Hey fellow DLF'rs!

After years of doing my thing in the arcade scene I can finally anounce that we've formed a team to open an arcade club in a few months. An arcade club in the sense that it is an entry fee venue with all the games on freeplay.
We're planning to start with about 100 machines with our main focus on the classics. Classic woodies, mixed with some repro's (which we will fade out in due time), Pinballs, airhockey, some modern machines like Vewlix's, Candies and also some great deluxe cabs like Outrun, Hang On, 18 wheeler, Elevator action death parade etc.

The team consist of me doing the hardware, Steven (who is known as a presentor on Gamekings) doing marketing/PR and Bas (a great chef in Amsterdam) and Margot who will be doing the food/drinks.

Today we've signed the contract for the warehouse that we'll be converting into the arcade in the northern part of Amsterdam (NDSM area). The upcoming months I hope to post some updates of the progress and working towards an opening before this summer.

If you have any questions, comments or game requests, let me know!

Update May 1st:
We just opened the crowdfunding on Indiegogo : https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/blast-galaxy-arcade-club-amsterdam

« on: July 02, 2016, 01:46:41 AM »
A ridge racer cabinet which is actually in a really nice condition.
The sidepanels are in a great condition as is the rest of the cabinet.
The only issue is the condition of the 33 inch monitor, it might need a cap job or other treatment. The colors are blend.

Priced to sell quickly it is offered for 450 euro. Only for pickup near Tilburg in the Netherlands.

'Business' Area : Buy/Sell/Trade / WTB : WEC Le Mans 24 PCB
« on: February 16, 2015, 12:34:09 PM »
I've managed to get my hands on a rotating WEC Le Mans 24 arcade and am missing the game PCB :(
I missed out on a recent sale on Ebay US and am now looking closer to home.

The goal is to fully restore the cabinet and put next to a fully restored Outrun to let them battle again ;)

'Business' Area : Buy/Sell/Trade / Tmolding requested
« on: November 09, 2014, 07:55:28 PM »
For a tight deadlined project I need about 4-6 meters of black 18-19mm Tmolding. Does anyone in NL (preferably 50 km radius of Rotterdam) have any to spare? Will pay of course ;)

PS I ordered at arcadewinkel.nl but just in case that they don't ship out in time I'd rather have ordered double.

'Business' Area : Buy/Sell/Trade / Groupbuy adjustable PCB holder
« on: January 16, 2014, 09:38:22 AM »
On Nozomi.nl we were talking about finding PCB feet and someone came up with these amazing universal PCB holders. Asure currently has one in one of his cabs and he confirmed that they work well. So we set out to find them and found that they are sold by Suzo Happ.
I've contacted SH in Holland to inform me about availability and prices and unfortunately they are not in stock and will have to be special ordered and take about 2 weeks to get to Holland.
So i set forth and started a group buy and currently have 20+ (plus a couple for myself) of PCB holders on order.
The plan is to gather orders until the end of the month and order them so they should arrive here somewhere 2nd/3rd week of February.
The price of the PCB holder is 7,50 euro. (unfortunately more as the USA prices as SH is doing their own markup in Holland)(Grey import is no option)
Shipping costs (including boxing):
NL : 7,50
UK, BE, DE, FR, IT, ESP, SWE : 10 (without tracking), 14 (with tracking)
A box can contain a lot of units and can weigh up to 10kg for NL domestic shipments. Foreign shipping fees like the ones above can go up to 2KG which I estimate is about 4-5 units. Let me know if you want more so i can check the rate and pinpoint the weight.

The product:

- Durable black nylon plastic construction
- Great for use within Universal Kit Cabinets
- Height adjustable from 4-1/2" to 12-1/2" to hold small or large PCB's
- Able to hold multi-level PCBs
- Mounts to wall of cabinet via molded mounting holes

Bracket in action. Courtesy of Asure:

I have been offered this cabinet(s?) and would just like to know if there is any interest in 'm.
It's the very rare 25th Anniversary edition Space invaders/QIX.

I have no specific info about the cabinet and will post more as soon as i get more info.

