Title: The warehouse groupbuy
Post by: level42 on September 16, 2011, 09:55:24 AM
Ok now Eurocade 2011 is history it's time for something that might interest some of you guys.

Guess most of you remember "the warehouse" in Belgium where I picked up the Berzerks, Centi's, Armor Attack and Video Pinbal, among others......

There is still interesting stuff left in there and not too long ago I went back to visit to look at the HD cockpit that's stil there. (That one is reserved for me !!)

Now, the seller seems to be willing to get rid of cabs for quite interesting prices.
Some prices he mentioned:
Taito cabs, blue various games pcb or not inside...50 euros.
Power Drift sit down NOT WORKING : 100 euro !

I have a feeling that most uprights can be had for 50-75 euros.

There are still a number of Zacc's there as well, amongst them a Vanguard.

Seller told me he was willing to deliver the cabs if we buy more at once. Now I don't have ANY space to store them so that would be a bit hard to arrange I guess.

Anyway, post here if you are interested and in what. Also: don't expect to get brand new working machines. Prices are according to this. Some are better than others.

RESERVED list:  (ON THIS LIST ONLY PEOPLE WHO EITHER COME NEXT SATURDAY OR HAVE ARRANGED TRANSPORT !!!!

Level42:          Hard Drivin' cockpit (GT)
Kroustibat:      Virua Fighter2, Breakout (PU)
Hatster:          Power Drift, Breakout, Super Bug (1/4) (PU by Dave), if possible 3x Exidy machines
Polderarcade:   Ridge Racer 2x, Super Bug (2/4), Tekken, Phoenix cabaret (for friend) (GT)
ckong:            Super Bug (3/4) MUST have PCB & non faded marquee & decent bezel,MAYBE Super Bug (4/4) (PU)
ChrisChris:       (Super) Breakout if any left.. (PU)
RobinHolland:   Vanguard (Zaccaria), 1 Taito cab, maybe more Zacc's ? (GT)
Eurotronic:       (Super) Breakout if any left... and Mechanized Attack (PU)
Rémi75:          Taito cabs (PU)
Belike:            Super Galaxian(s)

WANTED list:
Alpha1:           Taito Phoenix, Taito Space Chaser (IF in good condition and complete....)
Blanka:           Generic "beaten" cab

(Super) Breakout is reserved for Gyruss.

is there a list of dedicaded cab  ?

else i'd be interested in cheap generic cabs for the screen. I'd be interested in parts of the power drift, but only if he can not find someone for the complete cab

I've got a list somewhere, let me see if I can bind it.

Hmmm, I'm spending my vacation in Belgium (Brügge) in two weeks. Maybe I pick up a cab as a little souvenir ;) A list would definitely cool!!

Wow, the Power Drift dlx is still here  :o !
Of course, you didn't take it remember .....

I think nothing really changed since our last visit.....

Here's a list that is about up to date:
https://files.me.com/andre.huijts/k3yrlx

Again: the Hard Drivin' and (super) Breakout are reserved.

Crossed my mind to get all the monitors from the Wimi's but I don't think the seller will be OK with that...

He also has a lot of USED 19" VGA arcade monitors. Good for MAME, 60in1 and using a converter with Claasic games.

Hey,

I would take the Power Drift sit-down if available and would love a breakout if any left ;)
(edit)Think i would probably like a nice Superbug also depending on price....(/edit)

if anyone gets the Taito phoenix i could really use a scan of the control panel as i have the same cab with the panel missing !

thanks,

Kev.

Complete / original ? Higly doubtful for the Space Chasers.
MAYBE for the Phoenix, would have to check.

Put me down for a Super Bug for sure. Gameboard has to be in it. Non faded marquee as well and decent bezel. If necessary I will take two to make one nice cab out of them.

@TimePilot....sorry for my Hard (Drivin') reply ;)

Anyway, I put up a "wanted" list in the first posting. Please all check and let me know if I missed something.

Looking good so far. Regarding prices, I think no one really has to worry....
Let's CLEAN that warehouse people ;)

@Polder: that would be GREAT.

Let us know when you convinced your dad  :)

For those interested: For now I am thinking about arranging ONE "pick up day" at the seller's warehouse.
The guy doesn't speak English and doesn't seem to do any internet comms. So it will be a nightmare to have stuff picked up one at a time etc.
And I'm going into the busiest time of year for me, extra rehearsals and performances with the drum band, both my and wife's birthday in november and of course december....anyway, I want to spend as little time as possible and not going to arrange everything "per cab".

Things could improve on that front if Polder would be able to help out....but that's uncertain for now....

Only if we can arrange something with f.i. Polderarcade,

I would LOVE to see that Power Drift go to someone !

I would LONG have it myself if I had the space. It's one of the rare games I loved to play after the Golden Age in the arcade at Scheveningen.
I had the upright for a while and although a fun game, the movement of the machine AND sitting down is half the fun...especially because the screen tilts in the corners....

-Judge Dredd pinball

Hi, the seller is Flemish so the French won't be actually helpful this time ;)

The Gee Bee is already gone. Was sold to Robby. He put it on Marktplaats a few weeks later and we don't know if he sold it or still has it.
About the Taito's...let's see what's left...put you on the list !

Updated in list !

Polder is willig to offer some space and help in this group-buy ! However, since he will need some space where normally caravan's are stalled we need to pay some storage fee. So, people needing this keep this in mind. No idea how much it will be...we'll have to figure that out. Of course if it comes to a "big haul" from The Warehouse (TM) to Polderarcade (who lives in the Amsterdam area) the goal should still be to get your cab out of his place ASAP....

I remember the seller told me it was playing without moving just before we went over there. His grand-child had been playing it....
So, who knows, it maybe an easy fix, but getting the moving back working could prove a bit more of a challenge...

