Yet another great restauration, beautifully documented.

Congrats Bruno.

I'd like to ask: do you have any documentation on that dos configuration on that compact flash card.
I'm very interested on installing it on some (very old) pc-motherboards. They are way too old to run XP (or even 98). And no hard drives for those mother boards. Lucky for me they still have their power supplies, internal memory and processors.

No rush Bruno (the pc in my mame cabinet runs the games I play smoothly under mame-xp). Maybe I'll be able to pick up that particular knowledge when we meet. (I might just start a petition to have Buger King start in Belgium)
Once again: great cab !  :P

Great renovation as always. I cant get over how much better the cabinet looks painted red.

I just watched your YouTube video. Was the music from a film called "Electric Dreams". I remember seeing the film in the summer of 1984 in New York. There was a huge arcade next door to the cinema in those days.

Bruno,

Could you answer the following for me (and others)

Where did you get the following and how is the quality ?

Control Panel (I take it, that it was complete) was it from Mikes arcade ?

All the other artwork from the link to the eBay shop ?

I don't want to get inferior parts and as you have them, that might help others  :)

I have no idea why I missed this thread........ Great restoration Bruno (as always :) )!

You take a different approach to it then I do, but I can appreciate your way too.
I personally prefer to keep the original boards running as much as possible. And if at all possible the original monitor too, although I've learned a great deal from your TV replacement method with other cabs of course ! :)

Tell me did you save the original monitor (parts) ?? I sure hope so !
I'd be interested in them !

Also, did you save the RS parts ? Was there a RS PCB-set inside ?

But the most important question of all:

>>>>>>   Do you have a paint-code for that red paint <<<<<<<< ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

Please, please ? And what brand/type paint did you use ?

I have exactly the same problems (worse) as you with the sides of my Red Nintendo cab and I'd LOVE to fix it just like you did (not re-paint the entire side, also because my cab already has the Mario Bros side-art on it.

Here's a link to my RS/MB restoration:

Here the details :

...I hope it can hepl  8)

I'm sure you'll do something great on your cab  :-* Great job already done by the way, thanks for your link  :-*

Owwww.....sorry about the monitor parts..... Glad you still got the RS parts though....are you interested in selling them ? Is the PCB there ?

Thanks for the paint pics ! Corona is an ICI brand. Regretfully ICI is almost a non-existant paint brand in The Netherlands. We mostly have paints of AkzoNobel (Sikkens). Incidently AkzoNobel just bought ICI, but I don't think I will find a mixing machine like that overhere.....

The sticker doesn't seem to have any percentage codes either.... :S

So.....did you need all the paint in that pot ? :D :D :D ;)
