In addition, I know that you've been collecting some spare parts (LD players for example) what about the actual projectors?  Were you planning on using those analog beasts, or were you go upgrade to something more modern (smaller, sharper and uses a lot less power) ??

Google sketchup is a very good tool to plan gamerooms  ;)

Bruno, try placing the theather in the middle of the room and see if you can place some cabinets close to the walls...

I like the idea of having it back into a wall, but it will probably feel better if it was in the middle of the wall with space on each side to fill with a game or 2.. it also makes the theater look like the center piece of the room, rather than something filled in afterwards.

I second that! The theater would be a kind of natural room divider.

Bruno, if you just started with Sketchup, do you know that you can enter the dimensions simply after setting the startpoint? For example to draw a rectanlge simply click on the starting point an then enter the dimension, separated with a ;   Be sure to set Sketchup to metric dimensions (or whatever you prefer) :)

Yeps, but I've used for that first draft the 'outside' values of the room. I'll create a new project with the 'real internal' values, which should me more like 7,60m x 9,75m, when removed the size of the walls, and other insulation parts (which are estimated atm).

In addition, I know that you've been collecting some spare parts (LD players for example) what about the actual projectors?  Were you planning on using those analog beasts, or were you go upgrade to something more modern (smaller, sharper and uses a lot less power) ??

Yes, I have some spare parts, but I also have the idea to try more 'modern' projectors.

It's a cool idea. I'll figure out if it's an 'accurate' location for the GT6 (Galaxian Theater model name, but you all know this  ::) ;D). The idea is to also have as much space as possible for other games...

Hehe, there'll be a run of 50 'collector' tickets  ;D ! Can't wait too  :P :P :P

OK, back the the floor...

...let's say it's 95% done  :)

I'll put the last pieces when the door (already ordered) will be there, or when I'll have a better way to close the hole of the *missing* door.

What would be the minimum empty space to leave between the walls and the Theater? Can it be assembled against the walls?

no empty space for the Theater.
It has opened a space in the photo above is due to a circuit breaker or put things.

Yeps, these OSB panels are really easy to assemble. In addition, I've done exactly the same job for the V1 and V2... 8)

Just to be 100% sure, you confirm I can do this?

GT6 against the 2 walls, no empty space where the 2 red arrows are located in my picture?

That's a good new, it means no waste of empty space!  :)

I don't know why you plan so much, just build it, if you don't like where the GT-6 is you can always move it   :D :D

The closer this comes to reality the more insane it seems, it's so big next to those cab renders  :spaceace:
