Totally Friggin' Amazing!!!  I would surely love to join this club (being a G3 owner).  I don't know if I'll ever be able to own a G3 Theatre.. but if the opportunity ever comes.. I'll shoot for the stars on it!!  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D     :spaceace:   :spaceace:

I guess DarthNuno is pretty annoyed by now because his theater is still shattered in pieces everywhere. :-)

BTW Strange ... the theatre doesn't have a roof. Is this normal?
Title: Re: Saving Galaxian Theater... in Japan !!!
Post by: Sonic 1992 on May 29, 2008, 04:53:16 PM
Don't worry, I'm sure he's patitenly Happily waiting to assemble his!!! :D

It does look like some of the roof is missing, as we saw Nuno removing the roof on his during disassembly.

Maybe they were unable to get the roof pieces, or they were missing when they acquired it??

I would say yes. On my GT-6, the previous owner used as a roof some '5 meters long' boards, through which he placed panels of wood/foam...

... and that 'roof' doesn't look to be something made by Namco ...

But of course I don't have any confirmation of that because I only know my GT-6 and now this one from Ikke...

All work was carried out on April 13,2008.
They spent it on assembling work for 8 hours or so.
(Why "They"? Because the physical condition was bad, I was absent at that time... :'( )

There is no roof in our GT-6.
I have not seen GT-6 with the roof.

However, because light from the ceiling is bright, the projector is
hard to see.
Then, we pasted the blackout curtain.

Thanks for the correction Tom#2  :-*

8 hours on assembling  :o Oppss ... We spent something like 2 x 8 hours or so  ...just to disassemble my GT-6. And it's supposed to be the easiest part for course  ::) :-\ ... ok, we were only two for doing the job  :P ;)

A Black curtain sounds like I good idea, thanks for the tip  :-* I had the idea to do the 'roof' like it was on my GT-6 before to disassemble it :

I'll try to know if this roof was 'custom made' or the official one from Namco  8)

Wooden roof may be not the official one. As I remember, no mention in Japanese manual and I've never seen it before.
Grating-like iron parts are just the official. I believe that those 6 pieces are only "roof" of GT-6.
Title: Re: Saving Galaxian Theater... in Japan !!!
Post by: level42 on July 10, 2008, 11:57:53 PM
It could very well be that it didn't have a roof for safety (fire) reasons....

I don't recall. I played it in London back in the early 90's. I remember the game clearly, but not the roof.... :D

Great thread, and to any Japanese readers here: Does anybody have a Samba de Amigo cab for sale overt here ? :D

I'm always asking where this Galaxian³ logo came from ? :

I thinK i got the answer  :P This logo is very similar than the one at the entrance of the GH-28, located at the 'Namco Wonder Eggs' theme park :

...but I'm not sure because the size seems different ?

Well, I just wanted to learn a thrid language. So I started on japanese. I think it is hard to learn (I got my problems with numbers and times/dates) but I'm trying.
I think, I wouldn't survive a day on my own in japan with my japanese skills, just because I can only read hiragana and no katakana or kanji yet.

It moved to one corner of the warehouse of TAITO located in Kumagaya the other day.
There is no information beyond this also in the site shown since there were photography restrictions in the warehouse.

The assembly of GALAXIAN3 is planned at this weekend.
However, since there are photography restrictions, it is undecided whether the same record as the time of disassembling.

I have just looked at your website. You have a nice selection of devices (although many of them are "new," from the 90s onwards). Moving is always cumbersome, unless you already have an alternative location or hall. I hope everything goes well for you!

I really hope you'll find a new location fast and a way to continue to operate a maximum of games. Congratulations for keeping all these games so far in a non-profit model (for the fans), and especially that Galaxian3 Theater6.

Here's the translation for everyone of your announcement :

The arcade game museum project will be withdrawn from the site by November 30, 2023 due to Taito Co., Ltd.'s facilities.

As of September 1, 2023, the new location has not yet been decided.
We are looking for a property where we can carry out warehouse opening activities, and we are looking for a property with good conditions in the Kanto region and the suburbs of three prefectures, within a range that our staff can commute to.

If you can't find a property, we are considering selling the cabinet to reduce the number of owned equipment, suspending activities, and disbanding.

Our top priority is to find properties where we can operate and continue to develop our activities, so we will not be accepting inquiries regarding the sale of large housing for the time being.
We will notify you at the time of sale.

The final opening of the warehouse is scheduled for the consecutive holidays in the second half of September.
Since then, Galaxian 3 Theater 6 has been dismantled during the October holidays, and we plan to dismantle it once a new location has been decided.
In that case, we will announce it on X (old Twitter).

The nearly three-year suspension of activities due to the coronavirus pandemic has had a big impact on the Arcade Game Museum Project, which is run with the funds of the representative and assistant representative's own funds as well as donations from those who came and enjoyed the event.
However, we have continued our activities while hoping for the day when we can enjoy playing games with everyone again after the coronavirus pandemic is over.

In the spring of 2023, we opened the warehouse several times due to the relaxation of restrictions on events, etc., but we were unable to have as many people as we did before the coronavirus pandemic, so we opened the warehouse to fewer people than before.

To be honest, since we are not in the business of profit-making, we are worried about what to do with our future activities.
With the move from Taito's warehouse, we are considering various future activities.

We are trying our best to maintain the game center, a place where everyone can freely experience arcade games and have a good time, but there are limits to what we can do without income, and we are limited in scale. We have no choice but to consider including the reduction of

It will be about 3 months until the complete withdrawal, but we hope that many people will enjoy it.
We would appreciate it if you could visit us when the warehouse is open.

Last but not least, when we suddenly decided to relocate the Game Expo Project's Ayame Warehouse, we received your support for our activities and lent us the facility in Kumagaya for 12 years, which greatly contributed to the development of the Game Expo Project. We are very grateful to Taito Co., Ltd. for their cooperation.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all of you. I'm really thankful to you.

We hope that you will continue to support us through our activities at Taito Kumagaya Warehouse.

At this timing, "the Museum" is being featured on the stream.
It will be brought up several times in the future.

I have just looked at your website. You have a nice selection of devices (although many of them are "new," from the 90s onwards). Moving is always cumbersome, unless you already have an alternative location or hall. I hope everything goes well for you!

Thank you.
We hope that we can find a good place to relocate.
