Done some thinking last weekend and I need to get some things changed. One of the issue's why my progress on the cabs is so slow (apart from a crazy winter and no heating in the gameroom yet) is that I have no decent spot to work on monitor etc. I know ideally I would have a working space about the size of my gameroom, but now my gameroom looks like a working space, which was not the intention....
When I work on stuff it's in the kitchen, which is only partially suitable for that..

Also when I do repair work on boards/monitors it's on the dining table. So, stuff can't stay there f.i. at the end of the night to work on it next evening (or the one after). Also, I have game and monitor PCB's "stocked" all over my house which is not good for them and for the house

Combining this that my son is growing up (8 already last week) I came to the conclusion:
I will be completely emptying my attic (and believe me that is a MAJOR job !) and put some new stuff on the floor, paint the walls, set-up a separating wall and make a nice (bigger) room for my son. He loved the idea when I mentioned it so there's no problem there.
This will give him more space (looks like the little fellow is almost completing his SW Lego collection !) and it will give me his room to turn into a work space !!!

Not that I can drag cabs up there, but I can set up a working desk, install my instruments etc. and leave it there ready to work.
This will allow me to work much quicker on stuff (like re-assembling SW yoke and repairing monitors).
However, the whole project will take quite some time in itself which means less time for the hobby. It's an investment I have to make....
