Also on the way from the UK should be a little PCB to improve the sync of the Q*bert board. The issue I have now is that when the cab is cold, there are tears over the screen. I can adjust it out, but then the picture is not perfectly aligned. Q*bert's sync signals are far from standard and this little PCB should fix it.

I'm curious about this pcb, do you have some more info about it?

The truth is: I can either adjust my monitor to have a pefect alligned picture and have sync problems while it's still not warmed up (the monitor) OR I can have no sync problems but the screen is down too low....not acceptable either way and since I read in these articles that Q*bert produces a bad sync signal which new(er) monitors don't like I figured this thing might help.

Still need to get the parts though....

Just received a message that the coin-door is finally back from the sand-blaster, will pick it up tonight !!

It seems that the boards are out of stock, but on the other hand it shouldn't be too difficult (and good practice) to make it myself. Could you post good pictures of your bare board, front and back, so I have an idea about difficulty rate?

I actually thought about doing a veroboard version myself but.....knew I was too lazy (well wanted to spend the time for other stuff is a better explanation I guess ;))

Will dig it up today and make pics. The schematics should be enough to make a veroboard version though.

Note that one resistor value is printed wrong on the PCB, check the UKVac threads for then one...it was something with 68...

Thanks. Yes, I read about the resistor value being wrong.

OK !! I'm pretty sure you'll know which one I'll choose ;);) :D

As always fantastic work on this man....already the way everything is carefully wrapped individually and stacked together with cello tape....that alone is a lot of time and care !

Yep, thats something i started last run, i found these "wenskaart opberghoesjes" at the local Action (which means very cheap), and thought to give it a try, as i have noticed in the past that the edges tend to stick the decals together and leave glue residue on the decals.

also its easier to stick the tape to it to keep them in the middle of the protecting cardboard in the enveloppe.
that is essential, as the edges of the enveloppe takes the most abuse during shipping.

before i used plain paper and sticked them to that.
this is less weight so that results in some cases in lower postal costs.

now that they are sleeved individual there is no actual contact between the tape and the cardboard.
also to remove them from the sleeves is easy, as you can simply cut the sleeve (with exacto or Stanley knive)and slide the decal out, and you don't have to peel of the tape from the back (which i did in the past to keep them in the middle of the enveloppe) and minimize the risk of damage.

Anyway, enough about the decals, coindoor looks great !  :spaceace:

That feeling that you get when the very very last thing you need to do on a cab is install the coin door and you discover that 1 (one, not two) of the damn coin-reject button lamps is dead....and you don't have a spare.....
