Yes, indeed, I had read several years ago on their Twitter feeds that they were using PCs to replace the video part (thus replacing the laser disc players).
You can actually see it quite clearly in the picture
The ships, laser shots, as well as the score, are superimposed on the images produced by the PC(s).
Interesting to see that they used Windows XP as the operating system.
I would have loved to have more information on this topic, but unfortunately, it is very difficult to get direct information
. One day, I hope I'll go to Japan to see their monster in action and ask all the questions I've since years!
