did you put the pcbs in the dish washer?

Dish washer? It sounds a way too aggressive, doesn't it? Nope, I gave to the main board a shower.

Shower or dish washer are good. At my work, we use a kind of dish washer.
During the cleaning process, pcb are cleaning with acid.
During rinsing distilled water is use.

Wow! What a friggin awesome game!  :o
I remember playing this alot on my Amiga.

Never heard of this three screened monster of an arcade machine.
I hate monitors though, they only cause trouble and headache for me, so one is more than enough in each game....

Yes, here's in interesting video that shows all the versions : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EhyqW-r2i5g
Because I had an Amstrad CPC during the '8bits computing era', that was that specific version I played...but have a look at the C64 version... very playable for an 8bit portage! Once I've seen that C64 version, it was hard to go back on the lame Amstrad version...

OK now let's try to figure out why some sounds are missing.
In the soundboard schematics, I'm supposed to have 12V coming on this connector :

...but it's not the case.  :-X

There are two PS in the cabinet. One of the two fails to provide the expected 12V

Just found an other PS, which provides 12V! But still have the same sound issue...

Next step, close examination of the sound/amp pcb... (to continue)

I played Buggy Boy on my Atari ST. I played it to DEATH!

My local arcade also had the three screen version - same 3 monitor cabinet as Brunos but with the seat section. I played this to DEATH also. I could play it for ages and it was only 10p a go.

Buggy Boy is a great game. I am not sure where they have all gone??  ??? :(

It is strange, I remember seeing them in loads of arcades - when I got in to collecting I thought it would probably be an easy cab to find, but in 6 years I've only seen 2 of these!

Back on this  8)
Eventually found an other PS where the 12V is working.
...but still some sounds missing!  :-X

So after a close investigation I've discovered that the sounds (4 channels) provided by the PCB seems ok.
I've used a regular home computer amplifier/speakers to listen what coming for the 8 grey wires going to that connector...

...and It gives this :

1-2 : 'in game' sound effects (those who are missing!  :-*  [channel 1]
3-4 : Background motor sound (only when I drive inside tunnel) [channel 2]
5-6 : main motor sound [channel 3]
7-8 : main motor sound (I didn't spot any difference than the previous channel) [channel 4]

Sooo... I obviously have a problem with the amplification of the first channel (1-2 pin).

Sooooo... while I'm waiting an other spare sound board to arrive, I've just 'shifted' the connector (the one in the orange spot) to the left... so I've lost one of the four channel, the channel 4 which provides obviously the same signal than the channel 3...  ;D
In game, I do not spot any sounds missing, check this out  :-*

Remember, a seat (which I do not have like other BB owners) is supposed to be connected to that cabinet, and there's is a connector going from the cabinet to it. My guess is that extra channel is for the speakers on that seat. This is something I'm going to check.

But by now, I can *at last* enjoy some Buggy Boy games!  :P :)

You're right, the left screen geometry should be set correctly. That's gonna be done the next steps. I was so happy to have the sounds back that I forget to take care about other details  ;)