He was, not anymore now.  ;D

I brought the GeeBee with me from the warehouse on special request of robby, because he liked it so much. I stored it a few weeks, or maybe even a few months for him, and a couple of weeks after he picked it up, he put the cab for sale. I tried to buy it back from him, for the price he paid me, but it was already gone, so he told me.

It's really too bad, because as Level42 said, it was in a superb condition. And it was only € 80 or something like that. What a waste, I should have kept it right away. One lesson learned, if you see something nice, buy it, don't hesitate.

Allright i'm giving up here  :P :P :P :P, if there is any breakout or super breakout left, I'd be happy to grab one.
But Gyruss comes first on this one of course!
I'm so weak when it comes to classic cabs...

FYI: I can store a few cabs at my place (near Nivelles in Belgium) for a month or two if needed.

Its such a great idea to buy a bunch of cab together!
Very cool level42! :)

I would like space invaders, breakout, fuckman, asteroids, and mechanized attack.
Maybe some more, depending of condition/price.
Do you think those cabs can go for 100 each?
Let us know what still left.

The guys seem to have also some pinballs around..
Dont you know if he could have a adams familly there?

This thread turn me in "compulsive buying" mode! :P :P

SI, Asteroids (Deluxe) and all pinballs are long gone. (The SI and AD even before I visited the first time....much to my regret !!!)

The Puckman was not for sale, he still rented it out for parties and stuff. But maybe he changed is mind. There's a xx-in-1 in it.

MY  Puckman is for sale though !!! (and it's much nicer :))

I''l put you on the list for Breakout and Mechanized Attack.
They will easily go for 100 each I'm sure...

What is still left is the stuff in the PDF file I linked to earlier in this thread minus the stuff reserved on the list in the first posting...

Apart from that PDF there are loads of Wimi style uprights and lots of Bingo's. There are (CD) jukeboxes, dart machines and that kind of stuff...

Guys i need some more confirmations to make this worthwile for the seller ( and for me)

Let me know if you can or can not pick up your cabs on oct. 8 th and if you can't, if you want them to be transported to Polderarcade's storage. Polder kindly offered TEMPORAY storage for a VERY fair price, but of course he wants to get rid of the machines ASAP too.

PLEASE EVERYONE who is on the interest reply here ASAP...thanks.

Hi level42,
Did the seller tell you whats last in the warehouse?
Is there enough breakout for all of us who want one?
Also did he give you some prices?
Thanks. :)

Anyway, have a great time raiding the place and take many pics. :)

True, Ckong!
I'll be there and I can take a (super)breakout in my trailer IF there's any left.
If not, it's not a big deal (just a "nice to have" cab for me), this will give me an opportunity catch up with you all.

I just got off the phone with the seller and IT IS ON !!!

SO, book your rental vans, hook up your trailers, install you roof-racks, or get a plane ticket and BE THERE on october 8 from 12.00 hrs.
We WILL leave the premises at 15.30, so be sure to have done the deal and put the machine on the trailer by then !!

Looks like the complete Eurocade crew will be there, we can lend a hand here and there where REALLY needed.

IF you are not able to come yourself (or have picked up) your choice of machines please let me know ASAP if we need to buy it and transport it to Polderarcades place.

Unfortunately I'm just an outsider in this raid, I have a training (drinking till dead) with my company on that weekend. ;D :-\
The leftovers would be great for parts for my Zaccs, but everything else goes to Robin or anybody else who wants them. ;)
I'm really curious about that Vanguard, I guess our Vectorking has all the arts for that beauty by now, it could be restored to it's former glory and Robin could take it to next Eurocade. ;D

Can anyone tell me how far into belgium this is? I'm interested to see such a load of cabs together and perhaps lend a hand (if i'm welcome of course), but i'm gonna have to tell the wife how long i'll be gone. I live in Roosendaal btw.

If anyone needs any more storage (or if Polderarcade's place is too far for you), i have a large warehouse and an empty office block (with alarm) that can be used for temp storage near Roosendaal (almost on the border with Belgium).

SInce I can't edit my older posts anymore all of a sudden (??) I have to update the "Wanted/Reserved" list here.

I changed the list to being named RESERVED because once your name and machine are on that list it means you DEFINITLY want it and are going to pick it up NEXT SATURDAY at the warehouse OR have arranged pick-up in any way OR have let me know that the cab needs to be transported to Polderarcades's place.

@Rorsach: Your offer for space is also excellent, maybe even a better option than Polderarcade's location which is near Amsterdam. Roosendaal is a lot closer to Gent, and thus I think the seller will be much more willing to transport them there. On the other hand, you're prettty new here and well.....we have to be honest and we have to know we can trust you of course :) Do you see the possibility to come along next saturday so at least we can meet there ?

SO....anyone who is on the WANTED list and wants to be moved to the RESERVED list MUST confirm he will come on the day or have arranged storage with Polderarcade or Rorsach. This has to be confirmed to me by Polder & Rorsach. Those who will have the cabs transported by the seller MUST pay to ME upfront enough of money to pay the seller.  THey also MUST agree that I do the negotiation of the price. Of course you can indicate a maximum. Again, prices WILL be very reasonable. As mentioned, the Taito's can go for 50 euro, the PD for 100 so that sets about the range. I dont think anything will be more than 150 really.

