I loaded the game, but I hear the sound, but don't see the game, I just see a black screen. Also, why doesn't the Dragon's Lair/Space Ace conv. version of the game work?

Hmmm, soory I missed it in the original post that you said it was Daphne..... Oh wait, it's NOT there

Sorry about that. Anyway, I'm pretty sure I posted there too, but the post I made about the problem appears to have vanished. Either that, or I just imagined I posted it there.

You should be more clear and detailed when explaining such problems, duh. 
Try reading the Daphne forums and FAQs before asking around, re-duh 
Since you didn't specify, I assume you're using the latest Daphne version. If not, get it and use it.
Anyway, are you using the auto-downloaded video and audio files ? If yes, they are supposed to work, so open the .m2v video file with a standard movie player (ex. Windows Media Player) and see if the video plays correctly. If you're using different video files, double check them at the same manner and also check the framefile for correctness.

On my Daphne version it works, well at least I can start the first level and play  It says "Not working" at startup but it's just a old warning message. It says something similar also for Esh's Aurunmilla but then the game works perfectly and it's very well emulated. Be sure to use the latest Daphne version, so in the preferences enable the auto-update to the latest development build. If you don't know what I'm talking about, start reading the Daphne FAQ and documentation before asking again
