'Business' Area : Buy/Sell/Trade / Re: WTB: working Sega Mega-tech
« on: January 29, 2014, 03:27:03 PM »
I've just managed to purchase two yesterday. They aren't in a good condition (yet). Haven't had the time to check them either so in about a week I should have more info.
Would you also need games? If so, let me know which, i have about 12 cardridges.

'Business' Area : Buy/Sell/Trade / Groupbuy adjustable PCB holder
« on: January 16, 2014, 09:38:22 AM »
On Nozomi.nl we were talking about finding PCB feet and someone came up with these amazing universal PCB holders. Asure currently has one in one of his cabs and he confirmed that they work well. So we set out to find them and found that they are sold by Suzo Happ.
I've contacted SH in Holland to inform me about availability and prices and unfortunately they are not in stock and will have to be special ordered and take about 2 weeks to get to Holland.
So i set forth and started a group buy and currently have 20+ (plus a couple for myself) of PCB holders on order.
The plan is to gather orders until the end of the month and order them so they should arrive here somewhere 2nd/3rd week of February.
The price of the PCB holder is 7,50 euro. (unfortunately more as the USA prices as SH is doing their own markup in Holland)(Grey import is no option)
Shipping costs (including boxing):
NL : 7,50
UK, BE, DE, FR, IT, ESP, SWE : 10 (without tracking), 14 (with tracking)
A box can contain a lot of units and can weigh up to 10kg for NL domestic shipments. Foreign shipping fees like the ones above can go up to 2KG which I estimate is about 4-5 units. Let me know if you want more so i can check the rate and pinpoint the weight.

The product:

- Durable black nylon plastic construction
- Great for use within Universal Kit Cabinets
- Height adjustable from 4-1/2" to 12-1/2" to hold small or large PCB's
- Able to hold multi-level PCBs
- Mounts to wall of cabinet via molded mounting holes

Interestingly, the cabinets that went to Japan had more of the Taito look (still with the "layered" Midway style cabinet):

I believe they were all built by Namco in the US.

That one looks a lot better. It does look a lot more like the picture that i received although the picture that i've got still isn't an actual photo.
I'll have to wait and see.

Yeah, you just want to see the dirty pictures HUH !!!

Jinkx, get some original Taito Jap SI's overhere and you'll sell them like hot cakes ;)

Yup i've realized that woodies from Japan would be a great score. I'm spamming my contacts with requests and they've promised to be looking around for me.

Qix is an "acquired taste" game. Some love it some hate it.

True. I actually love the game. It was one of the few games that me and my brother started out with on Ye Old C64.

I have been offered this cabinet(s?) and would just like to know if there is any interest in 'm.
It's the very rare 25th Anniversary edition Space invaders/QIX.

I have no specific info about the cabinet and will post more as soon as i get more info.

A few were made. Duh...
25 inch monitor.
Built in 2003.
Currently in Japan
Rank 1 of 100 on rarity, according to arcade museum. (for as much as that is worth anyway)
Probably expensive ;)

Maby a hack of some sort would help them work outside Japan..??

I've heard a lot of stuff like VPN's etc. but in the end I never heard a concrete solution.
I've recently bought this beauty which has the same issue. The Darius Burst cab has also been released in the US where there is no network so I'm currently talking with Taito to get the US version (HDD) of the game. So there are solutions but probably none that'll work with the japanese networks.

I've actually been offered a set of these cabs. But in the Gundam version. They are sold in sets of 4 units and would fetch around 30K-35K euro per set. Problem is that they also need to be connected to a Japanese network to function. So just after informing me about the price they told me that it's useless for anywhere outside Japan.

Great pictures, I love the ambiance.

Are these twins in a twin?