Here's the updated list so far:

RESERVED list:  (ON THIS LIST ONLY PEOPLE WHO EITHER COME NEXT SATURDAY OR HAVE ARRANGED TRANSPORT !!!!
Level42:          Hard Drivin' cockpit
Kroustibat:      Virua Fighter2, Breakout
Hatster:          Power Drift, Breakout, Super Bug (1/4)
Polderarcade:   Ridge Racer 2x, Super Bug (2/4), Tekken, Phoenix cabaret (for friend)
ckong:            Super Bug (3/4) MUST have PCB & non faded marquee & decent bezel,MAYBE Super Bug (4/4)
ChrisChris:       (Super) Breakout if any left..
RobinHolland:   Vanguard (Zaccaria), 1 Taito cab, maybe more Zacc's ?
Eurotronic:       (Super) Breakout if any left... and Mechanized Attack

WANTED list:
Alpha1:           Taito Phoenix, Taito Space Chaser (IF in good condition and complete....)
Blanka:           Generic "beaten" cab
Rémi75:          Taito cabs
Belike:            Zacc's ?
Title: Re: The warehouse groupbuy

A note about the Breakout(s). My first feeling is that there is only one (super) Breakout left.

Since Gyruss cancelled his reservation (I'm sure he already regrets ;)) Kroustibat is the next on the list and so it is reserved for him.

Of course, IF there are still any (super) breakouts left, the next on the list will be able to get it.

Another note about the Zacc's:

Had another look at the pictures and list and esp. this picture "worries" me:

I see 5 Zacc's there but AFAIR Erik took the Vanguard and also the Scramble.
Erik can you please confirm and ID which machines you have now ?

In that case I think only 3 Zacc's are left and I'm not sure which games they are, there may or may not be a Vanguard....

Bela, can you tell me if you're interested in one ? I know Robin also wants Zacc's and also one of the Belgian guys (who, sorry don't remember.) IF there are indeed only three left I think it's most honest to split them between you three (In the European spirit ;)).

Another thing: The seller also has LOADS of 19" CRT VGA USED monitors for sale. Although they can't be connected to a CGA game directly you could use a converter. Otherwise they are great for MAME of course.
Price is 50 euro each.

Apart from this there are all kinds of machines like Darts machines which go CHEAP as well, but also CD juke's Bingo's etc. etc. The Wimi cabs are also still there and maybe good for taking out the monitor BUT I am SURE you will have to take the entire cab out of there.

Note that i tried a 19" dell vga monitor to fit in a hantarex mtc900 frame, and i came 1 inch short...

They use different points of measurements in monitors.

In my case the glass from the dell is 19" from corner to corner, as the MTC measure 19" viewable..  which means a 20" from glass corner to corner...

still very usable for a mamecab though, only need to mount them different..

On a positive note about the Zacc's: I remember that there should still be a Super Galaxian(s) by Zacc with GREAT artwork. Or has someone else bought this already ?

For the guys coming over on 8 oct.: The seller will be at the warehouse at 12.00 hr. and so we will be there then as well. PLEASE try to be there between 12.00 and 13.00 hrs., examining and dragging cabs, negotioting price etc. will take plenty of time (the cabs ARE in a maze that Pac Man would be jealous of ;).

We do have to leave by 15.30 hrs.

A note about prices: Expect low prices and personally I think the prices are SO low that there should be very little room for negotiating. I think we shouldn't "pull the ears" of the seller because of that. Don't start negotiating about 10 euro's less for a cab....we would look totally silly IMHO and I want to keep my contact with the seller good.

Also, DO NOT expect minty machines. They are old, have been there for some 30 years and have been in commercial use. Accept what you have seen on the pics as much as possible. Of course it's your call to a final decision to buy or not, but keep reasonable.

They are not computer monitors Etienne, they are open frame arcade monitors. The computer monitors had a different inch indication than TV's and "normal" monitors.

Erik, did you check this ? It could well be that these are "20"" monitors as well I don't know. But indeed, of course making it fit is up to the buyer :)

@Hatster (wanted to PM, but I reached my 5 PMs per hour limit):

You want: Power Drift, Breakout, Super Bug (1/4)

The PD has a settled price of 100 Euro. I'm expecting the Breakout and Super Bug to be lower than that. Maybe 50, or 75 but maybe the seller will say 100....
Let me know your limit per game (PM me) please and I'll try to get a fair price.
Also, I'm going to need the money in my bank account or PayPal ASAP. I suggest you transfer 250 euro, assuming 100 for PD and 75 for Breakout & Super Bug.

Of course, Kroustibat has first call on the Breakout if there is still only one left !!!
Any difference in price will of course be paid back. If you want me to add more cabs (exiidies etc) let me know which and check with your transport if they will fit. Of course add 75 euro per cab ....
You can find the dimensions of the Power Drift sit down ("Deluxe") right here (also note the weight ! ;)

To be honest I don't have too much space for more cabs atm. and I don't need them, but I would take the Super Galaxian if it is complete. ;D
I would also use some control panels and bezels, but only if there is nobody else who take the whole cabs and keep them in one piece.
I would also be really happy if some of you take all the Zaccs, restore them to their former glory, and don't leave this mission to me again. ;D

I haven't discussed that yet. As far as I can see now, all the guys that need cabs transported will be there Saturday so we can arrange that with the seller then.

Sorry but the communication with the seller is limited by phone calls, I don't have his email address. Also the preparation time for this whole deal was quite limited so I'm not up to "Eurocade standards" on this...

I transported and updated the list to the FIRST post in this thread.

@Alpha1: tell us Us if you still want anything that was on the wanted list for you. I think we can work something out for storage.

@Remi I think there are 8 there but could be one more or less. If anyone else wants a Single Taito I think we also should give them a chance...

Pff hope I got everything covered....

I took a closer look at the Super Galaxian and as I see, there is no bezel, monitor cardboard (maybe the whole monitor) missing, cpo hacked, so I would rather let this go this time. :-\
It doesn't have too much chance, but if the pcb still in there and the guy sell it separately, I would go for that.
I would also take the cp from the 4th Zacc in the row, I guess it is an empty cabinet.
I will arrange everything with Chris & Etienne and my spirit will be also there. ;D

I'm coming with my own car as well. Who knows if there's anything cheep and cheerful to pick up.

