According to the manual this mobo does not have a parallel port...

Originally not, I installed a pci parallel port card today, windows indicates, that it is working correct, but the programmer still doesn't work.
The program indicates "hardver error, check connection and power supply".
I double checked everything, the voltmeter shows the correct voltage and all of the cables are connected. ???

Still think it would have been better to fork over the $100 for an original real USB one.
A few UKVAC folks use this one...
