:: UK Road Trip #12 - GYRUSS + JR PAC MAN ::
« on: October 10, 2008, 11:21:01 PM »

Back for a new roadtrip... it's been a while isn't it  :)

This back, back to 'roots' ... it'll be a UK roadtrip ... yes yes... I guess I should live over there  8)

Ok, it's Wednesday evening, the 13rd of august 2008 (three months ago ??? Yes ... arg  ::) ). Let's prepare the car... and a trailer for tomorrow :

Yes...a trailer because there will be TWO games  8) One will be on the trailer, the other one inside my car

Hey ... what about the Dr Pepper cans ?  They are already in the car, with other usual roadtrip items  :P

Ok, D-Day  ::)  :arrow:

4:35 AM

Here's the travel of the day :

Wait... I won't do it alone... this time, Sam [guardian of my Galaxian Theater in his garage for more than one year] will be a part of this story.
For information, traveling to UK via the Euro Tunnel will be a premiere for him  :spaceace:

Here's the man :

Starting from Belgium... and 3h30 or 4h00 later... arriving in France

...and at Calais, where we'll use the Euro Tunnel

Few minutes before entering into le Shuttle

Here we go  :spaceace:

Time to waste ? Hopefully we have a Retro Gamer mag' with us to read :-*

Welcome in UK :

M20 ... all the way  8)

The DartFord bridge...

...and the price to pay  :pac: :ghost: :ghost: :ghost: :ghost:

Driving in England is easy (I mean driving on the left part of the road) when you're driving on a motorway... but you really have to be careful in the small roads like this one  :

On location. Here's the games

 :-* :-* :-*

As you can see, these cabs are in a really good cosmetic condition  :-* :-* :-*

Have a look at the side art on both games ... great condition  :-* :-* :-*

Beautiful isn't it  :-* :-* :-*

The Gyruss will be in the car...

Did you notice ? I'm very happy to finally found a Gyruss... a game on my 'MUST HAVE' list  :P :D

Because that Pac Man will be on a trailer, we have to protect it as much as possible  :pac:

...AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE...

It should be fine now  ;)

...very well protected, even the base... in case of rain (don't forget we are in England now)  :spaceace:

Very kind seller by the way... but It's the worst moment ( £££  :P:lol:

Ok... we are far from home... time to say good bye, and add two more great vintage cabs in Belgium  ;D

Sam is hungry... let's make a stop...

Nice T-shirt by the way, isn't it   :pac: :ghost: :ghost: :ghost: Did ya say Geeks  ::) :P ;D

Back on the Dartford bridge...

UK means rain... almost all the time  :-\ ...

Arriving at the EuroTunnel... nice cab car  :-*

...in France...

...and in the final country  BELGIUM POWER !!!  ;D

Of course... no more empty space in my game room or in my house... So once again, Sam will keep the games in his garage few days/weeks/months/...  ::) ;D He's not to angry...because these games are smaller than the Galaxian Theater  :D :D :D

Now the RT details   :P

1107km / 17h20min on the road, 100km under water (Euro tunnel)  :spaceace:

More details on both games soon  :-*

Back on this.. here's the missing part of that story  ::) :P

I was only supposed to get a Pac Man Jr and a Gyruss... but ... when I saw this one

 :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

... I had to ask to the (very nice and smart  :-*) seller if he would be ok to sell the Ms. to me  ::) :P ;D

Of course, impossible to bring it back with the two others cab, so I had to do a new road trip  :o ;D

Check this out