OK, considering everything, I think it is best we keep to Polder's place for the temporary storage. There are a couple of reasons for this, amongst them more space than at Rorsach as far as I understand now. Polder also was first to offer it and is willing to help with the pick-up.
And, in all honesty he wants a good number of cabs (some big one's !) and they will need to be transported to him, so it's best if we can combine as many cabs as possible for transport.

I don't think two addresses to deliver will work for the seller either. That is not to completely "dish" Rorsach's offer though !! Thanks for the offer and who knows what still will happen ;)

We just have to decide because I will have to discuss this with the seller on saturday.

I've updated the list in the first posting indicating (GT) for GroupTransport to Polder's place. So for those I already know will need to be transported there I've indicated. Please let me know if yours have to be transported there too !!!

I don't think it will be a huge truck but I'm not sure really...

I don't and I don't remember seeing it there the last time I was there...but I didn't look THAT closely around...(since I was there on a mission).

Didi, wanted to PM you but there's a (new?) limit of 5 pm's and when I send 1 PM to 4 members this already counts as 4. I e-mailed Bruno to see if this can be changed...

Anyway: You said you want a Wimi and an original Scramble.

Plenty of Wimi's but there is no Scramble there anymore.

Please check the list again  that I linked to in the beginning of the thread: https://files.me.com/andre.huijts/k3yrlx

Then subtract the cabs that are on the RESERVED list on the top post of this thread and you know (about) what is still left...

Let me know what you want ASAP. Multiply the number of uprights by 75 euro's and PayPal that amount of money to the e-mail address you still have from the Eurocade communication. Any difference we will settle after saturday.

The storage will be done by Polder for a small fee, but you'll have to contact Polder about that directly.
We will arrange that your cabs will be shipped by the seller to Polder's place.

Hope you're happy :)

Hope you're happy :)

Andre .. I need no PM .. is ok .. but Nuno must reconfigure such things ...
OK .. I read the list and I hope that the "black-listed" items are still available ..
So I'm interested in 2 or 3 machines, but i wanna know the prices and the condition ..
I try to figure the most out by study the pics you made ..
If PM will work, so we talk about the rest .

And YES .. I am happy ..
Special people needs special handling .. hehe ..

Well..

After reading the "Wanted & Reserved List" and comparing with the "available-List" I think there's nothing left for me ..
Except the Hard-Driving sit-down and one of the Ugly wooden Cabs ... But this will fit in one of my rooms ...
So it will be nice if I can be informed about the condition of these cabs and the price of them ..
If this is not possible, I do not and wait for my next chance

Regards

Didi

No offense DiDi, but PLEASE READ the whole thread.

As I PMed you, all the questions you PMed me were already answered in the thread but you obviously did not read it entirely.

So, for the last time and let it be CLEAR to everyone:
THE HARD DRIVIN' IS RESERVED FOR ME

The info about the general condition of these cabs, expected prices EVERYTHING has been mentioned AT LEAST once in this thread.

I can of course not give info about every single cab in there !!
You either have to accept what you see on the pics or not get anything at all.

I'm sorry, I am always trying to be as complete as possible regarding information and always trying to help out but if you can't invest a little time "to do your homework" I don't see a reason to keep repeating info that is already there.

Some quotes from my PM box:

"Give me the Adress of this warehouse.."[/i]

Whatever happened to decency ?

Guys, I understand you're eager but like I already posted in this thread ........I will give the address friday night.

The LAST thing I want is to arrive at the warehouse on saturday and find it half-empty....sorry but those are the rules. Don't like them? No problem, I am NOT owing ANYTHING to ANYONE...

In fact, this turned out into a royal PITA from some guys....next time I guess I'll just shut up on this forum.

Keep decent, keep patient, or I might not give you the address at all.....

What is boing wrong with you ?
If you offer things like this, people feel naturally upset about this!
This is a absolutely normal reaction.
If you don't want this, so keep those informations secret.
And in case of the adress: Maybe someone will plan a route to this warehouse.
You said Saturday is the day of the days, so the people will arrive saturday.
Nobody here will destroy a deal like this i think.
So don't let us feel like kiddies and don't handle us like them.
We are not stupid, ok ? Maybe a little bit crazy and maybe nuts, but not stupid at all !
So calm down, send your 5 PM's or however, so that we can plan the day and the way.

Firts of all i don't want to interfear in this...

I just like to share my opinion.
IMHO friday night is time enough to have the exact adress, already its posted that its near GENT, so for the guy's planning a route this should be more than enough i think.

the final adress is just a matter of seconds to put in your navigation system..

be happy that there is an opportunity like this, and just respect the "rules" as posted before..

Again, this is just my opinion...

No offence to anybody.

OK, that is decided then... 2-mad is out.

After Eurocade I was up for a rest, but in the past many guys asked me about the stuff still left in the warehouse. And yes, I wanted one particular machine there still....

I'm a nice guy. At least I think I am. I am totally willing to share the wealth in the warehouse.
I could have bought up the machines and try to sell them for top money on Marktplaats. But I prefer to share the wealth with my FRIENDS in this hobby.

I am to tired of this shit and I'm not going to respond to all of your previous posting but I will tell you one thing:

I did not give the address yet to ANYONE because I do NOT want to arrive at the warehouse and find it half emptied. Sure, most of the guys coming over I know and trust, but some of the guys coming I don't know or barely know. How would you feel if you end up at the warehouse after traveling for hundreds of kilometers and your machine turns out to be GONE. I would feel very stupid and responsible, and worse things have happened in this hobby.

So for the last time: yes >> I << am calling the shots on this. You obviously don't like that and so I've decided that it's best you don't end up there saturday.

