After all this time that I hung around on this forum you should know my "style of humor". It's the same thing as my "famous" Galaga "hate".
In all seriousness I have very little against Galaga. It's a nice game. But I simply prefer Galaxian.
During time and several posts on several forums, I kind of find it funny to "feed" and "cultivate" the Galaga vs. Galaxian "war".
It's the same with C64 vs. A8. It's just a bit of fun, teasing.
Again, I have nothing against a LD game at Eurocade, in fact, I would most welcome it to finally give it a SERIOUS try.
It's true, I admit, I have mentioned my feelings about DL more than once here and in other places. I've been teasing too long. I should finally write down _why_ I have this attitude towards DL.
I hope this is still a forum where several opinions are allowed.
Remember that cultures differ greatly between countries, and in fact even regions.
I'm from Rotterdam. Rotterdam is a no-nonsense, cut-the-bullshit city, where people simply say what they think. Not all cultures are used to people being so direct. I know. Even in Holland there are regions that are a bit less straightforward, but I think it's safe that Dutch people in general have little fear of saying what they think. There are pros and cons about this. A big pro is that it's clear right away what people think. A con can be that people get hurt a little if they take things personally when it's not meant that way.
In other words: I have a "big mouth"
SO.....to not clutter this wonderful thread anymore, I suggest I start a new topic where I will write my honest feelings NOW about DL. Then, I hope we can welcome you here with a DL cab and I will honestly and with an open mind play it and will give the game another chance.
As you see, there are lot's of people who are dying to actually try DL (or another LD game) in real life, and I am all for it that they should be able to so they can judge if they like it or not themselves.
Eurocade is not (just) my thing, it's a community thing. The fact that I had asked CKONG, Etienne, Gyruss and RobinHolland to form a team BEFORE I even announced Eurocade should be a clear indication about that.
Anyway, a lot of words to say, please bring DL to Eurocade you will do a lot of people a great joy with it, don't let a moron like me who keeps teasing about it stand in their (and your) way.
