Beautiful cabinet that Mousetrap!

Yep, what a bunch of jerks... Basically all my forum pics for the last 10 years are on Photobucket.

A few dollar per month would have been ok, but 400 a year? Insane

RIP Photobucket

That's really cool :)

Started to work on the CP yesterday. This abomination is going to be a Rampage CP once again. All the buttons and joysticks are original.

Started by removing all metal parts and put them in an ultrasonic bath to remove paint and rust.

Then moved on to the metal plate. Some Citristrip does wonders if you want to remove paint

After the paint was gone there are still alot of rust, so some grinding work is next

The metal parts are now as good as new  :)

And my best friendo Chemical metal will help to undo those horrible drilled holes.
A hint to anyone using this, have a piece of teflon where you want to have a plain surface (you can see that I have a piece of teflon under the CP in this photo). Chemical metal has a bad habbit of sticking to basically everything but not teflon though. Easy as pie to remove the teflon after the work is done.

Bought a Rampage this weekend, one of my top "must have"-games  :D

The side art was still there & looked decent enough. The marquee was in great shape.

The same couldn't be said about the rest of the cabinet unfortunately.

It had at some point been converted to a "Moonwalker". The CP was stripped and painted black, as well as 3 Atari cone buttons sloppily drilled on the top.

The bezel glass was in great shape but the art was ruined due to the "Moonwalker" stickers. The harness had also been molested.

Apart from some sprite errors the PCB seems to work fine though. Must find a sound card

Hi!
Having some trouble with my newly purchased Pacman. If you zoom in the attached photo you can see that for example in GAME OVER, the E:s and the O have "tails", one pixel hanging down. It's no "bleed"-effect, the "tails" are perfectly sharp pixels.

I got the same one pixel "tail" on letters of all colors. Tested my Ms Pacman board on the same monitor and that looked perfect so it must be a PCB issue.

Someone's got any idea what it might be?

Thank you

Finally applied my first CPO. It was quite nervous & the result is not perfect but I'm pleased with it nevertheless  :)

The artwork is not the same as the original though. Realized that when I was done  :ghost: Oh well, it doesn't bother me that much

I love Chemical Metal, once you've applied it, it stays forever (use rubber gloves & don't get anything on the floor!) & the fumes keep you high enough to not begin to question what you're doing with your life when you spend time & money working on 40 year old video game crap.

Thank you for the woodgrain tip! What method did you use when applying it on the cabinet?

Absolutely, just take a weekend and join us some time! Arcade work, Arcade play and Beer  :pac:

Not so exciting perhaps but I managed to get ahold of the buttons and the trackball (all original).

Filthy as hell so they needed some cleaning, dismantling everything

A couple of hours in an ultrasonic bath together with some Simple Green makes wonders! For both filth and rust

The ball wasn't going that smoothly afterwards so had to lubricate the ball-bearings a little. Worked like a charm  :spaceace:
The technology in the trackball is quite amazing. Specially for the beginning of the 80s

All screws rust free

All buttons clean and shiny

Kralleman wants to keep the "Space Attac" as it is, I would rather convert it back to one of the original Atari games :)
6 of these bad boys together would look great

The clock generator crystal gives PULSE on one leg and LOW on the other leg, so I guess that works

Do you mean the CPU on the main board or the ROM board? I've found pulse on both of them but not sure exactly where I shall look though  :(
