Because I won't use OSB for covering the common wall, I've to hide all the electric wires...

...done :

Socket inside the wall :

And this

...leading to the new light switch. Same model than the first room. I can set the amount of light with a cursor :

Project is coming along nicely.  Do you plan on using the same paint color and same carpet in the new space ?   What cabs are going to call the new space home ?

Yes, I'll use a different color/carpet... it'll be more 'Arcade Underground Ambiance' ...back in the 80's  8)

Stay tuned of course  ;D  ;)

Looking great!

It's very surprising to see the way different parts of the world do construction as opposed to the way we do it here in Canada.  Most of our homes and additions are wood buildings (with brick on the outside as a veneer) We add R22 insulation in the walls + drywall to finish off. Also, the roofs (where most of the heat is lost) has 2-3 times more insulation than the walls.

I'm not sure how the weather is in Belgium in the winter (we get to -30 Celsius here and colder in Toronto) so the building style seems to be very different.

How do you normally heat the gaming room in the winter?

Thanks  ;D

Welcome leonk on this topic  :-*

Well, the weather in Belgium is not so cold than the one in Canada. I agree it's cold, but not that much  :P
The *bad* thing about the weather is ... the rain.  :(

The priority for my was to avoid humidity.

For the first room, I use this radiator (hot oil inside )

Of course it will be too small for warming the new room too , so I'll have to buy a new one.

Its the sames plaster boards I've used in the first room.

I'm only use them for the common wall. So their fixing is done   ::) ;D I just need to sand the joint between the boards.

I am truly amazed!

I've never seen plaster board (drywall) installed on top of plywood.  Your wall must be super strong because of this.  Is this the way homes are built in Belgium?

No No  :o , the plaster boards are installed only on this wall

...not on the plywood (OSB boards) of course ;)

Stay tuned for the coming pictures  :P ;)

I dont know how normal houses are built in belgium, but most german houses are built of (diffrent sorts of) stone (some of lime malm brick, or clinker and so on). :)

Same picture with the light on  :) Of course I'm in the first room  :D :

I've to protect this area on this first room (especially the carpet), because... it's the D day... it's time to open the way between the two lairs  8)

Go back to the V2 :

3...2...1 ... let's go  :spaceace:

At the same time, in the first lair  :ghost:  8)

A magical moment for me  :P ;D

This is it ! I can walk between the two rooms... well... not exactly... the first lair is fully load of cab'

The different layers of the common wall :

A lot of work of work to do now, in order to make something proper

Bye bye... orange wall  ;D

It's time to finish the opening between the two rooms :

Regarding the electricity wire, the choice is done. It'll take this way

Let's go :

(you can see the 'famous' electricity wire)

Plaster boards to cover the cement :

Done  8) Now let's fill the area on the floor who are joining the rooms

Holy Jesus... A lot of dust on the carpet  :o

Ok... nothing is damaged  :P :D
