Back from holidays, so its time to work again..
And by work i mean it's Mini Pong Time  :D

My neighbour was cleaning out his garage, and i spotted some glass..
You can have it he said.
It will make a nice window that i still need.

Looks like its wide enough, only inside the unit there are supports which make it smaller..
so i need it cut it..

Same procedure as for the saw, a guide with some clamps..  ::)

Hmmm, it won't break, nomatter what i try, it won't budge  >:(

I think this is tempered glass, let's take some precautions, as i have broken tempered glass before..

Exactly ! its tempered glass, just as i thought

Will look for some piece of normal glass some day.
After that i drilled 2 holes under an angle for the coin/bill slot.
Last years piggybank had trouble with bills and it cluttered up in the slot, don't want that to happen again  8)

A little off because the drill "walked away"  :-[
Well, i can live with it.
After all, i have a spare decal for the coinslot and a spare piece of vinyl, so i can always close it again.
Or maybe i will make a metal faceplate that will cover it.

Then i started cleaning up the wirepart..

A cable guide to prevent that the cables interfear with all the bills that need to go in  ;D

Pong PCB mounted next to the monitor, and tywrapped the harness.

The powerside, also nice and tidy..  :P

And this is where we stand now.  :-*

I have some more free days from work, so soon more updates  ;)

Today i accompanied my wife for some shopping at the local discounter store "Action"
I spotted some fotoframes, and bought the A4 size, that will fit good i think..

That's what i need, The price was ok, it cost me a whopping 89 Eurocents  ;D

See , fits like a glove  8)

Next up, the inner bezel, before i will do the cardboard, i was thinking how to make that fit nicely on the tube side, and i discovered that on the real Pong cabinet it is taped to the front of the tv, so that gave me the idea to use the original front of the tv.
What will fit better than the original right  ;)
Let's make some adjustments to that part so i can install that on the tube.
Got a grinderwheel in the dremel, and i am ready to cut..  :P

Hmm, that does not smell good, it melts..
Lets switch the blade for something more nasty, a mini saw !

That did the job  :)

Fits good..

Because its a bit of grey, i prepped the cover by cleaning it, now ready for some shots of Black spray paint  :P

One...

Two...

And three coats done  :-*

Next up, the sides of the front with woodgrain vinyl
Although this is the last vinyl session, its also the more tricky with the angles..
A little piece of cardboard as a template helps alot !

After applying..

The little helper liked the leftovers of vinyl, and pasted them to the back of my shirt as i was working  ;D

And this is how it looks now, i placed the top on it for the pic, will attach that at last to prevent damage..

Almost there..
Things to do:

Backdoor latch and key
(T)moulding
painting the inside of the bezelwindow yellow
paint the upper and lower back in black
Attach the Alu serial sticker on the back
fix the glass to the bezel
cardboard inner bezel

i hope i did not forget anything in this list

Ah yeah... Play it ofcourse  ::)

Love the action, the ultimate store to buy crap you don't need!  :D  ;)

The cab looks very, very nice, you're a real craftsman!

Totally agreed !

Can you tell me where you got that telescopic arm which you used to hang up the piece to spray paint ? I need something like that....
