Just got back. Thanks everyone for the nice rt.  Special Thanks to level42 for sharing.

You're welcome ! I hope the NBA got home dry !! Next time bring a plastic tarp;)

That was a big surprise by the way, all the times I've been ther I never saw it, Then again, it couldn't have been any further hidden in the back !!!  ;D

it was mostly dry thanks to chris who kindly lend me one of his mat, thanks mate ! In the end there was lots of surprise ;) Bad point the son of the owner removed the keylocks in the front and kept the keys , so now i'll have to drill the remaining keyslocks

Yeah, they're nuts about keeping the keys for some reason. My guess is they maybe use one dedicated key for all their cabs and don't want them to be robbed by us ;)

But usually the dad removes the entire locks so everything is open...

Did anyone make a front shot of the Caterpillar ?

I think that this cool "second bezel" (like Universal did them) was removed right?

Heheheh....

So, do we know what the "Pacific Manufacturing" company is ? Because that was indicated on the Taito cabs serial plates...?
I wonder if these were built in Japan....

Mmmm.... this is what is listed on Taito's official site:

1963   Established subsidiary Pacific Industries Ltd. with the aim of planning, developing and producing our own products.

So that's answered I guess...

Glad they made it !!

Good you had lots of friends for the unloading !!!

The seller told me that although it didn't move any more, the game was running some time ago and his grand child played it once in a while. However when we tried it at the time JCP was interested in it it didn't give any signs of live...

The Super Bug is insanely heavy, I wonder what is in there....gold bricks ??

One thing is sure: the weather is a lot better at your place !!

ok so the monitor in the PD is dead, strange it looks really really clean almost like its a new one.  there is 110v on the connector so it will need a little further investigation...  the fans all come on, as do the led#s on the board.

cheers,

I hope you get it running quickly ! PD was one of the rare games I frequented at the arcade in the "later years". As with ALL upright versus cockpit/sit-down games the last kind is simply 4 times better....the movement of the game plus the software "tilting" of the screen image (a novelty then) were creating such a great effect.

I hope you can master it and show us a video of the bonus track where instead of a car you have an Afterburner plane !

hehe me too ;)

next question - i cant so far find the cockpit manual on the internet, only the upright.  It would also appear that the monitor is a 26" Sanwa which was only used in this game........  here is a couple of pics if anyone recognises it or has schems for it ?
Notice how clean and shiny it is - weird !

cheers,
