Phoenix cpo restoration
« on: December 27, 2011, 10:56:44 AM »
Following this topic, I received  a nice gift from Etienne for Xmas, the vectorized Phoenix instruction card. :spaceace:
I sent him a bad scan and some blurry pics from a damaged one and he completely redraw the aliens and the text also.
The cp also had some serious cigs and  a nice portrait from one of the biggest german pop legends (R.I.P.), so I decdided to use Robin's brilliant method to make it nice before installing the instruction card. ;)

Used a 600 sanding paper on it

After a bit of polishing it is almost perfect, there are some deep burns where the plexi was melted and become one material with the nicotine, but it is almost invisibile.

In it's well deserved place

Also installed the bezel, that I've got from Erik at Eurocade

Finally the machine is fully working, I'm real glad that we could save another nice Zacc, I'm sending my thanks to Chris, Etienne, Erik  and all of you who helped me in this. ;D :spaceace:

nice job, bela, always good to save the original stuff! regarding the cab itself: still no fan of the zaccs, but that sideart is cool, i especially dig that astronaut!

i feel obliged to correct something though: falco is NOT german, he is / was from austria (and that's a huuuge difference ;))
all i need is ... PONG - and a select few others: TOUCH ME, DRAGON'S LAIR, JOUST, ROBOTRON, MR DO, SAN FRANCISCO RUSH THE ROCK!!!

Bela asked me to host / show the instructioncard...

This is where i started:

And this is how the card that i made from it looks like when you convert the vector PDF to EPS, and then to JPG:

And if you are in need of the card you can click here for the vector pdf file:  ;)

Glad you saved it!
About your CP restoration, first you sand lightly using the paper without water and then you use that tool on a driller?
No special product needed? It works awesomly well!

As you described, just sanding paper and that polisher disc on a driller. ;)
Ok, I also used a magic sponge at the end, but it had absolutely no further effect in this case. :D