It's a matter of seconds to enter the address,
but it's not really possible to rent a car at friday night ..
And if this warehouse is too far away for me and so on I stay here ..

Ok .. Level42 (God himself) said : I'm out .. I don't really care about .. doesn't matter ..
That other guy's will crowl in it's back .. also ok for me ..
I got my Arcade-Machines before this board and I will get them after .. so you can't hit me.
And sorry again .. I don't know that I' at a children's garden or a kiddie-hort and have to "play" to "rules" ..
I'm too old for a handling like this ..
You handle me like an ashole or like a criminal because I want to know the address one day before ..
I need to rent a car .. or not .. so I need some more informations ..
And not to go earlier than you to this place and take "your" cabs away ..

Anyway ..

Calm down Didi please.
It's a quiet board here, full of responsible members, with successfully group buys done without any trouble!
André shares with us that specific warehouse bulk buy, and so he's the guy who establish the rules and how to proceed on that one.
If you don't agree, just don't participate, or try to find solution with André, but no need to attack because something doesn't go like you want...

Man ... what happened here. Sorry for interfering this thread but the "problem" with the not known address and the planning of the trip should be no problem at all ... you could all give Andre your address (at least the city) and he could have checked how far it is from your place without telling the secret location. For me, for planning a trip the distance is important, not the adress.

Again, sorry for interrupting the fruitfull conversation ;)

Everyone made it to the warehouse, thanks for that !!!

A lot of machines have left the building but I don't know who took what. A lot of cabs that were intended to be taken were left, but also a lot that were not planned got taken.

Between 15 and 20 cabs left...

Hatster, David took the Power Drift, a Super Bug and a Breakout. Then the bus was FULL !
Good. luck unloading the PD !!!!!

Rorsach, Remi and Eurotronic, nice meeting you !

Here's a list form the top of my head, please correct me where needed:

Level42:          Hard Drivin' cockpit
Kroustibat:      NBA jam
Hatster:          Power Drift, Breakout, Super Bug
Polderarcade:   Tekken, Taito cab, Neo Geo 16x9, Dartsmachine...what else ??
ckong:            Neo Geo cassettes
ChrisChris:       Super Breakout
RobinHolland:   Vanguard (Zaccaria), 2 Taito cabs
Eurotronic:       Taito cab
Rémi75:           2 Taito cabs, 4 Neo Geo Blue Euro version, Neo Geo cassettes
Belike:            A Zacc game...

I count 21 machines...
More ??

I had a great day, today. Unfortunately I didn't score a cab, the seller's prices were too high for my taste and also pretty much higher than on previous occasions.

But I dud buy some nice MVS game kits, like Andro Dunos, Spinmaster, Windjammers, the Magician lord and a few others, for reasonable prices.

Oh, and I had heard that GOD would also be there, but I didn't see him. Which makes sense of course, since he doesn't exist and is just an imagination in people's mind. (IMO)  8)

But I did speak with good friends again and I also met some nice new people. It was fun, can't wait until we meet again.

Yeah, sorry about that. Because he had dropped the price of the Power Drift so much and also that ot the Taito's I thought he'd be much more nice about the other prices too. Maybe he thought with so many people that he could make a better price for some cabs. The Super bugs were pretty expensive, but my guess is that he thought, hey this is a racing cab...I can get good money for it.

I really don't understand he would have sold even more if he'd lowered the price bit.

Then again...maybe we are just a bit spoilt.... ;D

cool!!! thx a lot for all those pics (and the video), etienne. looks like you guys grabbed a looot of games (and other stuff). can't remember the canyon bomber being there the last time, that's a very special cabinet and a nice old b/w game. someone needs to rescue it :P

oh, and what game has this amazing artwork?

Jeez, after this long day of dragging cabs, helping people, etc.etc. I still managed to got to a nice party at the music club, dance with a hot lady, and had quite some beer.... ;D ;D

GREAT pics ETienne Especially because I totally would not picture a lot of what you did picture....excellent t see now.

Ully that BRILLIANT side art is a Caterpillar by Olympia. It's a Centipede bootleg, and I too love that artwork...it now has a joystick panel. I am note sure if Caterpillar supported a trackball.
Although not many people know, Atari's centipede ALSO supports joystick control...

It's still at the warehouse like canyon bomber which deserves to be rescued for that BEAUTIFUL artwork alone !! It's funny the guy in the pplane is the same as the guy in the Beetle on the Super Bug...

As you can see on the pics I took good safety precautions....;)

What a great day fr European arcade collecting !!!!

that sideart is more than brilliant, i'm thrilled. fortunately, i already have a centipede ;). however, judging from some older pics, it seems as if the control panel is not original anymore! did you guys check whether the pcb was inside?

agreed, wonderful art and a very special cabinet. some question as above: did you check for the pcb? i wonder why noone grabbed this ... too expensive?

speaking of which: you said the prices were higher than the last time. how much did he ask for the taito cabs for example?

did you guys grab anything else? some nice pcbs or monitors?
Title: Re: The warehouse groupbuy
Post by: level42 on October 09, 2011, 09:19:52 AM
The Taito's were 50 euro without a PCB inside as promised. Also the PD was 100 as promised. So if you then compare Super bug (three of the four were complete, the best one is on it's way to hatster) for 125 that is pretty steep. But we simply value the games differently I guess.
Title: Re: The warehouse groupbuy
Post by: level42 on October 09, 2011, 09:25:23 AM
I didn't check both machines for PCBs. I think someone said there was one in the Canyon Bomber. Since nobody was interested in the caterpillar I guess no one checked...

I think he asked 125 for the canyon bomber.... not sure.

hey guys,

daves back tonight, but just wanted to say thanks to everyone for helping him load the beast, and thanks to Andre for sharing the place.

