Thickness of Dig Dug sidepanels
« on: April 20, 2010, 08:28:22 AM »
Morning y'all,

In order to be a replica of the master of scratch build replica's  :D I'm planning to build a Dig Dug cabinet. I got most of the parts right ordered and underway, but now I need to know what thickness the sidepanels are. Is there anyone around here with some spare time left to take the measurement on his cabinet?

Thanks in advance!

Barry

Hi Muerto,

Super if you can help me. Yes, the panels where the sid art is attached. Is this 15mm? or 18mm?

Grtz,
Barry

Well... If it's not to much of trouble you could really help me out by sending a few pics from the side, front and back if you like.

Your help has been great already. Thanks a lot!

Hi Muerto,

Some other questions, so if you have the time:

1) Is the kickpanel painted black or is it black vinyl?
2) The white of the sides, is this glossy or satin? Painted or vinyl?
3) What type of speaker is used? Could you make a picture of it?
4) What's the depth of the panel the speaker is in?
5) Can you make a picture of the bezel retainers?

I know, lot of questions, but you would really help me out here!

Thanks in advance!

Hey hey! here´s some measurements:

Q3: Round one, can´t get to it... Q4: 32.7 CM

Q5: Buttom one:
Buttom: 7,5CM

Top of the buttom one: 1.9CM

Top one:
Buttom: 2.0CM

Top: 5.3CM

This is the angle of the Top retainer, and also a little trick that comes with my job  ;)
It´s a standard measuring stick, and it says 60.4CM

i have a question,

i see many scratch builders cutting the sides separate, wich takes sanding afterwards to get them even

why not cut two layers in one go ?

this saves a lot of sanding time i think

maybe there is a reason to do them separate, muerto, as a carpenter, can you explain why not to cut two layers in on go ?
