::Saturday - 23rd of August 2008 ::
Remember the
PacMan Jr / Gyruss road trip
... and the 'Three sides for every story' picture (from one of my all time favorite funk/metal band : EXTREME) ? Remember
Well... this is the second part of the story
Yes... I already have two cabs from that seller : Gyruss + Pac Man Jr... but there is an other one... and I cannot MISS it
OK, let's prepare the usual 'road trip' stuff :
...yes, I'm taking the latest (at the time) Retro Gamer Mag... for reading it during the Euro Tunnel Journey
It's very early this time... 5:35am ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZ
The Darth Car is ready...
Here's the plan for today
For my 'distance driven during road trip' statistics
I don't like to drive in the dark
But the reward of the day give me THE motivation
Few hours later... I'm crossing the Belgian / France border
...and later...here's the all famous 'EuroTunnel'~
...the 'check in' machine...
This time, it allows my wife to play the Atari 2600 Ms Pac Mac port
Hey, I don't want this version please... I'm here for the real stuff
OK, entering the beast
'Reading time' during the crossing (less than one hour under the water
)
...and Welcome to UK ... mind the gap ... mind the gap...
The world famous M20 ... the world famous 'Dartford Bridge' .... still the same story in fact... but I assure you it's not the same pictures

On location... here's the beauty (
...and the beast
)
As you can see, it's an empty cab... but its cosmetic condition is hopefully not to bad
Let's load it
This is it... I love my car... I can load so many different cab's in it
Let's be sure that I'll bring back all the parts needed in order to rebuild this Miss
Let's protect the original bezel before the journey :
The seller is very nice... but this is the worst part of the road trip ...
I've to pay him of course.
Even If I'm closing my eyes, I'm very happy
Ok, let's go back to Belgium ... what's that strange black smoke
It looks like an house is ...burning
Oh my god
One more time... driving on the Dartford Bridge...
We are hungry... Yes ! It's also a part of all 'road trip'
Not a McDo, not a Burger King... but a ... WIMPY ? First time we eat that
Ok, back on the road... here's the last control before entering the Euro Tunnel... Nothing to declare ? No No Mr ... We are just bringing back an old video game
Too late my UK friends... you've just lost an important game in the arcade history ... Ms Pac Man
We are entering inside 'Le shuttle' ... nothing will stop us now
During the 'cross'... I'm dreaming about a Miss Pac Man of course
...but I've to be careful ... 'coz my wife is sitting just at my side
Few hours later... Belgium has now a new important arcade game, yessssss
I'm driving very slow... a cow seems to say something to my wife
And finally, we are at home
1081km on the road during 14 hours and 35 minutes ...not too bad
... (faster than the first trip for the Gyruss/Pac Man Jr - 1107km / 17h20min)
Unloading the game ... into the Nuno's Lair V2 of course
It looks very good isn't it ?
All the parts I got with the cab... all the important ones are there

<Chuckle> That made me laugh...
Wimpy sucks, expensive and small portions..... They used to be massive in the 80's and then they went all "restauranty" trying to get rid of their "fast food" image. I mean COME ON! They also used to do a halfer pounder burgers, in those days they were good!

if they still do the ' Bender in a Bun' ( embarrasing to ask for one though
) you have to try one, its a garlic sausage in a bun instead of a burger, AMAZING.
NOTE a bender is a slang term for a homosexual, so you can see why i don't like asking for a bender in a bun, i ask for the garlic sausage burger.
