This is the one they had later:

It was SO much quieter that this could actually stand in the same area where people worked. The older one was in a separate "telex room" because of the noise !

This one :D

They worked for the same forwarding company for 40 years, try to imagine their telex room with about 40 pieces of these machines. :D

Yep that's the one on that video I'm sure ! :)

My dad's company was a transport company too, but since they were only a small branch of a German company (in time it was owned by Koenigsfeld, Incotrans, Rhenania and now Wincanton) they only had one telex...

The telex was essential in the transport business...until the telex was sent the deal wasn't officially done ;)

This was also the time of type writers with 2 layers of carbon and tipp-ex  ;) ;)

They also had a computer ONLY to do bookkeeping. It was lovingly called "the organ" because of it's shape and size :) Don't remember much about that one though, I wasn't allowed to operate it (I did do some telexing). The automatic coffee machine giving free choco was another thing we could hardly believe as kids ;)

OMG how we messed up this thread.....but it was fun !!! :)

Hi,

I've got, what i believe is a KTM-20, and i'd like to cap it.
Level42, in your original post you mention three different chassis,  KFM-20, KTM-20 & KTN-20, which are the caps for?

this image is the exact chassis i have  (thanks to jomac)  http://www.jomac.net.au/images/Chassis/kortek_ktm20.jpg

many thanks