Also see a spanish machine there "la pinata" with a sombrero, etc.  Is this still there ? did anyone take a closer look at it ? never seen one before, looks very interesting !

Cheers,

La Pinata is a cross between a candy vending machine and a simple Arcade game. You need to hit the Pinate on screen for 7 times and you get a handful of candy.

the puckman and ricochet where not for sale unfortunately
the exidy circus and others are still in the warehouse..

as far as i can remember, these are still there:

3 taito's
1 canyon bomber
3 non complete breakout's (or modified CP or something else)
2 zacc's non complete full uprights (almost empty shell only)
1 exidy circus
1 hacked exidy cab
2 enduro racers
3 superbugs
2 final lap's

alot of Wimi's / other generic cabs
and ofcourse many many bingo's and kiddyride shizzle and gumball machines
am i forgetting something guy's ?

I also hesitated a lot regarding that Canyon Bomber. :-\ :-\ :-\
PCB was not inside but I just happen to have an (untested) one and a manual.
I think you can have it for 100€ since it has no PCB (that's what the owner told me but prices were changing all the times).
I took some pics of that nice Caterpillar too, but I also already have a centipede, too much bugs are not healthy for a gameroom  ;)
Thank you all for this fun day, I will post some pics later tonight.
Béla I have a zacc for you and some pics of the 2 zaccs that stayed there (100€ each).
If you want them, let me know, i can go back there as it's not far from my place (1hour drive).

:)

Etienne, you forgot some:
2x Sega Blockout
Sega Bomber
Still a coupl of Taito's left too.

One of the Breakouts has a PCB inside but one is missing the BW tube.
I did some last minute changes (Dave loved me for it I'm sure, he was about the drive off....) for you Hatster so that you have a bezel and better control panel. The seller didnt really like that :) Much to my regret I didn't have a tool to remove the original marquee from that machine and the seller complained a bit about it already so I had to leave it.. pretty sure Breakout marquee should be able to find...

When you get the PD working I'm coming over for a game or two !!! ;)

Funny conversation between Dave and me:
Dave: "Do you know what's the best way to Barcelona ?"
Me: "uhhh, head South !"  ;D ;D

LOL !

Some more comments on some pictures:

Not the worst looking general cabs. The most interesting about them is that they have original Wico leaf joysticks:

The not for sale Puckman has a mini Suzo joystick exactly like those on Q*berts.

Nice PCB from 1973. Look at the used font for the letters, so seventies "galaxy" style :)
The game is Paddle Battle by Allied Leisure Industries
(http://www.opdenkelder.com/pics/warehouseraid/44.jpg)

Puckman bootleg PCB EXACTLY the same as in my bootleg Puckman, so I bet that came out of the Puckman cab.

I took a look inside the wannabe nintendo vs system, and it's definitely not a vs sys. compatible cab, they just used the same name and imitated the side art a bit.

never noticed this one....it's even uglier than the Wimi's !!!!!!

Yeah, it was reverse before i took the picture..
I saw Atari alu stickers on the back of it, so i was curious what it was, as for the shape, does that not look like the breakout shape ??

OMG !!! If that is true than that is the WORST conversion I've ever seen !!! Poor poor Breakout !

Isn't it jus amazing....I've been to that warehouse so many times now...but all you guys' pics make me see new things almost every time.....

I guess I've always been in "classic arcade scanner" mode. F.I. I never really noticed the Neo Geo's (that's why I never listed them).
Also some of the kiddy-ride artwork is pretty cool or at least noticeable....I simply always seem to look over such things.

In a way...this whole thing looks like a piece of art....like an industrial heritage...some pics really wow me :)

I don't think any of the pinballs were for sale. Those are "new" one's they may still have on route...but I'm not sure.

The guy with the hat was the seller's son. It's better to do business with the dad though...

Did we mention that the seller's wife kindly made us a pot of soup during the day, that was great :) Talked a bit with her and she said that if it were up to her, her husband should have got rid of ALL the machines...but.....I think we have to thank him for keeping them for such a long time !!

Mechanized Attack is in very good condition and works except for the monitor. Erik told me that he had actually played it on one of our earlier visits...
The monitor sounded like having a bad fly-back. Since it's a wide-screen monitor I have no clue what chassis that was, Hantarex maybe ?

Wide screen you mean 16/9 format or 25" diagonal?
From what i have seen it's not a mtc9110.
The guns also have wear and tear issues, like wiggling, and seems to had some gear teeth damaged.. :?

I have a weak weak spot for kiddy rides, but that takes up even more space than cabs.
I asked the seller and he told me they were not for sale at the moment, lucky me !!!

Just got back. Thanks everyone for the nice rt.  Special Thanks to level42 for sharing.

You're welcome ! I hope the NBA got home dry !! Next time bring a plastic tarp;)

That was a big surprise by the way, all the times I've been ther I never saw it, Then again, it couldn't have been any further hidden in the back !!!  ;D

it was mostly dry thanks to chris who kindly lend me one of his mat, thanks mate ! In the end there was lots of surprise ;) Bad point the son of the owner removed the keylocks in the front and kept the keys , so now i'll have to drill the remaining keyslocks

Yeah, they're nuts about keeping the keys for some reason. My guess is they maybe use one dedicated key for all their cabs and don't want them to be robbed by us ;)

But usually the dad removes the entire locks so everything is open...

I think that this cool "second bezel" (like Universal did them) was removed right?

Heheheh....

So, do we know what the "Pacific Manufacturing" company is ? Because that was indicated on the Taito cabs serial plates...?
I wonder if these were built in Japan....

Mmmm.... this is what is listed on Taito's official site:

1963   Established subsidiary Pacific Industries Ltd. with the aim of planning, developing and producing our own products.

So that's answered I guess...

