Super Cobra, found an unknown bootleg version
« on: January 20, 2018, 02:31:10 PM »
I few weeks back, I found a non-working pcb marked as Super Cobra, it was a non-worker, but my friend was so kind and repaired it. :)
When he tested the game, he informed me, that the colours of the helicopter, the level indicator and the fuel bar is quite different from the known Konami/Stern version and   some of the roms and the prom does not exist in mame. The attract mode and the levels are also different.
The pcb:

The colour difference may have just been because of a different colour PROM, but I’ve never seen the bases that fire and also move. As if Super Cobra wasn’t hard enough already!

Fantastic find  :)

Thanks Phil, I'm planning to install your multigame kit to this pcb. ;)
This version is extremly hard indeed, harder than the Konami/Stern version.

Alas, your pictures of the PCB do not show for me in this post :( but it does look like an interesting variation. I too am planning on putting the multigame in one of my cabs :)
