitors on it. Let's get a 'CapKit' for that Wells-Gardner K4600  arrow

Let's remove the monitor :

... very easy to remove it on this cab'  Shocked  :

The monitor is ready for the 'operation'  lol  :

Now you can see the full tutorial I've done to install the CapKit here  arrow http://www.dragonslairfans.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=131

CapKit... installed  Cool  :

Let's quickly plug the monitor, and see how it looks after installing new capacitors  roll eyes

Yeah baby... Yeah  arrow the geometry problems are... GONE  Tongue

AArg... I can't wait for playing it  Tongue  Tongue  Tongue

...to bad with a keyboard oppps  oppps  oppps :

...I've now to wire the control panel... easy task regarding the CapKit installation  lol

Stay Tuned...