Good you had lots of friends for the unloading !!!

The seller told me that although it didn't move any more, the game was running some time ago and his grand child played it once in a while. However when we tried it at the time JCP was interested in it it didn't give any signs of live...

The Super Bug is insanely heavy, I wonder what is in there....gold bricks ??

One thing is sure: the weather is a lot better at your place !!

ok so the monitor in the PD is dead, strange it looks really really clean almost like its a new one.  there is 110v on the connector so it will need a little further investigation...  the fans all come on, as do the led#s on the board.

I hope you get it running quickly ! PD was one of the rare games I frequented at the arcade in the "later years". As with ALL upright versus cockpit/sit-down games the last kind is simply 4 times better....the movement of the game plus the software "tilting" of the screen image (a novelty then) were creating such a great effect.

I hope you can master it and show us a video of the bonus track where instead of a car you have an Afterburner plane !

next question - i cant so far find the cockpit manual on the internet, only the upright.  It would also appear that the monitor is a 26" Sanwa which was only used in this game........  here is a couple of pics if anyone recognises it or has schems for it ?
Notice how clean and shiny it is - weird !

That zacc is so cool !

And also the condition, its almost mint !
It even still has the CP "protectorbucket" that is covering all the switches the and (ORIGINAL!) joystick on the bottom..

We already spoke about it and i also never saw a "red" zacc

here the comparation with a regular:

As you can see they used red for the pink and pink for the blue.
The yellow is in the standard layer.

Maybe Paulswan ever saw this ?

I think its one very cool rare cabinet  :spaceace:

...and of course I just had to go back to that place  ;D
I promised Ully to get a cab for him there and a word is a word, so...

Let's start that mini RT (RT is for Road Trip, who said Rain and Traffic jams?).

Just like Vanilla Ice (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rog8ou-ZepE&ob=av2e) and Snow (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NtILxBszyf8) you all know that Ully and I are "Cool und Kompetent", so that truck was a good sign.

Road was easy and just like when you reach Temptation Island, the owner had prepared a tempting appetizer for me, but I resisted!
The Final Lap is working as you can see and it is still for sale for those interested (notice the garbage on the wheels of the right car).

Here's what I came for: Ully's CANYON BOMBER.
What a cool cab and this old guy is now in the best hands possible.
(Sorry for the bad pictures, but I'm sure that Ully will make better ones in due resto time)

...and what happens when you plug a 33 years old game after such a long time in a storage?
But it fully works of course!!! (what did you expect?)

The thing is that I'm super weak and that there's just enough room for 2 cabs in my trailer so I took this empty zacc too (no screen, no PCB).
It was cheap, I really love their side arts and I had to find something to balance the weight in the trailer (didn't I??).

OK.....small road-trip report.

Road-trip....Yeah sort of....

As mentioned I was on a secret trip from a UK inhabitant....he had asked if a certain machine was still available from The Warehouse (tm)....I thought it was....so I made yet another appointment with the operator...

Planned route: Ridderkerk->Goes->Warehouse near Gent->Goes (unintended)->Ridderkerk......

Left this morning WAY behind schedule...

First part of the trip...

One of the things I love about road trips into Belgium is that I can listen to my favorite radio station Radio Nostalgie (www.nostalgie.eu):

This station plays 70s and 80s music, but unlike Veronica in Holland they do NOT recycle ONLY the huge hits, no they play also the more forgotten tracks, one is even greater to hear than the other.

And maybe it was a sign but RIGHT when Level42 went on a road trip they play.......

http://youtu.be/kweGRhJ4auM

....yes Level 42 with Something About You....

Anyway.....if you looked at the picture I put up you see a huge Bomber....and that is the goal of the mission today.

Indeed this probably was one of the few "diamonds" we left behind on our previous trips. Of course I don't mean the Canyon Bomber which we all know was saved by Ully (& Chris).

No, we're talking about (as I learned recently) an ultra-rare Sega Bomber. It is a very early Sega game, from 1977. Klov has NO pictures of it. There is also NO dedicated flyer in the arcade flyer archive, but there IS this one...

As you can see Sega was pretty smart and made something of a universal cabinet that fitted several games. It even has a cut-out for a pedal....

I have looked through all forums, googled around and could found NOTHING about this game ! No one seems to own one.....or even have pics...

However......my first goal was the city of Goes in Zeeland. As you guys know I had to pic up a "couple" of PCBs there AND a beautiful coin door.

Since Joeks kindly offered these for free....I gave him a small token of my appreciation in the hope he liked Belgian beer...
A nice big bottle of Palm beer :)

It was great meeting Joeks, very friendly guy but regretfully I had very little time as I had agreed a time to be at the warehouse and had to catch up some time.

I had brought in my camera to takes some pics but I put it on the stairs. By the time we loaded up the PCBs and the coin door I had forgotten about it....and left it there in the hurry....which meant no road trip pics...

Only after crossing the longest (6.6 km) (toll) tunnel in Holland (http://www.westerscheldetunnel.nl/en/about-the-tunnel/facts-en-figures/tunnel.htm)

I arrived in Zeeuws Vlaanderen. I remember this tunnel from getting my Galaxian....

Also, this is the area where a certain "Arcadegek" lives. It's funny, this is a part of Holland that one rarely visits because it's only reachable through the tunnel or through Belgium...

SO.....I took a "short-cut" route which quickly brought me to the Gent area and arrived only 15 minutes late....

I mentioned what cab I was looking for and the op exactly knew where it was (it was moved I thought....).
In his nice Flemmish he said that it was still "marching"..... when I asked if the PCB was still inside.
So he powered it up. Within a second the marquee lit up and also the little light in the bezel indicating the "bonus level".

Soon after that there was a nice picture and we had a fully working attract mode !

