My dad's company was a transport company too, but since they were only a small branch of a German company (in time it was owned by Koenigsfeld, Incotrans, Rhenania and now Wincanton) they only had one telex...
The telex was essential in the transport business...until the telex was sent the deal wasn't officially done

This was also the time of type writers with 2 layers of carbon and tipp-ex
They also had a computer ONLY to do bookkeeping. It was lovingly called "the organ" because of it's shape and size

Don't remember much about that one though, I wasn't allowed to operate it (I did do some telexing). The automatic coffee machine giving free choco was another thing we could hardly believe as kids
