not exactly... I've also some work to do regarding the control panel and ... the Atari Joystick as you'll see.

My basic strategy is to use a dril that's a little bit larger than the area where the key goes and drill away. Ruin as much as possible. If I think it has had enough I will take a big flat screwdriver and try to force it in as much as possible and then give it a good turn. If it doesn't work, more drilling is needed. Then I try the screwdriver again. At a ceratain point the lock will give and you'll be able to turn it open with the screwdriver. So far my highly unscientific way. But it works.

Oh and you can just as well remove it from the back if that's already open of course

or just pick the lock  

after the door opens, then the second option from Level42 is very easy and you dont need to crawl through your cab

The overall condition is not bad at all...



Now let's see why I cannot go 'down' on this original Atari joystick (I cannot hear the sound of the switch) :

Ok, it seems to be a problem of ...dust   See, the 'white ball' cannot move as it should do    :



Let's put all the plastic part inside a simple soap+water bath...



'Almost' like new?

Bath 1 : Anti rust for metal parts / Bath 2 : Strong soap + water for cleaning the plastic parts...



...oh... and yes, 'bath' number 3 for drinking (Dr Pepper inside)
