OK whatever you do, remove that cap NOW...

The electrolytic stuff will eat your board !

Be sure to replace both caps. If one's gone, the other is not far from going too. These two are in parallel AFAIK.

About the tint: that's the hard part if you don't have an original to match it. I'd go a bit lighter rather than darker for the reason of having to "overdrive" the monitor with a really dark one.

I will remove them but still need a good technician for a complete review.

I will put correct fuses on monday (all the labels are here - it helps !).
Is there an article to check the different power levels ?

Found some pictures from my Galaxian perspex replacement.

I assume the tints are the same on Pac Man.

On the first pics you see the original plexi. It's really dark and has a smoke (brownish) like tint which i HATE. On the good side, that color is not available anymore (at least not from my local dealer). I don't like the colors of a game to be tinted so the "tint" I chose was color-less or "black/gray" if you want...

You can see I chose a lighter tint then the original. I might even go lighter today....not sure....

IMHO the dark tint of the plexis used on Pac, Ms.Pac etc is the cause for the immense burn that these monitors usually have (I know mine had !!) because they had to turn up the brightness so high. Remember the factories didn't need the games to last that long ;)

Immense burn in?! Where? Here is a picture of my tube:

Hardly any burn in.  ;D ;D ;D

Yes, I will replace my smoked plexiglasses bezels (PM, ms. PM, Galaga and Galaxian) also for less dark ones this week, although the new ones will be made from glass.

With the burn monitor, maybe not going to light... Best would be to find a perspex supplier and try different tint.
