Wanted: MOON PATROL

Because my Toobin' ad has been so successful (the roadtrip report will be coming soon), I'm going to try this again (although I'm afraid I won't succeed this time). If I remember correctly, it must have been the FIRST arcade game I've played, therefore:

WANTED: MOON PATROL ARCADE CABINET

To be honest, I've never seen one in EUROPE (except the one I played on some 30 years ago), so I guess this is a long shot. But: IF you are bored of that game and want to sell it or IF you know anyone who might be willing to let go of it or IF you find one lying around somewhere in the wide open THEN I'm the person to contact  

I'm curious: who has ever seen a Williams' Moon Patrol dedicated cabinet over here in Europe???

i remember playing it in Pejo Trente Italy in 1983? i think, a ski resort, if it was a dedicated cab i dont know. they had krull there too, seem to remember those two i played a lot

I remember played on it, but I can't remember if it was a dedicated cabinet or not   I would say it wasn't...

I loved Moon Patrol

When I was a child there were lot in the Rimini's arcade centers (Old america and SuperStar)

Polaris is right, it was quite famous right here (and I think in europe it is one of the few places where it was imported dedicated for the north of Italy's arcade centers)

As long as I remember in Italy arrived some dedicated, but at present day I think they have been all destroyed ten years ago fot the first tax law made the government over amusement owners's properties

Anyway If you find more than one let me know because I'm interested too

I'm pretty sure I played a dedicated one in Ireland back in the day.

In Belgium I only remember seeing it in generic cabs, and half of those were bootlegs.

played moon patrol in "pleasure past time" in manchester oxford road in the 80s before the place got burnt down. found the game very hard at the time. i wonder if i can do better now??

just looked at the cab on KLOV its lovely, id love one of those sitting next to a defender cab, i think its my favourite cab shape.
dont reckon the one i played in italy was original, i seem to remember the screen laying back like a pac cab, but it was 26 years ago so i'm not sure at all.
hope you get one of those for your collection, i'd be very jealous.

Could have very well been an official license from Irem (who developped Moon Patrol) to Karateco (France):



Look at the flyer, although not real pictures,  there's a load of upright shapes drawn and all have a laid back monitor.....

Remember that Moon Patrol was licensed by Williams, so the one on KLOV is not really the "original" cab, although most Americans will probably see it as such (and following Williams style it's a _very_ nice cab indeed).

I've never seen an original Irem cab by the way....

There seems to be a lot of interest in Moon Patrol and I'd drive another 800 kilometers to get one  I can't remember either whether the one i played was in a decicated williams cabinet or not - the only thing i do remember is that the game ROCKED. i still play it from time to time on mame, but somehow sitting in front of the computer is not the same as standing in front of a huge dedicated cabinet!

i was playing this on mame last night when my wife saw me and started laughing at the vehicle in the game.  "why does it have 3 wheels"??  the game's just as tough as i remembered it to be.

perhaps i should build a MP cabinet myself like scr33n does so wonderfully - i don't think i'll ever get one in europe. let's see, i have so many projects to work on right now which will keep me occupied ALL SUMMER LONG