He tried to find a key to open the (strange) coin door (basically a piece of the front...) to credit the machine but didn't have the right key....
Then there was some negotiations about price of course and I must say he put some serious water to the wine from his asking price so we arrived at the max the mysterious buyer was willing to pay for it (not that much really ;)).
He said "because it's you, you can take it for that price" :) It's good to have good contacts (be friendly, stick to what you agree (time etc.)
He also told me some French guy had returned later to pick up some Eduro Racers I believe ? Maybe Rémi ?

There was still a working one left though...

More tomorrow.....

Damn! You should have used this cult (and great) Motörhead album cover, in addition the perfect picture choice for this story

Remember Bruno, Andre is not into metal....

Would have made a perfect thread picture though, i agree on that !

pretty amazing it's still working after so many years!

Post by: level42 on March 04, 2012, 10:58:09 AM
I love metal Etienne, cupper, aluminum, gold....the more the better ! :)

Indeed awesome picture Bruno !

SO ....I looked around a bit more in the warehouse. There was now in Indiana Jones pinball which was TOTALLY discolored but the play field was nice, regretfully it was already sold for 1500 Euro's. There was also an Elton John pinball, really old in pretty nice condition, was sold too.

The op also asked if anyone was interested in a 2 player Namco/Atari Final Lap for 200 Euros he claimed the monitors were working (I guess it's fully working...)
(Crappy cell phone pics coming up....)

If I had the space it would be mine......ANY 2 player racer is a great cab to have....

In my excitement that the machine was working I apparently managed to NOT make a pic of it

About the rest of the machines in the warehouse.....nothing really changed....everything still there. Loads of Photoplays that I hadn't seen (or noticed) before...

SO I loaded up the cab....since the flyer mentioned the sizes I wasn't worried if it would fit in my car, but because it will have to be delivered to the UK AND I will have 2 passengers on board....
Now....we ALMOST managed to put it in with 1/3 of the back-bench still up but someone was preventing it to go the last centimeters. Turns out it was the joystick being in the way. There are also 4 wheels under the cab (handy !). So if I remove the CP for the trip to the UK and maybe the casters, it will all JUST fit (mind you.....it won't be roomy in the back Erik and Pieter ! :)

So I drove back to Joeks' place, quickly picked up the camera and gave Robin a call....he agreed to store this baby until 14 april so we unloaded it, had a quick look and MADE SOME PICS !!!

Clearly it was mention to go to mainland Europe from the start....

But it was made in Japan....

Robin have a  look at this very rare machine...we like it more and more :)

Regretfully the machine has no side-art but that's how it is supposed to be.

The best piece of artwork on it is the marquee. I still find it amazing that the SEGA logo is already so old but STILL looking great and not aged....

The bezel had three bombers that light up depending on the bonus level I guess. The one on the right lit up right away...
There's a very weird RGB color overlay over the monitor which is a bit weird since the movement on the screen is horizontal but maybe it has some function in the game I don't know of yet....

Gotta love that CP even thought there is no artwork. Look at these very special buttons and the Japanese instructions....:)

Wit a bit of black paint this is going to look great again:

English instructions:

I'm sure it's set-up for Belgian Francs now but I love that coin entry...

Close up of the buttons. In my best Japanese I can read "Start game" on the yellow button and "release bomb" on the right one ;) ;) ;) Seriously if one of the Japanese guys here could give an exact translation that would be great....

The coin door in Japanese style (little crime.....) It's simply a cut out of the front plate with a piano hinge.....:)

I had a look at the back of the monitor before I left the warehouse (for some weird reason ;)). That has a separate "door" that can be simply unscrewed. Ther is a NEC b/w monitor in there with a NEC tube, I've never seen this chassis before.

Regretfully I coulnd't credit it so I can't say if the game plays OK but I expect little trouble. The only "issue" I saw is that the picture is slightly jittering horizontally but I bet that that is just a bad pot meter on the monitor....

I never got to see the PCB. All of these require documentation because there is nothing available on the net.

My plan is to do a basic cleaning of the cab and make pics of the inside.

Alpha1: you better make sure you have a brand new UK plug at South Coast Slam so we can have it running there right away.

All in all I'm very happy "we" saved this cab, it may be not the most know machine or a real classic, but it certainly is a very rare piece e of SEGA history and as such a very cool machine.

A shame about the indiana jones pinball, IMO one of the best out there! (at least it got the most gameplay when i had one at the shed..  :o)

great job in saving this, andré (and oll?). unfortunately, the rest of the cab doesn't live up to the fabulous marquee artwork, but nevertheless totally worth saving. from what you have seen, does it play like some kind of canyon bomber?

Was great meeting you Andre!
And thanks for the beer, I LOVE Belgian beers :)

Nice Sega Bomber cabinet you took home with you.
I had a glance at it when you came to pickup your camera.
That cabinet is like the grandfather of my Japanese SEGA candy cabinets :)

Looks like the artist who drew the marquee made a small mistake. The plane on it is a WW2 Boeing B17 "Flying Fortress" and it shows the name "Bit o' Lace".
However that plane had number 976 and not 978......

Apparantly they didnt dare (or care) to draw the pin up either ;);)

Is there still somthing in the warehouse or is everything gone.
I have the place to fill some more arcade cabinets.
Transport is not a problem for me.
On the next warehouse raid you can count me in.
I can get to a truck if necessary.

Does anybody have time to make an update to the list of what is still left there ? Work/redecorating my home and Eurocade claim all my time at the moment and I have had several requests for an updated list....

Also, if you ask for the contact details because you want a certain cab from the warehouse I WOULD appreciate it if you update me if you indeed did buy the machine or anything else or maybe nothing....I think that's the least thing you can do in return.....

if nobody had done it by then, I'll make a list of what's still available.
