Yup....and Sub has been bugging me about showing it off here, but, like we tell kids here, if you beg you're not going to get it ;)

Seriously: I just haven't had TIME for it....yes, I was away for the whole weekend plus a shit-load of other stuff going on....

Ully: where the hell would I put a second SW cockpit ?? My wife would kill me...

Hey Hi,

What is the status of your Amplifone and AR-2 boards ?

I'm going to do a run of repairs/bullet-proofing Amplifone deflection and HV boards and an AR-2 board. In case needed I could do yours as well while I'm busy with them anyway.

Just let me know if it's needed/wanted.

The status is unknow actually, because I can not test them yet, the cab is still on the basement.

I think I must test it before isn't it ?

I was just working on the back door: D

the first one

and finally instead of repair mine I made another one for me and keep the original too.

Better work than the fist time, I'm getting better in using the router.

So, I can come to the EUROCADE 2011 I have something to bring with me !

Well done, Hi  8)

Better work than the fist time, I'm getting better in using the router.

The router...the favorite tool of all American guys obviously. You can do everything with it  8)
All we need is most practice (...and a lot of precautions ... it can be a dangerous tool IMO  :P)

I bought these:

to put behind the grills and these:

to mount the grills.

The first things, you screw in the wood with a hex driver. Then you have a "regular" "bolt" for the button screw.

Bought these here:
http://www.modelfixings.co.uk

Haven't installed them yet though....hope it works out great !

I just re-installed the speaker grills and the stuff about works GREAT !

The _really_ important thing is that _ANY_ metal left of the former rivets has to be _completely_ removed from the holes !!!
Use a drill of "just" the right size to do this. If any metal is left, you're NOT going to be able to screw in the "bolts".

If the holes are nice and clean, screwing them in is a piece of cake. I screwed them so far that they are a little bit below the surface. This way the grills will be completely flat.
The bolts I choose work perfectly, look great (black), not too big of a "button" on top and IMHO looks as good as original.

Will upload some pics later...

The key to success in using this solution is that _ANY_ metal rests of the former rivets MUST be removed. I drilled them out. IF YOU OWN A SW COCKPIT REMOVE THE MARQUEE BEFORE DOING THIS, ELSE YOU MAY DAMAGE IT WHEN DRILLING THE HOLES OF THE SEAT SPEAKERS !

Start, you can see some of the metal "leftovers":

Once drilled out/removed the metal, you simply screw in the "inserts" with a hex-tool. Be sure to buy the inserts types without the "edge" so you can screw them in far enough to make the "sink" under the surface a little bit, so that the grill will sit flush.

e sure to screw in the inserts as STRAIGHT as possible so the bolts will go in straight too

Replace the grill and inserted the bolts:

Done:

One hole was a bit too big after I removed the metal (first try). So for this hole I took a plug instead. Make sure the "head" is sunk so the grill will wit flush. I was very lucky as the hole was "exactly" tight enough for the bolt.
