I managed to get the RAL and NCS color codes for the laminates that Whitney uses, so it should make it easier to find european alternatives:

Liberty Red: RAL 3020    NCS S1580-Y90R

Carribean Blue RAL 220-70-35   NCS S1050-B10G

Fresh Papaya RAL 2008    NCS S1070-Y60R

I'm not sure how you are supposed to cut it though, it's very tough and I'll want clean edges.

A pair of large sharp scissors or tin snips usually, give yourself plently of extra room around the edge incase it splits of.  Then a router with a good sharp bit on it to trim to the shape.

Got an answer from a Panolam employee saying "Please contact our distributor in the UK, Arnold Lavers, Ltd".
This is their website: https://www.laver.co.uk/

I sent them an E-mail, let's see what they say...

An update about this. I got an answer from the people at the UK company Arnold Laver. They could get the laminate I was asking for, but it was not something they had in stock so they had to order from USA and the shipping cost would be on me. And the shipping cost for 2 laminate sheets would be.... £410!

Needless to say I had to decline  :'(

I will see what the samples are like when they arrive, perhaps I can get a piece for you when I order mine then ship it to you.

I think this is probably what you're looking for. I'm still considering laminating one of my cabs and will be getting samples from here. It comes in one large sheet, and is in 0.8mm thickness.

I think the issue is USA and Europe laminates have slightly different meanings, in the UK Formica is a term you'd use for the thin plastic-type coating, which is how I found this site.
It looks like you'll definitely be able to get the correct orange match too.

That site seems to be great! Looks like they don't ship outside UK though  :(

The sheets were 10x4 in size and cost about £65 each.

Feel free to tell us where/how you bought them  :D

I have painted some cabinets before but I prefer laminate 10 times out of 10.

Laminate is a days work tops and you get a perfectly smooth surface

compairing to

Clean, sand, paint (wait a day for the paint to dry)
Clean, sand, paint (wait a day for the paint to dry)

Clean, sand, paint (wait a day for the paint to dry)
Clean, sand, paint (wait a day for the paint to dry)

And in the end you almost never get a perfect smooth surface, your work room is full of paint and dust and you've tore half of your hair

I can't really offer much of a solution but I called Suzo Happ's UK office and they imported some for me and shipped from the UK! It was about 6/7 years ago I last ordered a load so can't remember all the details.

Maybe a starting point?
You could use di-NOC from 3M. It should be available in all countries

Nog sure if it’s the exact same stuff you’re looking for

This is from the Dutch website https://www.3mnederland.nl/3M/nl_NL/company-base-bnl/all-3m-products/~/3M-DI-NOC-Interieur-Folie-PS-134-Single-Color-1-22-m-x-12-m/?N=5002385+8709314+8711017+8711743+3292289465&rt=rud#

Thanks for the tips guys!

A few times when I've found something interesting, something like this happens:

- Sure we have what you need. What company are you from and how many tons of laminate do you need?
- Ehm... I'm a private individual and I need 2 sheets....

I tried to source that too for my Circus Charlie restoration but didn't find it in my local shops...  :-\
They even don't really understand what I'm talking about  :ghost:
So I'm also very interested in the answers.

Yeah, I'm also running into that problem, they don't even understand what I'm asking for.
- "Laminate? Are you going to redo your floor or what's the deal? We have 7 mm wood pattern laminate, can't imagine why you would want any other kind of laminate than that..."

In the US it seems to be more like "Why sure, we have 137 variations of orange in 52 different finishes. Which one do you need?"

Hi!
I have a Mario Bros cabinet I would like to laminate the sides on. They have found the perfect color match and laminate type here: https://www.skyskipperproject.com/lets-talk-laminate/
But, as always, it's american resellers.

Does anyone know any place in Europe where I can order this kind of laminate?

Thank you :)

Technical Area / Carriage bolts - Where to get?
« on: April 25, 2018, 04:01:35 PM »
Hi
I've had this problem multiple times. The carriage bolts to my (in this case) Mario Bros joysticks need to be changed. The problem is that it's IMPOSSIBLE to find size M4. Size M5 and larger is no problem.

Before I've ordered from Mikes Arcade but there has to be some place in Europe where you can get this?  :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\

Grats, sounds great!  ;D
