Brilliant !  again to the same store with a complete cab ! LOL!

Or maybe I should learn how to create a bar code that would display '@!#?@!?' on the cash register!  :P

That would be something like this   :D

The only thing the barcode generator gives an error here is this symbol "#"  ;D

So........is this an EAN code or UPC? ;)

OK, now I've to fix that damaged corner  :-\

Damn! I hate that kind of wood! So fragile

Ok, first let's remove with a metal brush the small parts of wood who aren't well attached. Before the wood filer, I need a good base. So I solidify the base with this PRIMER for wood

It's a kind of glue. After applying that primer, the wood is strong like a rock :

OK, I need to reproduce the shape. So let's make a pattern with the other 'corner side', like this

Here's the full pattern...

...cutting it...

Done. Now I've a good guide for the corner to rebuild with the usual wood filler :

Let's start to build the missing corner.

1st pass of wood filler :

Yes, because there too much wood missing, it's better to do several layers. It'll be more resistant.

2nd layer :

After sanding, it's almost done :

Few adjustments later... this is it  :-*

 :pac:

Next step : "The Trench". Router is ready

note : the brown part is a remainder of paperboard (used of the pattern replica) which is now 'encrusted' with the wood filler ;)

Now that I'm working on the top of this cab, I can notice this on the other upper side

...evidences of previous repairs. That upper part has been replaced or repaired. See the screws for example. Fine but why wasn't the new trench dug in the middle? Let's dig a new 'centered' one

The trench is a little bit too broad now, but it won't be a problem because I'll use hot glue during the T-molding operation  ;)

It's time to use my Q*Bert custom yellow paint  :-*

Beware... fresh paint  :P

Before the T-Molding, I've to paint the 'trench' in black. The wood used on that cabinet is not the best one. After so many years, the wood inflated slightly (humidity I presume...), and on some areas the wood could very slightly exceed the T-molding. For example on that area :

Here's the tools now :

Let's avoid mistakes here  ::) That's the reason why I'm using that special brush :

Done :

Oh, and of course a picture of the side 'repaired'  :-*

well done, bruno - and the color seems to be spot on. the scanner they are using at "your" home depot seems to be producing excellent results!

Nice work Bruno.

I never saw such a brush before, but now I have, and I'm sure that it will be used in my future restorations.

perhaps i'm stupid, but what can that brush do what others can't? does it allow for more delicate work?