A few were made. Duh...
25 inch monitor.
Built in 2003.
Currently in Japan
Rank 1 of 100 on rarity, according to arcade museum. (for as much as that is worth anyway)
Probably expensive ;)

'Business' Area : Buy/Sell/Trade / Price check - Sega Space Tactics
« on: February 28, 2013, 09:20:30 PM »
Kind of an obscure cabinet for as far as i know. It's called Space Tactics and it's made by Sega. The cab is supposed to have a mirror reflected screen which can move on 2 axis to create some 3D effect.
Anybody know what kind of price this baby would fetch and if anybody here even has one?

Here 2 pics that i took of the cab while picking through someones storage:

Arcade Lifestyle / Wreck it Ralph cabinets
« on: September 18, 2012, 06:19:25 PM »
A while back i posted about the upcoming Disney movie Wreck it Ralph on the Nozomi forum. Being a fan of the movie before it even comes out i started reading about the movie and the way that Disney is promoting it with arcade cabinets. The first time that the movie was promoted was during the E3 in Las Vegas and they had the Fix it Felix arcade cabinet on display.

Everybody notices that it looks a lot like the Donkey Kong cabinets and after some research it came to light that Disney actually purchased some DK cabs from KLOV members and turned them into those Fix it Felix cabs.
So while I'm dying to own a DK cab i couldn't stand the fact that it was reduced to a mere ingredient of the FiF cabs. And i don't blame Disney because they simply needed donor cabs for the promotion of the movie and they also used other donor cabs eventually. But the whole thing triggered my thoughts of building the cabs for Disney from the ground up. So no donor cabs needed and all DK cabs can sleep peacefully.

The day before Eurocade i wrote Disney an email with my offer to build them these cabinets in the same style as the E3 show and give them the option of having the trailer on an LCD running in a loop or just the plain cabinet like on the E3.
It took a while and after a bunch of emails with a couple of contacts within Disney they asked me to give them a price. Sending out a simple email with a price is easy but i'd rather present the thoughts, ideas and price in person.
So last Thursday morning I got invited to the office of Disney near Amsterdam. Here is a picture that i took:

I drove up to the huge office building and introduced myself at the front desk. The lady told me that i had to use the elevator to go to the 19th floor. So i stepped into elevator with some other Disney employees and after they pressed 3 and 4 I went ahead and pressed 19. People looked at me and one guy actually said "ooooooh 19... your coming for an audience". Apparently it's the top floor for management only ;)
So we spoke about the movie and i pitched the thought of building them the cabinets from scratch and presented the idea to them.

***EDIT*** This part of the story is history for the ones that read it and a guess for the ones who didn't ;) ***EDIT***

Technical Area / Nintendo Tmolding question
« on: September 18, 2012, 01:48:10 PM »
Has anyone used the Nintendo flat T-molding from www.t-molding.com ?
What i would love to know is what thickness blade is nescesarry to cut the slot for the molding. The Tmolding comes from the US and they use 7/64 inch which comes down to about 2,8mm. I went to check local hardware stores and i can get either 2,5mm or 3mm blades to cut the slot...
I presume that 2,5 will do the job?

All the rest / Hello from Jinxz of Shadaloo.eu
« on: August 04, 2012, 11:59:16 AM »
First off, great forum!

My name is Chris Blok aka Jinxz from Holland and i run www.Shadaloo.eu since 2009.

I actually have a tight bond with Dragonslair ;)
My brother and I were fully into the C64 / A500 scene and one day my bro came up with the idea to purchase a Laserdisc player with Dragonslair. At that time, for as far as we knew, the nearest place to buy it was in Mannheim, Germany. So one morning we decided to ask our mum to drive us there and so we did. We got horribly lost in Mannheim and actually came to the store about 5 minutes before closing time. Needless to say we were happy as hell to find that they were open and had both the player and dragonslair in stock.
Back home we hooked it up to the Amiga500 and played for weeks/months with friends and family.

That's my Dragon's Lair history ;)

Nowadays i run www.Shadaloo.eu and sell arcade parts, custom made shirts and hoodies and build custom arcadesticks for some amazing clients. They go to top ranked players and collectors but i've also worked with companies like Capcom, Warner Bros and Madcatz to name some.

Thanks for reading and if i can be of any help, let me know. Either through a PM or an email to info(at)shadaloo.eu
